This week we celebrate our third new year. The first one was Winter Solstice, Dec 21, 2013, which marked the seed point for the coming year astronomically. Then we had Jan 1 2014, which marked the calendric New Year. And finally, this week on Jan 30, 2014, we have Tibetan New Year which launches the Year of the Wooden Horse. Learn more…
The word ‘stirring’ came as part of this positive new energetic.The definition of stirring is this: causing great excitement or strong emotion, rousing. If you research the meaning behind a Wooden Horse year, you will understand how stirring this year ahead might be! Adventure, new energy, trusting your intuition to leap, sudden shifts and surprising relationships are some of the promises of this coming cycle.
This week is exceptionally stirring with the New Moon, Venus going direct, and the next installment of Jupiter opposing Pluto. PLEASE get yourself up way before dawn and look eastward to witness and experience this absolutely radiant bright Venus/Pluto conjunction.

The enthusiastic righteous Sagittarius Moon joins the several week-long alignment of Venus with Pluto. Whenever Venus~what you value, love, want to create~aligns with Pluto~obsession, biological cleansing, death and rebirth~things can get very intense even obsessive both within you and all around you. I see it in how people are driving! Drive defensively so as to avoid the unconscious crazies. There’s an intense pressure pushing each of us to find our Heartline. The Heartline is your inner directive, the truest of true norths, guiding you to what you most desire. The Plutonian influence makes everything feel like life and death right now. And that might literally be true for some. The lunar trigger to this alignment means this sky dynamic becomes even more intense. Some people may be driven over the edge, or become very aggressive in both driving and opinions. Yet this same sky portal helps others exhibit new found courage and confidence.

It’s the last day of the completing lunar cycle that started Jan 1. This means the body can be tired, yet the imagination can be more active and intuitive. Reduce external activities and increase reflective time. If you do, you will reap great rewards and guidance from within. If you are an artist, think of conceiving and conceptualizing your new work rather than feeling any pressure to produce.

Exciting news! Today marks the beginning of the Tibetan New Year. I have come to experience and deeply trust the elemental wisdom of this calendar. Being the Year of the Wooden Horse, one can imagine we are all coming into our power and passion~the energetic of Horse~while also being able to ground that wild free energy in constructive grounded directions~the energetic of Wood. See link above to learn more. This New Moon alignment takes place in mid-sidereal Capricorn, and is aligned near Sualocin, also called the Dolphin star. My prayer is this: may this celestial alignment signal the ending, once and for all, of the barbaric slaughter of Dolphins in Japan. If you haven’t yet, watch the Oscar winning film The Cove, now might be a good time – www.thecovemovie.com. Sualocin is also symbolic of being guided back to a place of safety and security, of being brought Home, in the spiritual sense. Time to return to the ground of our Being after many detours, delusions, disappointments. These were part of the process of growth, so don’t judge yourself or another. Find the forgiveness, and move forward to a more compassionate joyful existence that beckons and awaits you.

Today is another extremely dynamic day! Venus returns to forward motion from the retrograde that started on Dec 21 2013. Hopefully you spent time in reflection~the gift of planetary retrogradation~ and now you will begin to set those newly hatched desires and intentions in motion.
Equally important today is the influence of retrograde Jupiter making the second of 3 oppositions to Pluto, the final one being on April 20 2014. On the global scene, this can manifest as intense power struggles, but also the possibility that long-standing standoffs can begin to soften. This dynamic ultimately is about breaking down ego driven agendas and can be particularly hard on ego driven adults. If you are one of those types of human with who have an inordinate amount of pride and bravado, prepare to be confronted by those who no longer want to serve you. On the flip side, this aspect will give the timid more confidence and courage. Yes! Also today as Moon and Mercury align in Aquarius, emotions and ideas meld in harmony, ideally dreaming up new ways to help all in need. Aquarius’s highest gift is to care for all of Creation. All in all, this is a turning point kind of day you will remember for months and years to come.

One shift is the Moon~ruler of our emotions~ aligns with Chiron, the Centaur who carries magical healing gifts, yet also demands we face our hidden wounds. Be vulnerable today, and note the gifts that come to you when you open your heart and bare your deeper soul to those around you.

This is one of my favorite days of the year. February 2nd is Groundhog Day (mundane name) or Candlemas/Festival of Lights (sacred name) which marks the time when the Sun is halfway between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox in the northern hemisphere. The feeling of fresh spring air, the scent of bulbs, birdsong returning, traveling from below ground to above ground~this a most optimistic day. Celebrate that joy with your community as the Moon in everyone-is-a friend Aquarius, and Mercury trine the North Node~future destiny. A chance conversation with a friend or so-called stranger may rock your world, setting you back on track. Rest and recuperate from the past 5 days of stirring new beginnings. As the Moon makes a monthly conjunction to Uranus in compassionate, no boundaries Pisces, you may feel overwhelmed emotionally. Just let the tears flow, no need to figure it out, just let the sustaining healing waters of life wash over you and feel refreshed.
