New SolLunar Cycle in Aries
“Sunrise” photograph by Claire Dibble
Our last SolLunar Cycle, tied to watery, intuitive Pisces and Wounded Healer Chiron, brought huge emotional clearings and fostered an emerging clarity to our lives. In extraordinary contrast, we now leap into this New SolLunar Cycle in independent, pioneering, fired-up Aries. It’s time for shock waves and earthquaking events as both Sun and Moon also team up with revolutionary Uranus and the great disrupter, Eris.
And there’s more chaos on the way. Here’s a forewarning: Mars and Pluto will make a once-every-two-year conjunction in sidereal Sagittarius on April 26. “The Scream Emoji” (you know that one?) might be applicable here. Read about the intensity of this extraordinary pairing and planetary implications below.
Thank you, dear Claire Dibble for the use of your red/orange Aries-inspired photographs for this SolLunar Cycle. Please take time to view Claire’s extensive, beautiful, global photographic work at her website.

MINI-READINGS: Consider a sidereal mini-reading with me for $44 (the number of living your Mastery on Earth). I will discuss where last year’s historic Total Solar Eclipse is still taking place in your chart, along with other personal transits for 2018. You will get a whole lot of information! Please send me an email if that is of interest to you. Thank you!
I post twice a month, on the New Moon (which includes the two weeks of New Moon and First Quarter Moon) and on the Full Moon (which includes the two weeks of Full Moon and Last Quarter Moon). As you work with and within the natural flow of time and supportive cosmic energies of each unique SolLunar Cycle, life will flow with more ease and grace. My interpretations and predictions are based on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. You can read about my unique way of interpreting astrology at this link: EarthWord SkyWord sidereal readings. Even NASA is onboard now with the sidereal zodiac!

New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Aries
“Spherical Lichen” photograph by Claire Dibble
Here is a list of New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from LunarPlanner:
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, a new theme emerges, a new idea or concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen.”
Sun April 15
Sun/Moon/Uranus in Aries: As the Sun sets tonight, our next shockwave New SolLunar Cycle begins. Both Sun and Moon line up with Uranus and Eris, linked to planetary disruption and breaking free of old history and conditioning. If you can, take some quiet time this evening to attune to how this breakthrough energy seeks to manifest as the planetary orbit of YOU. You are one of a kind. Honor the complete uniqueness of YOU in this Universe, another attribute of Uranus. This entire four-week period is sure to rock our world with conflicts and warfare, as well as manifest as the courage of many individuals to take a stand against injustice. For others, it will be time to awaken from the slumber of being a follower, especially of ego-driven authoritarians or gurus, and instead act upon the truth of one’s own experience. Or experience a rude awakening from their previous denials. This SolLunar theme of independent thought and exhibiting courage is the leading theme for the upcoming surprising events ahead in 2018.
Mercury in Pisces turns direct: In perfect cosmic timing, our planet of communication, Mercury, leaves it’s retrograde (introspection) of the last SolLunar Cycle and turns toward the future again. Time to take those percolating ideas of the last three weeks and find ways to manifest them into your world. Mercury in Pisces taught us to listen, listen deeply to what feels right, and not to overthink or analyze. It thereby strengthened our trust in our own intuitive insights. Such a gift we just received during this period. By May when the ‘shadow’ period of this retrograde cycle is complete, you are able to more fully share what you learned about yourself with those around you.
Mon April 16
Venus in Aries opposite Jupiter in Libra: This extraordinary event involves our brightest luminous planets. At sunset, Venus will set in the west, and Jupiter will rise in the east in an exact opposition to one another. In this case the word ‘opposition’ isn’t a negative thing, but a force of great amplification and moment of clarity involving all things of the heart and our creative expression. It is a giant love portal, creating a sense of being supported generously by the universal forces. You can most benefit from this gift by holding the attitude of gratitude, giving thanks for the many blessings you already have, while also give thanks for what you desire going forward, as if it has already happened. It is an evening of extraordinary ceremonial power.
Moon in Aries square Ceres in Cancer/Lunar Nodes: This marks new beginnings in relationship to your home environment or with an elder or parent. Family members might retreat to their own spaces tonight, so don’t be clingy if the kids need to do their own thing.
Tue April 17
Saturn in sidereal Sagittarius turns retrograde: The planet that governs the overall infrastructure of our lives, Saturn, now heads into it’s annual retrograde until September 6. Whatever it is you seek to create in physical form in your life, this retrograde period is good for either doing research, dismantling the old forms (such as a house deconstruction/reconstruction project) and refocusing your energy into daily routines that support your health and happiness. This cycle is profoundly tied to our political dramas (Sagittarius) and our justice system (Saturn as the ruler of laws) and supports justice being served.
Moon/Venus conjunct in Aries: Step outside at sunset to witness this monthly, holy and inspiring paring of the crescent Moon (all things are possible and new) and brightest-of-the-Lights, Venus. A miracle to behold and be held within. See what insights trickle in as you appreciate it’s beauty and wonder.
Venus in Aries trine Pluto in Sagittarius: This aspect brings a positive shift or good news if you are willing to courageously take the leap your heart is longing to take or create in your life.
Wed April 18
Sun/Uranus conjunction in Aries: This explosive pairing happens once a year, creating shock waves around the world, sudden weather events, electrical or neurological short-circuits. It encourages bold action, breaking free of the old, and supports experimentation in all things. Erratic people get more erratic and unpredictable so be on guard and drive defensively if you don’t want to get caught up in someone else’s chaotic field.
Moon/Pallas Athene conjunction in Taurus: This paring happens later in the evening and can stir up a desire to stay up later to plan, organize, strategize your next steps.
Thu April 19
Moon in Taurus quincunx Mars/Pluto in Sagittarius: Be a practical visionary and bring your lofty vision down to Earth. Research the cost of the trip you want to take, the project you seek to build, or sign up for the educational class that is speaks to your student-self. This energy also helps you excel in athletic explorations.
Fri April 20
Moon in Gemini square Chiron/Juno in Pisces: Curious, questioning Moon in Gemini asks probing questions to one’s mate, colleagues, anyone, and is willing to address a shadow issue, unhealthy behaviors or a hidden wound. Mental health professionals are working full-tilt today helping many who seek last minute appointments.
Moon in Gemini square Mercury in Pisces: Similar to the above aspect, this one is excellent for talking through any problems and discovering how to honor both thoughts and feelings in making a decision. It’s good for shopping for spiritually-oriented items or discovering new music.
Sat April 21
Moon in Gemini opposite Mars/Pluto in Sagittarius: People are fired up and impassioned about their ideals and opinions and are expressing them voraciously, openly, which leads to both open warfare or honest truth-telling.
Venus in Taurus sextile Juno in Pisces: Alongside the above hot-tempered aspect, we also have this kinder, more gentle one of loving, security-oriented Venus in Taurus to show-compassion-to-your-beloved, Juno in Pisces. It’s perfect for a couple’s massage, or visiting your favorite bodyworker, or a sensual date outside, exploring the healing energies of earthy and watery environments.

First Quarter Moon
“Spirit Bells” photograph by Claire Dibble
Here’s a list of the First Quarter Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza ~ www.lunarplanner.com
“The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Now is the time to drop all hesitation and take the steps to move forth on what you were inspired about…it is time to now participate in trust and knowing. Trust in the process. Demonstrate this trust in physical action and you will be supported. This time is stressful or traumatic only if action is ignored. Simply, this phase is a time to work.”
Sun April 22
First Quarter Moon: Moon in Cancer square Sun/Uranus in Ceres: This day in each SolLunar Cycle pressures you internally or externally to take action, leading to major house-cleaning this Sunday or possible confrontations with family members (both are Cancer’s domains). Uranus is still influencing everyone to break out of the old mold (Cancer) to find a more exciting, refreshing way to see life and it’s endless possibilities (Aries). Don’t get moldy, be bolder!
Pluto in Sagittarius turns retrograde: Tiny yet mighty Pluto turns retrograde until September 30. Slow-moving Pluto oversees the deep-seated changes our entire planet is undergoing, often showing up as destructive events that ultimately give way to a healthier long-range wholeness. Use this retrograde period for you own cosmic recycling. Release what no longer serves you, or allow it to be taken from you, trusting change is good and healthy. To age well is to become even more powerful in expressing one’s authenticity and wisdom, and that is tied to claiming your power (Pluto’s domain) and not playing small.
Moon/Ceres conjunction in Cancer: This aspect can lead to late-night housecleaning or heartfelt conversations with family members. Snuggle together to watch a movie.
Mon April 23
Moon/North Lunar Node conjunction in Cancer: The North Lunar Node holds clues about your future self, while the Moon in Cancer knows your deep history. It’s like your memory bank. This aspect can lead to important dreams that awaken you this early morning. Or you may hear news about someone from your past, even in a spirit visitation.
Tue April 24
Sun in Aries trine Vesta in Sagittarius: This dynamic and productive aspect fuels your fire all day long. It supports personal and professional courage to create longer-range plans, seeing more possibilities than previously imagined. Vesta rules financial investments, too, so it’s a good day to ‘green’ up your portfolio so your money is only supporting the things you care about.
Moon in Leo square Venus in Taurus: The geometry of the square aspect creates tension, forces choices. You might find something beautiful you want to purchase but not sure you can afford it. You might also want to play but need to focus on work. There’s always layaway! And you can both work and play in one day!
Wed April 25
Mercury in Pisces square Saturn retrograde in Sagittarius: Remember that you are now bringing those Mercury retrograde ideas of early spring into budding form. Today’s square to Saturn helps you make a plan. It can also create a tension between seeking an ‘experts’ help or trusting your own gut instinct or intuition. You might feel a temporary darker mood wash over you, and just let it wash on through. It will pass as it does it’s cleansing work. All is well.
Thu April 26
Mars/Pluto conjunction in sidereal Sagittarius: Inferno is perhaps the best word for this once-every-two-years conjunction. Especially when action-driven Mars and willful Pluto meet up in truth-seeking, dogmatic Sagittarius. This can be an extremely frustrating period for many resulting in increased road rage, inflammation in the body/psyche, confrontations, and conflagrations. Today also marks a turning point in the current inferno of our political drama. Mars is associated with personal will (personality) while Pluto is connected to the idea of Divine Will (one’s Higher Self). May you harness the vitality of this fiery gift to your own best ends. In spiritual tradition, claim the I AM (who you are) and the I WILL (what you will act and create in our miraculous and abundant world).
Pallas Athene in Taurus square Neptune in Aquarius: Both these planets rule the power of our imaginations to create the world we want to see. Overcome your own doubt and take the next step today. Seize the manifestation of the statements ‘I AM, I WILL’, and claim your own power to make it so. In addition, you may need to rethink a strategy or financial plan might or a deception might be brought to light.
Moon in Virgo opposite Juno/Chiron in Pisces: The monthly Virgo Moon works extra hard and seeks to find helpful solutions to any problem. But sometimes Virgo can also create more work or problems given it’s perfectionistic, nit-picking nature. Supportive, caring partners might appear today to help you, so don’t try to do it perfectly, all on your own. Accept the gift, if that feels right.
Fri April 27
Moon in Virgo opposite Mercury in Pisces: Lots of things get accomplished today, if that is your goal. In a dispute or conversation, the opposition aspect can mean one person is more the ‘thinker’ and the other one is more the ‘feeler’. Thankfully both emotional intelligence, and intelligent (versus irrational) emotion can be expressed with this aspect.
Sat April 28
Moon in Virgo square Mars/Pluto in Sagittarius: Virgo’s calming temperance helps channel the Mars/Pluto inferno in constructive directions. This aspect leads to a project-oriented Saturday with plenty of energy and productivity.
Moon in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries: This aspect can make for erratic, nervous sleep (especially given it is Full Moon tomorrow afternoon) so be sure to utilize your bedtime calming routines this evening. Happy almost Full Moon!
