New SolLunar Cycle in Aries
“M Star Sacred Hand” artwork by Carol Mann
This freshly hatching SolLunar cycle promises to be very dynamic as both Sun and Moon align in sidereal Aries, a sign of independent spirit and courage to forge a new path. We are all supported to become dynamic directors in the play of life.
Some of the best astrological news of 2016 arrives this week: buoyant Jupiter will return to direct motion on May 9 from it’s retrograde of Jan 9. This can mark a change for the better coming your way. If nothing else, your attitude toward life might improve because you are consciously taking steps to make that happen, like watching your thoughts and turning them in a more positive direction, the theme of this New Moon.
Chiron enters sidereal Pisces this week. Chiron moves slowly through our heavens, so when it enters a new sign, it marks a several year shift in how healing and becoming more whole will manifest in our world. Pisces is a deeply spiritual sign and can bring forth a shared compassionate heart to all, especially in regards to cooperation amongst the world’s religions. Pisces is also associated with escapism and addictions. Collectively, we will come to understand the hows and whys of addiction, and make a concerted efforts to genuinely help those in need.
Thank you dear friend, Carol Mann, for sharing one of your Sacred Hand Cards with my readers. You can learn more about this gift Carol offers at Horizon of the Soul Hand Art, along with her many other talents and offerings.

Here is a list of New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from LunarPlanner:
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, a new theme emerges, a new idea or concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen.”
Note: I write my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. I encourage you to work with and within these natural flow of time and supportive cosmic energy, which ensures your life will flow with more ease and grace. I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. You can read about my unique way of interpreting astrology at this link: EarthWord SkyWord sidereal readings.

Here you can see how the New SolLunar cycle is taking place in sidereal Aries, joined by Venus and Mercury, compliments of Star Walk:
Fri May 6
New Moon in Aries: In the above picture, notice how other planets are clustering around our Sun and Moon in Aries as a New SolLunar cycle is birthed. It’s always a time to begin anew. The story surrounding sidereal Aries is about becoming the director of your life, and helps us release attitudes that we are somehow a victim of outside forces, be that the government, a lover, a job. During the coming month, examine your ideas about that and claim the power to be a positive force for change in your personal life, thereby helping our collective identity advance toward self-empowerment.
Moon/Mercury conjunction in Aries: Just after the conception of New Moon, our emotional Moon will quickly align with communicative Mercury, sparking a very busy day, and extremely hyperactive mental states. Find ways to still or calm your mind if you don’t want to feel like you are going crazy. With focused Vesta in the mix, if you pick one project to focus your attention upon, you can get a lot accomplished. Work toward not dissipating the potency of this moment in time-killing, distracting activities.
Sat May 7
Sun in Aries trine Pluto in Sagittarius: Abundant energy and determination accompanies this aspect. Sharing power versus trying to overpower another is also part of this dynamic. Physically move your body, remembering your natural athletic gifts. All animals like to move. Discover your version of joyful motion today.
Moon/Vesta conjunction in Taurus opposite Mars in Scorpio: Focusing on finances or your garden are wise choices when the Moon is in Taurus. You can more readily feel the healing energy of Earth. As the day progresses, the Moon opposes Mars in Scorpio, and fights can emerge surrounding money matters. Or old resentments rise to the surface to be addressed, which is part of the current Mars retrograde cycle continuing until June 29. No escape.
Sun May 8
Moon in Taurus: This Mother’s Day (if you are celebrating it) is both sensual and indulgent with the influence of the Moon in Taurus. The Moon also makes some intense collisions with other planets throughout the day. In the morning, Moon opposes serious, critical Saturn, and squares optimistic Jupiter. Sounds like some potential mood swings to me. Later in the day, a square to Neptune can bring more imagination and compassion to the table. Take in a movie, as Neptune rules film.
Mon May 9
Jupiter turns direct: Yipee! Jupiter, being the largest planet in our solar system, manifests as largesse, exuberance, optimism, and over-indulging. Jupiter turning direct from it’s retrograde of January 9 is about spiraling to the next level of your life, ready to expand, or be pushed to grow. For some of you, this pressure is very uncomfortable, while for others, it can feel hugely liberating. As Jupiter is currently transiting sidereal Leo, the pressure to live life according to your creative desires, your playfulness, your care for your children, your inner child, is literally supported by the Universe. Take the lead of your life, the reoccurring theme of 2016.
Sun and Mercury retrograde conjunction in Aries: You can actually see this event happen if you have a telescope, happening between 8:30-9:30 am MST. Take a moment to meditate to experience the energetic gift of this alignment, even if you don’t physically see it. Tiny, but mentally powerful Mercury crosses the face of our Sun, which can catalyze an illumination of mind and mental brilliance. Satori is at hand.
Grand Trine in Air signs: Air signs in astrology govern our relationships and how we communicate with others. Today’s positive triangle between gregarious Gemini Moon, cooperative Juno in Libra and creative Pallas Athene in communal Aquarius generates a good mood in everyone and is excellent for creative brainstorming and problem solving.
Tue May 10
Venus in Aries trine Jupiter in Leo: When these two benefic planets make a happy trine with one another, love, gifts, and joy naturally arise within you and around you. It’s a portal of grace. You may be drawn to purchasing something of beauty, or treat yourself and another in some special way.
Moon in Gemini: The curious, communicative Moon in Gemini creates connectivity and positive communications today with a series of aspects to many planets. A trine to Neptune in Aquarius supports harmony amongst co-workers. The minor grand trine with artistic Venus and positive Jupiter reminds us of the principles of feng-shui: how organizing your space in beauty can shift the circumstances of your life. Gift yourself and other flowers today.
Wed May 11
Moon in Cancer trine Chiron in Pisces: This might lead to an early morning meltdown as you are sending the kids off to school. They might want to stay home or require some extra tender loving care. Or you may decide to stay home and head back to bed.
Venus in Aries quincunx Saturn in Scorpio: This forceful aspect can create a pushiness in you and others. Try to understand where this desire to control or judge another (even yourself) is coming from. Honest and direct conversations will help, if others will cooperate. If not…screw them. Ha!
Thu May 12
Mercury retrograde trine Pluto in Sagittarius: This delving and focused mental aspect is good for research, going deeper into your thought process, uncovering old ideas that no longer work and need to be released. It can create a mental obsessiveness, but not in the negative way.
Moon in Cancer square Venus/Mercury in Aries: Moon in moody, withdrawn Cancer squares off with straightforward, talkative Venus/Mercury in Aries. Important family conversations need to be had as building tensions rise to the surface.
