New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Pisces – March 27 – April 2
“Eclipse” detail of painting by Adam Paol Seagram
Happy New Moon! We are enter a fast-moving confluence of planetary forces that might make you dizzy with possibility or beset you with confusion. The second of three challenging squares of Jupiter to Pluto takes place on March 30, often showing up as shift in power, egos gone mad, or secrets revealed. During the next four weeks, Venus will turn direct again, but Mercury, Saturn and Pluto will turn retrograde. Mars and Ceres are teaming up in a new two year cycle that encourages activism on behalf our environmental, food concerns and catastrophes, and issues involving women, children, and animals, all populations that are often left to fend for themselves in the face of patriarchal egos gone mad.
I believe we are already in full-on, full-swing, full-scale preparation for the upcoming monumental Total Solar Eclipse of August 21, 2017. With so many forces pushing us hard, it seems even more important to GET GROUNDED by whatever means is best for you. Daily movement, healthy clean food, meditative practices, sleep calming techniques are essential. It will help, too, to set intentions, say prayers, everyday, if not every few hours, so you can stay centered for those around you, who rely on you.
Thank you my friend, Adam, for the gift of being able to post your exquisite, complex, prescient and visionary painting, Eclipse.

Here is a list of New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from LunarPlanner:
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, a new theme emerges, a new idea or concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen.”

Here’s a Star Walk depiction of the New SolLunar cycle in sidereal Pisces:
Mon March 27
New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Pisces: Both Sun and Moon align today in Pisces, a complex sign with some contradictions. There are two fishes in Pisces, one leaping toward the Heavens to awakening and the other stuck on Earth, mired in drama and suffering. Pisces is compassionate, addictive, escapist, poetic, musical, mystical, reverent. So you see, you have many ways you can use this energy in terms of your own life choices, on any given day, or in choosing how you want your life to unfold. And this cycle will be about making those choices. You may be dealing with some tiredness or feel internally still with this New Moon. If so, sit quietly, listen, channel a poem or a song, or remember the desire to write and sing again.
Mars in Aries sextile Neptune in Aquarius: This aspect delivers helpful and supportive connections between friends, colleagues, or you are drawn to actively help someone with a task or sorting through an issue. Neptune offers the viewpoint of compassion and forgiveness, and re-uniting with someone is also a possibility.
Tue March 28
Moon in Pisces opposite Jupiter conjunct Uranus square Pluto: Even though the Moon in Pisces is flexible and kind, lunar aspects to these powerhouse planets make for a dynamic day of emotional expression. Pisces can be secretive, so these energies can draw forth a willingness to be more vulnerable, or provide a disturbing revelation rising from your subconscious waters.
Wed March 29
Mars in Aries trine Juno in Sagittarius: This collaborative, cooperative trine between stand-your-ground Mars and partnership Juno can find common ground more easily between personal and professional partners. It’s superb for meeting up for an athletic date with someone or discovering new partners who share your activist interests. It’s a day to get stuff done with a beloved with easy compatibility and cooperation.
Mercury/Moon in Aries trine Saturn in Sagittatius: The highly spontaneous and communicative conjunction of Mercury/Moon (gifted at speaking straight from the heart, no filter) makes a happy trine to productive Saturn. This aspect is good for brainstorming new solutions, and encourages immediate implementation of the emerging idea.
Thu March 30
Jupiter retrograde in Virgo square Pluto in Sagittarius: The dynamism and excavation energy of this historic square can bring full-scale battles between the Zeuss’ of the world, those vying for more power, money, control. There can begin to be ‘corrections’ in the stock market, or a turn of events that has building for some time. This transit started November 24, 2016, and will complete on August 4, 2017. The middle transit marks a turning point. Yet because Jupiter is in reclusive retrograde until June 9, it may not be yet visible what’s occurring underground, behind the scenes. We need to have faith and trust that things are proceeding in a good direction in terms of the goals we have personally and collectively set in motion. Eventually, secrets will be revealed that have been hidden, and a new balance of power is possible.
Moon/Mars/Ceres conjunction in Aries: New initiatives are launched, or shared interests are discovered, especially between women. And woman will feel more assertive, ensuring their needs are being heard. Competitiveness or spats between women might occur as well. Time to be forthright without being aggressive or overly domineering. Courageous women leaders take the lead in today’s headlines.
Fri March 31
Moon in Taurus sextile Venus retrograde in Pisces: At last, it’s a milder forecast today with this nurturing aspect. It makes it easy to ask for what you need and want, while also providing emotional and physical comfort and care to those around you.
Sat April 1
Venus retrograde/Pallas Athene conjunction in Pisces: This encourages you to re-think your plan going forward based on incoming information. If you are a quilter or working on a painting, you suddenly want to change the design. This planetary portal is also teaching us to follow our intuitive signals to avoid detours and delays.
Ceres in Aries quincunx Jupiter retrograde in Virgo: An adjustment needs to be made in plans involving important community plans and collaborations. Don’t push something through if there is major resistance. Allow for more dialogue, discussion, reflection before moving forward.
Sun April 2
Moon in Gemini sextile Mercury in Aries/North Lunar Node in Leo: This friendly, dynamic paring makes for a day of easy conversation, fun social events, spontaneous celebrations.

First Quarter Moon ~ April 3 – 9
“Eclipse” full painting by Adam Paol Seagram
Here’s a list of the First Quarter Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza ~ www.lunarplanner.com
“The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Now is the time to drop all hesitation and take the steps to move forth on what you were inspired about…it is time to now participate in trust and knowing. Trust in the process. Demonstrate this trust in physical action and you will be supported. This time is stressful or traumatic only if action is ignored. Simply, this phase is a time to work.”
~~~~~
Mon April 3
First Quarter Moon: Moon in Gemini square Sun in Pisces: The talkative, detached Gemini Moon squares off with the silent, sensitive Sun in Pisces, making it good for both listening and speaking. For writers, this is about taking action to get your words on the page. No more procrastination! (This speaks to me as it’s my Birthday and one of the goals for my Solar Return!) Because the Moon is opposite partnership Juno, this coming week might see lots of action surrounding your key partners, with important decisions being set in motion. or asking others for help.
Tue April 4
Sun in Pisces square Juno in Sagittarius: The theme of clarity and decisions in key partnerships continues today with this tense square. It’s good for confronting indecision, examining a contract, as you discuss what might be next.
Moon/Vesta conjunction in Gemini: This super-talkative, curious aspect can also make it hard to pin something down. A better use is to just explore the many options you have, and talk talk talk. Don’t be attached to deciding one way or the other just yet.
Moon in Cancer square Mercury in Aries: This argumentative aspect can make one person more aggressive and another more passive. Saying what’s directly on your mind can hurt another family member’s feelings, which they may try to hide, given the nature of the Moon in Cancer.
Wed April 5
Saturn turns retrograde: There can be an air of heaviness, foreboding, exhaustion, seriousness as Saturn halts in the heavens and turns retrograde until August 25. Perhaps you have set in motion a new plan in your heart, and now you can use this five month period to reorganize your life to make it happen. Saturn governs the dedicated hard work it usually takes to accomplish our goals. Saturn takes time, is the ruler of Time. No need to rush. Just do a little bit everyday, and soon, in the right time, it will be done.
Moon in Cancer trine Sun in Pisces: This aspect helps soften the tone of the above aspect. Feelings are flowing, intuitive impressions are rising like a clear picture in your mind’s eye or your heart knowing. It leads to cooperation and a sense of easy around family events.
Mars in Aries trine Pluto in Sagittarius: When both planets that govern our willfulness and will power make this positive trine, it makes for easy discipline, focused action, epic endurance to accomplish much today, without the need to even break.
Thu April 6
Moon/North Lunar Node in Leo trine Mercury in Aries: A great day to venture forth on a journey or take a new viewpoint in your mind’s clear eye about how to see a situation. Both courage and joy are part of today’s dynamic.
Fri April 7
Sun in Pisces opposite Jupiter retrograde in Virgo: It’s normally a festive alignment when the illumination of our Sun is exalted by the exuberance of Jupiter. Today, however, this polarizing opposition is somewhat muted or reflective with Jupiter still in retrograde, and can lead to stand-offs, or a desire to heal a past stand-off.
Uranus enters sidereal Aries: Uranus dipped in Aries last year, but now fully enters this sign of courage, enlightenment (that’s the nature of sidereal Aries, somewhat different from how tropical Aries is viewed), pioneering initiatives for many years to come. I am sad to say, too, that this transit also ushers in a period of increased volatility, earth changes, catastrophic accidents that wake us up.
Sat April 8
Sun in Pisces square Pluto in Sagittarius: This once a year waxing square of shine-your-light-bright Sun to driven, powerful, excavation Pluto can bring things to light that were hidden or push you to be bolder and clearer in expressing your Light. There can be an underlying tension or fear associated with this, so try not to make up a story about what you think is happening and just pay attention to what is happening.
Venus square Saturn ~ both retrograde: Similar to the above aspect, there’s a bit of challenge with this one, especially in regards to love and money issues. Saturn brings a realism and sobriety to your choices, like finally have to balance the checkbook, perhaps finding you have less money that you thought you did. Yet the realism and realizations today will help you come back to balance if you will be honest. Since both planets are meeting up in their retrograde cycles, some might feel deeply introverted, processing a decision that no one around yet knows about. It’s okay to be protective of your truth until you are ready to share. And of course, working your taxes would be a wise choice today. Not fun, but necessary.
Sun April 9
Mercury turns retrograde: Here’s the second Mercury retrograde period of 2017, turning retrograde until May 3. Mercury is transiting sidereal Aries, making the mind, and our communications more volatile with a desire to act suddenly or spontaneously. Probably not the best idea, however. You might be contemplating a choice, so use this three week period for research and reflection. It’s always important to triple check any papers or contracts you are about to sign, or delay the signing until May 3. Delays may appear out of the blue, but trust they are keeping you from making a mistake.
Mars/Ceres conjunction in Aries: If you have this aspect in your natal chart, you are known as a motivated parent and caregiver, being the person who follows through with action when they say they will help. That’s what you might be called to do today. This aspect begins a new two-year cycle that pressures many take direct action in regards to the causes they care about.
Moon in Virgo opposite Pallas Athene in Pisces: A great aspect for organizing the details of a plan or strategy you are contemplating. Pisces is dreamy and vague, but Virgo likes to create order and demands we pay attention to details.
