Last Quarter Moon
“Going In” acrylic painting by Alison Brush
At this phase of the Moon in our current SolLunar Eclipse cycle, it’s a good idea to find some time for ‘going inward’ to discover your own portal of clarity and guidance. This week is reasonably calm in terms of astrological aspects, but it still promises to be a week full of important insights and turning points.
Many of you, like me, are sensitive barometers to Earth shifts and weather events. Whenever I have a particular kind of heart palpitation, I have come to recognize it is often linked to sunspot activity. So I immediately go to SpaceWeather to sort out what’s occurring.
This is what I learned this week from SpaceWeather: “For the past two years, the sunspot number has been dropping as the sun transitions from Solar Max to Solar Min. Fewer sunspots means there are fewer solar flares and fewer coronal mass ejections (CMEs). As these explosions subside, we deem the sun “quiet.” Goodbye sunspots, hello deep-space radiation. This type of radiation is modulated by solar activity. Solar storms and CMEs tend to sweep aside cosmic rays, making it more difficult for cosmic rays to reach Earth. On the other hand, low solar activity allows an extra dose of cosmic rays to reach our planet. Solar Maximum has passed and we are heading toward a new Solar Minimum. Forecasters expect solar activity to drop sharply in the years ahead, and cosmic rays are poised to increase accordingly. Stay tuned for more radiation.”
So what this says to me is we are being given greater access to information arriving from deep space. This incoming stream will be rich with new information, inspiration, expansive possibilities. You can tap into this stream, find your own way in, via mediation, prayer, listening, dreaming, so as to reap the rewards of this current level of cosmic information live-streaming to Earth. That’s what I will be doing!
Thank you, Alison Brush, for sharing this compelling painting. Check the diversity of Alison’s work, including animal and human portraits.

Here is a description of the qualities of the Last Quarter Moon phase compliments of my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at lunarplanner:
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. A sense of completion comes forth with a recognition that the past scenario has served its purpose and it is time to leave what is antiquated behind. Essentially a lesser self is what we will be shedding. Step forth from old facades, and free yourself from past ways of participating in life. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.”
Please note: I make my posts according to the SolLunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Last Quarter Moons. My hope is to support you to work with and within the natural flow of time, the Thirteen Moons of each year, which can help your life flow with more ease and grace. Also, I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. Thu March 31
Last Quarter Moon: Sun in Pisces square Moon/Pluto in Sagittarius: The frequently busy and completion-oriented aspect of the Last Quarter Moon is amplified today by the added touch of Moon aligning with Pluto, asking you to dig deep, with raw honesty to face the truth, the essence of Sagittarius. I know that sounds dramatic, but such is always the nature of a Moon/Pluto conjunction. It can also bring up sudden cleansing and purging, in your body, or a desire to clear your clutter.
Mercury/Uranus conjunction: This annual conjunction sparks sudden important insights flooding in, and also can create a mental wobbliness or instability. It is an aspect of mental breakdowns or breakthroughs. They are aligning in Pisces, a sign of both compassion or avoidance. You can understand what is driving you emotionally with piercing clarity with this celestial union.
Fri April 1
Venus/Ceres conjunction in Pisces: You might experience heightened emotional sensitivity with this aspect, or be momentarily flooded by strong emotions, especially in regards to losses you have faced over the course of your life. Visiting watery environments, like spas or hot springs, is a good idea. Also, make sure the water you are drinking comes from a clean source, or is adequately filtered.
Sun in Pisces quincunx Juno in Libra: I love the word quincunx. I sometimes use it interchangeably with the term of ‘inconjunct’. But ‘quincunx’ actually sounds like what it is, carrying tones of a quixotic puzzle. This astrological geometry is defined like this: to redirect, to make an adjustment. It’s as if you are being pulled in two very different ways and you have to find a way to live both truths. So often, the notion of ‘compartmentalizing’ is required. That’s this week’s astrology lesson!
So with today’s voiceless, silence-loving Sun in Pisces quincunx to conversational, relational Juno in Libra, adjustments might need to be made in how you are communicating in your key relationships. Some are more talkative, others want to just listen. Some show their love by giving advice, while others demonstrate love by giving space.
Sat April 2
Moon in Capricorn sextile Sun in Pisces: The results-oriented Moon in Capricorn makes a stimulating sextile to imaginative Sun in Pisces, nudging you to do what you need to do to make a dream happen. Take action today, just one small step. Pick up the phone for the interview, book the ticket.
Sun April 3~It’s my Birthday!
Mercury enters Aries: You may feel a sudden shift in optimism or adventurousness as Mercury, who loves to travel or learn a new language, enters exploratory, initiating Aries for the coming weeks. Your mind wants to learn something new or take a risk with this alignment. In addition, some form of calming meditation each day will ensure you can focus the fire of your mind in positive directions.
Moon/Pallas Athene conjunction sextile Mercury in Aries: This highly, creatively generative aspect is great for designing anything or creating a plan or strategy for your life going forward.
Mon April 4
Sun in Pisces quincunx Jupiter in Leo: Another adjustment quincunx! This one takes place between exuberant Jupiter in Leo pressing you to follow your creative joy by taking action, by doing. But the energy of Pisces suggests you allow what is meant to be to just happen. So today you might feel the tension between should you take action or be patient with the unfolding process? Go within, and you will know what is right for you.
Moon/Neptune conjunct in Aquarius: You may suddenly need to connect with a friend or create a gathering to explore your more alternative side. This monthly alignment is considered to be quite social, but Aquarius is also about standing alone in the face of group-think. So stand up for your values, your beliefs, your dreams, if that is asked of you today.
Tue April 5
Sun in Pisces trine Saturn in Scorpio: This productive and organized aspect gives you plenty of energy and focus throughout the day. It also gives you greater access to understand what is emotionally driving you. Be open to honest deep-feeling conversations, exposing it all.
Moon/South Lunar Node/Chiron conjunct in Aquarius: This alignment heralds yet another wave of letting go in what seems to be a never-ending cycle of release. It won’t be as rough as the previous weeks, but don’t be surprised if you shed another layer of your out-dated Self.
Wed April 6
Moon/Ceres/Venus conjunction in Pisces: It’s the last day before tomorrow’s New Moon. The energy of today is soft, watery, flowing, encouraging you to take the same stance. Relax, take the day off, and if you can, visit a favorite watery location and feel the healing power of water to shift all things with ease and grace.
