“Mirak” painting by Amber Jean
I have spent nearly five decades engaged in consciousness-raising practices and events, both for self-growth and helping others, always grateful for the progress we humans are making slowly over time. I recall how in the late 1960’s, our family was on vacation in San Francisco at the height of revolutionary trends that were sweeping America. My radical Mom thought is was wild and wonderful and my more conservative Dad thought it was the end of the world. And here we are again.
November was a shock to my being in every way. The potential right now for so many hard-won advancements for all colors and types of humans as well as the many other beings we share our sacred Earth with could be systematically dismantled and destroyed. This is not about politics or party affiliation. More broadly and deeply these times are about what kind of humans do we want to be. What kind of human experience do we want to co-create? Will we orient our future human species toward the love-based, inclusive principles of the sacred feminine/sacred masculine or return to the dark ages where fear of others and seeking to dominate and control them takes over with unchecked savagery?
I take heart in the phrase “we are not going back” which mirrors the astrological influences currently happening as well. This past SolLunar Cycle brought and brings ongoing grief to my heart as I continue to adjust daily, to get back up, keep going, and pray for clarity about where to put my attention, time and energy going forward. The Aquarian Age, which we are inexorably moving toward, is about the shared power of individuals to chart the course of our future history. It is not about one leader, but honors that everyone has the responsibility and gift of being the leader of their life, being authentic and creating the world they desire which is different and unique for everyone.
Recently I heard the phrase “curate your vibration, your energy-field”. This resonates with me and helps me know I am not a victim of the times but rather a powerful co-creator with humanity. This seems to be an essential life-skill right now to stay calm, centered, focused, happy during the chaos of the times. Curate has a number of definitions. These speak to me: to select the best or most appropriate and to have the care and superintendence of something. Superintendence speaks to the idea of intention, what are we intending to create. To be the Superintendent is to be the boss of your life, taking full responsibility for your life’s choices. How will you curate your life experience—what is best and most appropriate for you—to ensure you are surrounded by the support you need to grow and thrive?
This New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Scorpio is sure to bring increased transformation as we both quickly leave the past behind and launch into the intensity of the times. Scorpio can be about power dynamics, and cultural shifts regarding financial resources, sexual energy. You might take a deep dive into understanding your unconscious or conscious motivations and habits. Explore the ways you try to control life versus being open to experiencing the daily mystery unfolding in support of your highest good.
Also during this month, the once-every-two-year retrograde of Mars begins on December 6 – February 23 2025. This transit can bring conflicts to the surface, eventually leading to resolutions. It can slow things down, especially via injuries or surgeries so pay keen attention and move cautiously. Mars will transit both Cancer and Gemini, signs linked to families and siblings so shifts can happen regarding those relatonships.
Other celestial happenings this month are Mercury completes its current retrograde on December 15, the same day as the dynamic Full Moon. And holy Winter Solstice thankfully arrives on December 20 at 2:20 am MT.
Wishing you peace, calm, joy and holy time with your beloveds as we close out 2024. To new beginnings.
NOTE: When reading my daily entries, remember that the influence of each aspect is like a wave — it crescendos a day or two, sometimes a week, before it happens, crests on the day it is exact, then dissipates over the following days. People experience the transits of planets at different times depending on their sensitivity and life events.

Sidereal Astrology Mentoring and Readings
MY POSTS: My posts are based on the true astronomical alignments of the planets with the constellations, also referred to as the sidereal zodiac. This zodiac is energetically in synch with the forces of the Universe beaming down on us and thus mirrors extraordinary accuracy in understanding how transits are working with us. My mentor and colleague, Nick Anthony Fiorenza—now in spirit—wrote his seminal book, Introduction to Astronomical Astrology which I can now share for free if you are interested in learning from a master teacher
I use the phases of the Moon as the scaffold for my posts because the Moon functions like an energetic portal mediating between the heavens and our wondrous Earth. My entries are based on the aspects occurring each week as they crescendo, crest and dissipate over the course of their influence. As you work with and within the natural flow of time and the supportive cosmic energies that each unique SolLunar Cycle brings, life can flow with more ease, grace and understanding.
MY SERVICES: I delight in mentoring students — individually, with families or groups, via workshops and conferences — who want to learn more about how to use sidereal astrology as a helpful tool for insight, evolution, creativity and well-being. I offer speaking engagements for your gatherings or groups to understand big picture astrology events affecting us all. Consider booking a reading with me, either a Full Natal Map, mini-readings for $44 or $88 or my other offerings like the Relationship Map, Child or AdolEssence Map for your children or the Business Map which helps your team succeed and thrive in. I offer SHE Sessions: Self Help Energywork in which I teach you tools to create greater health and balance for yourself. My poetry book, Out of the Flames/Blue Bison Press, is available on my website. Thank you!
