Overview
It is time, SolLunar and cosmic time, for yet another Star Signposts in which I attempt to discuss the upcoming astrological weather and how it might take shape here on Earth. I often remind my clients when I am doing an astrological reading for them that the planets do not cause things to happen, but that the universal language of astrology offers a synchronistic mirroring of heavenly happenings above to events occurring on Earth below. These planetary and Earthly linkages are both mysterious and accurate.
Welcome to our New SolLunar Cycle aligned astronomically in sidereal Cancer and conjunct the powerful dwarf planet of Ceres. The sign of Cancer represents our family relations and ancestor/lineage issues. It is also one of the signs governing everything to do with food in terms of production, preparation, dietary issues regarding the health and habits of food we consume. And interestingly, these focuses are the same for Ceres transiting Cancer. Ceres, or Demeter, called the Goddess of the Grain. In addition, Ceres helps guide us toward knowing what is nourishing to our being on every level.
It can be helpful to re-read the Overview of the previous Cycle to review what happened for you last month as that often sets the stage for the upcoming Cycles, all linked, all in progression. The last SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Gemini revealed issues linked to our shadow, unconscious forces at work in our subterranean lives, often played out in our relationships with others. Now in our New SolLunar Cycle we are encouraged to delve deeper into the understanding and healing of trauma linked to our ancestral lines—the stories that live in our DNA—while also claiming the gifts that are part of our cherished legacy. The next four weeks can be a time of focus on ancestor healing, via various counseling tools available for this kind of work, or simply because you will be with your family members and situations will arise, offering a chance to confront the old story and build bridges to a new family dynamic. There is a positive trine of generous, optimistic Jupiter to this New Moon which bodes well for good vibes and wonderful opportunities.
There are other fierce forces coming to the fore in the next four weeks. On July 31-August 1, both Mars and Uranus make a rare alignment with the North Lunar Node in Aries, offering a giant catapult toward the future, either by choice or by some kind of pressure coming from your environment—which can include fire/heat events mirrored by the Aries influence. The Full Moon in Cancer/Capricorn of Thu August 11 is more serious in tone as it is linked to Saturn. Uranus in Aries will turn retrograde on August 24 until Jan 12 2023, which always sparks a wild and crazy time. I know I say this often in these posts, but this looks to be another consequential New SolLunar Cycle.
Thank you, dear friend, Victoria Blumberg, for allowing me to share your intimate flower portraits that honor this fleeting summer and its many gifts of beauty, abundance, nourishment. View more of Victoria’s stunning work here.
Sidereal Astrology Mentoring and Readings
My posts are based on the true astronomical alignments of the planets with the constellations, also referred to as the sidereal zodiac. I use the phases of the Moon as the scaffold for my posts because the Moon functions like an energetic portal mediating between the heavens and our wondrous Earth. My entries are based on the aspects occurring each week as they crescendo, crest and dissipate over the course of their influence. As you work with and within the natural flow of time and the supportive cosmic energies that each unique SolLunar Cycle brings, life can flow with more ease, grace and understanding.
I delight in mentoring students—individually, with families or groups, and via workshops and conferences—who want to learn more about how to use sidereal astrology as a helpful tool for insight and awakening. Consider booking a mini-reading with me for $44 or $88, the numbers of living your Mastery on Earth. In these short readings, I discuss key personal transits that are happening for you in 2022 and beyond. Send me an email if you are interested in those options, or a full Natal Map, Update, Relationship Map, Young Adult or Child’s Map. Thank you!

Jupiter in Pisces turns retrograde: Thu July 28 – Wed November 23
This is fascinating: Jupiter in Pisces turns retrograde on today’s New Moon and when it turns direst on November 23, it will also a New Moon in Scorpio! That makes the power of this already momentous annual event that much more important in terms of new beginnings for all. As Jupiter rules our social and political realms, it is likely major historic events will be part of these turnings.
When massive Jupiter shifts directions in its relationship to Earth, it is big celestial news. Take stock of any desires, goals, stirrings you have been committing to as this is a moment to be as clear as you can about what you want to accomplish or hope will happen, or, just open yourself to the blank canvas of new life emerging and ask your Guides for assistance in taking each next step in the moment. You can use the next five months of the retrograde period to help you finish projects that you are ready to birth, or to research, reevaluate your options until your become more certain about how to proceed. Pisces, the sign Jupiter is currently transiting through, is the ruler of mystics, poets, musicians, governs the the invisible world of spiritual principles, altered states of consciousness, other dimensions we exist embedded within. As this transit happens once every twelve years, this is a profound time to do inner work, delving deeper into your spiritual or creative work. Jupiter in Pisces will often bring life-ending shifts as some people choose to use this positive portal to complete their current earthly incarnation. Old griefs or grievances may arise and be forgiven. Slow down, listen more, become more centered in your deeper self and knowing.

Today marks the day in our Northern Hemisphere halfway between Summer Solstice and Autumnal Equinox. The impending end of summer is experienced in the light, in the air, and in the drying vegetation. Lammas is part of a trilogy of harvests. It is called the First Harvest of the Grain, with the Second Harvest of Fruit on Autumnal Equinox on September 22, then the Final Harvest of Nuts and Berries on Halloween on October 31. This notion of harvest is also linked to harvesting the wisdom and creative endeavors that have marked your 2022.
