Full Moon ~ Last Quarter Moon

There are several retrograde planets at work on us in unseen but obvious ways, pushing us to explore new options. What used to work, no longer does. What you used to desire, now leaves you with more longing. All this deep, internal shifting (maybe not yet spoken out loud) can create uncertainty, unrest, worry. Consider changing worry to wonder. Rather than thinking “I am worried about my future”, consider thinking “I wonder what might happen?”. During this time of retrogrades (Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, and soon to shift, Pluto), it is wise to listen to yourself more than others, and to cultivate patience and trust while not being idle in waiting mode. When we consciously turn worry to wonder, we activate our own imaginative powers to assist all of Creation to help us manifest our dreams.
In this two week period, Venus will turn direct again on April 15. For you early risers (or consider rising early), notice Venus’s bright wonder rising just before the sunrise. Activist Mars continues to be in close proximity to Ceres, our dwarf planet that governs caring for others and our environment. This begins a two-year cycle pressuring citizens to stand up and be heard about their concerns. This paring of red Mars and communal Ceres is the reason I choose one of my favorite flowers, the wild Indian Paintbrush, for this post. By definition, Paintbrush does not do well in a manicured gardens and prefers to flower with other wild natives. I like the sound of that. During these time, discover your more unscripted self as you remember what brings you wild joy, then find your co-collaborators. These times are all about community, finding our common unity.

Here is a brief synopsis of the Full Moon characteristics that hold true to every Full Moon from my from my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at Lunar Planner.
“The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration. The day just after the Full Moon is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, of what the activities of the first half of the lunar cycle, culminating into the enthusiasm of the Full Moon, are really about. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”

Mon April 10
Full Moon: Moon/Jupiter conjunction in Pisces opposite Sun in sidereal Pisces: Full Moon’s moment of complete illumination occurs tonight. Go outside and bath yourself in the always magnifying and magnificence of a Full Moon, a sacred moment that can lead to insights, clarity, a calm certainty. The Sun in Pisces can increase feelings of sensitivity and vulnerability, while the influence of the amplified Moon/Jupiter conjunction in Virgo can bring emotional tempering and discernment, or cause excessive worrying. Full Moons can also heighten a sense of being pulled in two directions, leading to polarization in some conversations.
Tue April 11
Uranus in Aries square Vesta in Cancer opposite Moon in Libra: This activation stimulates the need to break out of habits surrounding our relationships (including the one you have with yourself) and family life. Vesta in Cancer feels safe doing the same old routine, but Uranus in Aries feels bored, desiring spontaneity to feel alive and growing. Time to shake up the home front in positive, experimental ways.
Wed April 12
Moon in Libra opposite Mercury retrograde in Aries trine Neptune in Aquarius: This can lead to important conversations about plans being considered, possibly leading to a re-direction of energies going forward. It’s a great aspect to catch up with a friend, revisiting what happened over the course of the winter.
Thu April 13
Sun/Uranus conjunction in Aries: This annual conjunction brings a whole lot of shifts and sudden opportunities, or possibly a wake up call via an accident, or a breakdown that ultimately liberates you from some constraint. Plans can instantaneously shift, so don’t worry….go with the flow and say “I wonder what this will bring into my life today!”
Moon in Scorpio opposite Mars in Taurus: This serious-minded aspect is good for focusing on finances, if need be, or leads to an uncovering of buried emotions, even secrets.
Fri April 14
Sun in Aries square Vesta in Cancer: Building on the surprising events of yesterday’s Sun/Uranus conjunction, this aspect helps to clarify what to focus on going forward.
Venus/Chiron conjunct: Venus is about to turn direct tomorrow. Venus is in a tight conjunction with Chiron, called the Wounded Healer or the Rainbow Bridge. This can mean you are in the midst of a deep emotional (even physical) purging that is absolutely necessary for you to stay healthy. The magic of this alignment offers a miracle helping hand, if you are willing to ask for assistance. Lymphatic massage and drinking lots and lots of clean water are particularly helpful right now.
Sat April 15
Venus turns direct: Lovely planetary news today! Venus completes the retrograde that began on March 4th. Back then, she was setting as the Evening Star, now Venus rises as the bright Morning Star. Out of your inner reflections and shifts of early spring concerning what your heart desires, what feeds your soul, with this turning, you can begin to take more conscious action going forward. By mid-May, the fullness of fruition will be visible outwardly of all you set in motion inwardly. As within, so without. Witness this beautiful revelation of Venus’s Light each morning, just before sunrise.
Sun April 16
Moon/Saturn conjunction in Sagittarius: This monthly alignment can bring some kind of birth into your life. Perhaps you are completing a project today, or arriving at a final decision, or discovering a new way to view a situation.Sagittarius is about vision, big picture thinking and Higher Mind.
Mars in Taurus sextile Venus in Chiron: This caring and supportive aspect makes it easy to do what you love, and love what you do. Venus rules what we love and value, and Mars sets things in motion.
Mon April 17
Sun in Aries trine Saturn in Sagittarius: Easy discipline and exceptional focus are part of this alignment. Both planets are in fire signs, so what you might want to focus on requires risk or taking a different approach to an old problem.
Mars in Taurus quincunx Saturn in Sagittarius: Mars in Taurus is very practical and financially-minded, while Saturn in Sagittarius is more visionary, even ungrounded. Use this aspect to examine your budget as see if what you dream is do-able, and if not, come up with a plan to manifest the physical resources you will need.
Tue April 18
Moon/Juno/Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius: The Moon shows us often where our emotional focus is manifesting on any given day. With today’s alignment with partnership Juno and transformational Pluto, this can be a day of honest, searingly direct conversations with your partners.
LAST QUARTER MOON
Here is a description of the qualities of the Last Quarter Moon phase compliments of my friend and sidereal colleague, Nick Anthony Fiorenza at Lunar Planner:
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. A sense of completion comes forth with a recognition that the past scenario has served its purpose and it is time to leave what is antiquated behind. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.”

Wed April 19
Moon in Capricorn square Sun in Aries: Ambitious Moon in Capricorn helps you create lasting results based upon your Sun in Aries courageous initiatives.
Sun/Mercury retrograde conjunction in Aries: You can experience a download of insights, ideas, inspiration with this pinpointed alignment of mental Mercury with the illuminating Sun. Excellent for focusing on intellectual work, seeing clearly with your Third Eye, the place of that unites our often dueling left and right brains.
Thu April 20
Pluto turns retrograde: Pluto now turns retrograde until September 28. This slow-moving turning point supports you in the coming months to eliminate or cleanse that which is no longer needed or necessary in your life. Pluto always supports us not being weighed down by clutter, baggage, that which no longer serves our greater health. You may be entering a phase of fundamental restructuring of the foundations upon which you stand.
Fri April 21
Venus in Pisces square Saturn in Sagittarius: This aspect is back, but this time, not so stressful as a couple weeks ago. It is excellent for focusing on finances, and for some it might entail completions in relationships.
Moon/South Lunar Node conjunction in Aquarius: Once a month, these two forces hook-up, possibly bringing an old friend back into your life. Make time for your friends today, or get involved with a community project that holds meaning for you.
Sat April 22
Moon/Neptune conjunction in Aquarius: This monthly alignment is exceptional for altruistic and artistic collaboration.
Sun April 23
Mars in Taurus square Lunar Nodes: This reasonably rare event helps you realign all aspects of your physical foundations, especially finances, toward future goals. Old debts might be paid off today.
Moon/Venus/Chiron conjunction in Pisces: This fusion of planets brings great compassion and forgiveness to our world and to our personal relationships to self and others. Consider volunteering your time at an animal or homeless shelter, a hospital, and help those beings in need to feel loved and valued.
Mon April 24
Mercury retrograde in Aries trine Saturn in Sagittarius: This aspect helps you in the logistical planning of some project or trip. With Mercury still in retrograde until May 3, you may be in the research phase, not yet willing to sign on the dotted line.
Moon/Pallas Athene conjunction in Pisces: This aspect is also good for planning, but has more to do with how you FEEL about what’s going on. Delve into your instincts and intuition and discover how they can be trustworthy guides, helping you avoid pitfalls or delays.
Tue April 25
Uranus/Moon/Mercury retrograde conjunction in Aries: This fiery, impulsive combo can be emotionally reactive, especially in terms of speaking up about what you feel. It’s a volatile conclusion to this completing SolLunar cycle as tomorrow is the New Moon. You can use the sporadic nature of this alignment to jump from task to task, finishing things up, but not necessarily in a linear fashion It can be an accident prone kind of energy so move with caution.
