Full Moon in Gemini/Sagittarius

I write this post with a poignancy in my soul, realizing this is the last full week the elegant, genius-gifted, obviously ambitious, yet humble and kind, President Barack Obama, will be our President. Aspects this week speak to the inspired completion of a Presidency that brought out the better angels for many in our world. In perfect cosmic timing, this week’s Full Moon is linking the Sun in Sagittarius (the realm of the Angels) with Moon in sidereal Gemini (the sign of America’s birthday), an astrological sign that works with the lightest light and the darkest dark, with the potential to find integration. Times marches on, doesn’t it? Kindly, the celestial planetary Guides are offering as all a little help through the rest of January to nudge us to keep moving forward. That’s attributed to the fact that all major planets are in direct motion (meaning no retrogrades) till early February. The coming three weeks support laying the groundwork for your upcoming year/s, choosing to peer into your future with renewed faith.
Thankfully, delisting was delayed for the still-at-risk Greater Yellowstone Grizzly Bear from the Endangered Species Act. This gift of pause, will ensure others will be able to further absorb the science of their continued vulnerability, and perhaps stop the process altogether. I have faith and trust in the unseen sacred forces that work alongside the extraordinary activism and courage of our human tribe. All hands, visible and invisible, are necessary.
In an attempt to help you deal with the stressful uncertainty of the upcoming unpredictable shift in power, here’s a helpful tool: Health is in your Hands. This beautiful, easy-to-use book and card set teaches you the ancient Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, the Art of Self Healing. I have been a student and practitioner of JSJ since 1983. It’s premise is that by applying the jumper-cable of your hands to various points on the body, you can clear your own stress on a daily basis, freeing up stuck energy that leads to patterns of dis-ease, while activating the renewed flow of qi and vigor on all levels, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. Please check it out, and teach yourself this simple tool for centering and radiant vitality.

Here is a brief synopsis of the Full Moon characteristics that hold true to every Full Moon from my from my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at Lunar Planner.
“The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration. The day just after the Full Moon is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, of what the activities of the first half of the lunar cycle, culminating into the enthusiasm of the Full Moon, are really about. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”
Note: I write my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. If you work with and within the natural flow of time and supportive cosmic energies, your life will flow with more ease and grace. My interpretations and predictions are based on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. You can read about my unique way of interpreting astrology at this link: EarthWord SkyWord sidereal readings. Even NASA is onboard now with the sidereal zodiac! And you can always read about my star weather predictions from previous week’s at Star Signposts.

Thu January 12
Full Moon: Moon in Gemini opposite Sun in Sagittarius square Jupiter in Virgo: It still feels like a Super Moon to me, given the tense square of both Sun and Moon to oversized, enthusiastic, confident Jupiter (somewhat tempered in it’s current transit through cautious Virgo). It can be a Full Moon of expansive envisioning (Sagittarius) as well as coming up with a detailed plan to make it happen on Earth (Gemini). As these signs are associated with politics, great drama continues to unfold all week long. Creating a new schedule for your mind/body daily routines to stay balanced can also be part of this week. Think of yourself as an oasis of strength and wisdom, water in the desert, that can nurture others who are more challenged and challenging. Emergency and health-care workers might be especially overworked today.
Venus/Neptune conjunction in Aquarius: This auspicious annual meeting of the two planets linked to love, compassion and art, provides a portal to help us shift toward living a life based in beauty, creativity, caring, uplifting others, the nature of Aquarius. It can literally be experienced as a doorway opening to a new life, and will be highly inspirational to artists everywhere. Aquarius carries the living truth that water is Life, and that translates, too, as living life as a caring, emotionally present human being.
Fri January 13
Moon in Cancer quincunx Venus/Neptune conjunction: As we continue to integrate the awarenesses and shifts brought out with yesterday’s powerful Full Moon, this aspect helps us connect with our family members in comfort and conversation, especially while sharing a nourishing meal. This aspect can help everyone honor of the different ways various family members choose to live their lives, without trying to change them. Acceptance, allowing, differing, while still staying connected.
Sat January 14
Sun in Capricorn square Ceres in Aries: This relationship pits responsible, ambitious Capricorn in a challenging square to independent, risk-taking Aries. This stand-off, need to discuss something, might take place in your caregiving relationships, especially with children, parents and elders. I tear up as I write this, thinking of all the times I had to lovingly explain to my aging father he could no longer drive. He never gave up, never gave in, always saw himself driving again. It’s good for doing projects together, and the helpful addition of the Moon in Leo can make chores playful and fun.
Sun January 15
Moon/South Lunar Node conjunction opposite Pallas Athene/Venus/Neptune: A fun-loving, creative Sunday awaits you with this aspect. You can wake up alive with inspiration or natural joy, and feel a desire to share with friends. The mood of the day is collaborative, friendly, buoyant.
Mon January 16
Mars/Chiron conjunction in Aquarius opposite Moon in Leo: The once-every-two year conjunction of action-oriented Mars with healing, helping Chiron is a big deal for our planet. It sets in motion new partnerships of activism/activation. Under the influence of Aquarius, alliances that help the underdog or those who are greatly suffering are acutely emphatic in their activism. Time to take it to the streets for many. This aspect can also call out the need to address a long-standing wound between friends or community members, and pressures all involved to risk vulnerability and speak their honest, raw truth.
Tue January 17
Moon in Virgo square Mercury in Sagittarius: This squaring off can help everyone be less emotional about an issue and just look at the facts, and in the process, make discerning decisions that speak to a broader, expansive vision. It’s excellent for planners in all fields.
Wed January 18
Mars in Aquarius quincunx Jupiter in Virgo: This aspect supports community efforts in planning for a future that benefits the collective. Public meetings might be more combative and honest. On a more personal note, helping a friend detach from a drama and see the longer view, or rescuing your new pet, are also options.
Moon/Jupiter conjunction in Virgo: This monthly collaboration of exuberance, overdoing, big energy takes place tonight, and sometimes makes it hard to have a restful night. One can get overly-obsessed or worrying, so do your Jin Shin Jyutsu points (see my opening recommendation!) and hold your thumb or check bones to help dissolve worry and reclaim your field of trust.
