Full Moon in sidereal Aries/Libra
“Deepening Reflections” painting by Kathryn Mapes Turner
Blessed Full Moon to you! Given that this Full Moon exactly squares the Lunar Nodes (points that demarcate our past and future directions) and is conjunct Uranus (planet of shocks, surprises, breakthroughs) this promises to be a Full Moon of great import and influence. It may have been challenging to your nervous system and sleep patterns for the past week and this will only continue as we are being shaken up, awakened, catalyzed in unforeseen even unforeseeable ways. Remember Jupiter has now entered the constellation of Scorpio for the coming year. Time to dive and delve deeper into your interests, intimacies, inquiries.
It’s a notable and unusual circumstance that Election Day 2018 takes place during the last moments of a dying/completing SolLunar Cycle. That can go either way, with the old being washed away or many still blindly clinging to the past, and probably a combination of both. It’s exciting that Moon/Venus/Ceres will all meet up in a stunning conjunction that symbolizes an exceptional focus is happening in regards to women’s issues, women’s empowerment and leadership. To have this influence so strong in our planetary field will move many to the polls to vote on behalf of fairness and justice and equal treatment under the law and certainly will manifest as many women winning their seats in elected office. The momentum of the heavens is always forward and futuristic, compassionate and inclusive, so that’s where I keep my focus, heart, thoughts, prayers, intentions.
For this SolLunar Cycle, I continue to highlight the paintings of my friend, Kathryn Mapes Turner, one of our living masters of painting on Earth at this time. Please take a moment to view her extraordinary paintings here and her gallery here. Thank you, dear Kathryn.

Full Moon in sidereal Aries/Libra
“Passing Storm” painting by Kathryn Mapes Turner
Here is a brief synopsis of the Full Moon characteristics that hold true for every Full Moon from my from my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at Lunar Planner.
“The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration. The day just after the Full Moon is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, of what the activities of the first half of the lunar cycle, culminating into the enthusiasm of the Full Moon, are really about. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”
Wed October 24
Full Moon: Sun in Libra opposite Moon/Uranus in Aries square Lunar Nodes: When the teeter-tottering of a Full Moon hooks up with explosive, unpredictable Uranus, and also wobbles between the past and future Nodes, you can be assured mood swings or emotional wobbliness are full blown and intense. Especially in regards to issues linked to our relationships and justice (themes of Libra) or our freedom-loving selves seeking expression in unconventional ways. There is great courage available with this Full Moon to take necessary risks/make new choices in order to advance and for many it may seem the only choice they have is to try something different and out of the normal comfort zone. It might take extra energy and focus to keep yourself sane and reasonably balanced over these few days, breathing often, moving the body, calming your nervous system.
Thu October 25
Moon in Aries opposite Mercury in Libra: This aspect involves indecisively shifting between what you think you should do (Mercury) and what you feel you should do (Moon) but it also offers a balanced perspective so you can see a new way of viewing a situation or relationship quandary.
Fri October 26
Sun/Venus retrograde conjunction in Libra: Remember, sky watchers, how all summer we viewed Venus right after sunset as she was catching up the Sun? Today’s transit is the moment in which Venus enters her upcoming Morning Star phase, not yet visible to our eyes for a few more weeks. But you might feel this shift if you are paying attention to a heart-calling, tug, or desire. As Venus emerges from her retrograde on November 16, and then her shadow period on December 16, you are quite likely to give birth to new conditions/projects/relationship by the end of this year.
Moon/Juno conjunction in Taurus opposite Jupiter in Scorpio: When Juno is highlighted, you tend to connect in meaningful ways with partners, either intimate or casual. This aspect can lead to important financial dealings, new real estate partnerships, and physical intimacy.
Sat October 27
Moon in Taurus: The transit of the Moon through each astrological sign can signify how you might emotionally experience the day. The steadiness, grounded and stable nature of Taurus can bring out a desire for more emotional security. Or you might feel determined and stubborn and nothing will budge you or convince you otherwise about something you care about. The square to Neptune can pit reality against fantasy or help you take practical steps to ground your dream in this physical dimension.
Sun October 28
Moon in Gemini square Chiron in Pisces/Pallas Athene in Virgo opposite Saturn in Sagittarius: This is highly productive but tense aspect is working our minds/mental health in both challenging and creative ways. This can lead to the need to tweak a current design or project or help you view a situation from a new perspective. You might feel frustrated keep going and bust through procrastination, doubt, seeming hurdles.
Mon October 29
Mercury/Jupiter conjunction in Scorpio: This aspect is secretive, probing, poker-faced and it most assuredly uncovers what it seeks to discover. This exact conjunction leads to an exceptionally accurate mental focus capable of cutting-edge research, an increased depth of knowledge emerging, or a revelation of deep secrets intuitively known.
Tue October 30
Mercury/Jupiter in Scorpio opposite Juno in Taurus: Yesterday’s laser-sharp mind continues today and becomes more focused on partnerships/alliances you are currently involved with. Beware of interrogating your partners like they are on trial and steer clear of paranoia, another possibility given Scorpio’s influence.
Moon/North Lunar Node conjunction in Cancer: You can receive news about completion of a family matter or feel more ready to release the past, move into a new home or space, take items to good-will, all due to the influence of the futuristic North Lunar Node and the sign of Cancer.
Last Quarter Moon
“A Very Simple Secret” painting by Kathryn Mapes Turner
Here is a description of the qualities of the Last Quarter Moon phase compliments of my friend and sidereal colleague, Nick Anthony Fiorenza at Lunar Planner:
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.”
Wed October 31
Last Quarter Moon: Moon in Cancer opposite Sun in Libra: The Last Quarter Square of a SolLunar Cycle often creates a crisis or forces a need to take action in some way. These astrological signs involve familial relationships including how we treat neighbors or strangers as either friend, foe or other. Today’s square can be combative or simply pressure you to take a stand based on your belief system, values, morals.
Venus retrograde in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries square Lunar Nodes: A dynamic turning point is at hand with this aspect although some may experience it more internally than through external events due to the reality that Venus is still in retrograde/reflective mode. It can be time to take a second look at options, relationships, feel a sudden need to break it off or suddenly take a leap of faith based on your intuition and instinct.
Thu November 1
Moon in Cancer opposite Mars in Capricorn: This aspect can spark an edginess in your mood or in your communications with others. As the signs of Cancer/Capricorn rule parenting, battles-of-the-wills may arise between children and their caregivers or with one’s parents.
Fri November 2 – Sat November 3
Jupiter in Scorpio opposite Juno in Taurus: As this aspect completes it’s opposition, new financial arrangements may be made or expanded, and hopeful intimacy is unfurling within some romances. It’s wonderful for planning new adventures with a beloved or upgrading your home-life in some way. Sometimes the opposition aspect manifests as stand-offs, so direct discussions about money/intimacy/values may ensue.
Moon in Leo sextile Sun in Libra: The monthly rendezvous of the Moon in playful, recreational childlike, creative Leo suggests your engage in more of those kinds of activities during this two day period. Working shorter hours or taking a fun-day works well, too! Libra’s influence brings out sociability and peace-making within our interactions.
Sun November 4
Moon/Pallas Athene in Virgo square Saturn in Sagittarius: This mentally brilliant aspect is good for refining, editing, analyzing, redesigning whatever you are working on. Politicians are reworking their final Election Day strategies with clarity and gusto.
Mon November 5
Moon in Virgo trine Mars in Capricorn: The exceptionally smart, together, dedicated Virgo Moon continues today and the addition of Mars creates more action and forward momentum on all fronts.
Moon/Venus retrograde/Ceres conjunction in Libra: This lovely aspect symbolizes an exceptional focus in regards to women’s issues, women’s empowerment and leadership. To have this influence so strong in our planetary field will move many to the polls to vote on behalf of fairness and justice and equal treatment under the law and certainly will manifest as many women winning their seats in elected office.
Tue November 6 ~ ELECTION DAY
Balsamic Moon: Sun/Moon in sidereal Libra: Interesting that at this point in our galactic sidereal orientation, America’s National Election Day always takes place in sidereal Libra, a sign that symbolizes bringing things back to balance and justice, especially if things in the previous two years have gotten out of balance, even downright illegal. It’s a notable and unusual circumstance that Election Day 2018 takes place during the last moments of a dying/completing SolLunar Cycle. That can go either way, with the old being washed away or many still blindly clinging to the past and probably a combination of both.
Happy New Moon tomorrow! I may be posting a day late in order to contemplate the results of this very important Election.
