We begin a New SolLunar cycle in sidereal Aquarius this Wednesday. Here is an excerpt about this New Moon from my fellow sidereal star partner Nick Anthony Fiorenza. This is from his monthly Lunar Planner, consider subscribing to learn more in depth information about each lunar cycle: http://www.lunarplanner.com/
“Our February 18, 2015 New Moon lies in the constellation of Aquarius, our humanitarian waterbearer. It conjoins the Helix Nebula in Aquarius and the Veil Nebula on the wing tip of Cygnus the Swan, also know as the Northern Galactic Cross. Also of influence is Enif, the nose of Pegasus. All of these entries create a dynamic accelerating force that elevates mind to a more intuitive embracing universal awareness, quite different than the more self-focused quality of our previous lunar cycle. This lunar cycle brings inspiration to participate beyond our exclusive attractions and segregated ways based on gender, race, creed, or culture, into the inclusiveness of unconditional compassion.” Thank you Nick.
This New Moon is also the Tibetan/Chinese New Year called the Year of the Yin Wood Sheep. I asked my friend Michal Brimm, a very wise depth psychologist and who studies and interprets the archetypes of this type of zodiac, to offer advice about what this year might hold. She writes this: “The Sheep belongs to a group of archetypes that tend to know the world through their senses. Sheep are creative and interested in cultivating peace and harmony. The Sheep likes to take its time and get it right. Sheep are not interested in being rushed. This year will be an excellent time to tune into your sensual relationships with life around you, to cultivate your creative life and to seek inner harmony as well as harmony with all your relationships. It will be an excellent year to ‘flesh out’ a project that needs patience and detail.” Thank you Michal.
Mercury is now in forward motion again, but still needs to complete it’s ‘shadow period’ by March 4, meaning you might be busy, busy, too busy completing details of projects, proposals, contracts you set in motion in the last lunar cycle. This week we also experience the annual Venus/Mars conjunction, merging what we love and value with our the day to day actions. This is a lovely integrative aspect.

On this last day of a completing SolLunar cycle, you could end a procrastination streak (don’t judge yourself for that) and find yourself super- focused and determined to plow through a multitude of tasks. That’s because the Moon ~ what you absolutely need to do ~ aligns with Vesta ~ undaunted focus ~ in results-oriented Capricorn.

Re-read the opening quote from Nick about the over-arching theme of the coming month beginning with today’s New Moon in Aquarius, or as I like to say, a new SolLunar cycle, because the Sun is fresh and new as well! I love the optimism and expansiveness of this Aquarian cycle that occurs this time each year, as bulbs are beginning to sprout and the birds are hankering to migrate northward again. Signs of spring, hope, optimism return. This cycle also helps you tap into your future self, your future dreams and plans. At the individual and global level, we begin a new cycle of choosing to become a more awake, more aware humanity. Aquarius: sign of compassion for all of life.

A couple of delightful energies greet you this morning. Be ready for an important dream or sudden realization as the Moon and Neptune conjunct in eccentric creative Aquarius. An out-of-the-box solution may appear. An especially gracious sextile forms between Mercury in Capricorn and Saturn in Scorpio. These are somewhat serious signs, so this aspect may help you more easily deal with a pressing matter you need to address, ready to dive in. And as Mercury is making a final opposition to Juno ~ ruler of marriage partners, business colleagues, true beloveds ~ from the recent retrograde period, this can be is a final decision kind of day involving our core relationships. Endings and beginnings, both.

Fabulousness in the planetary Field today. We have a triple conjunction in the watery (read emotional), creative, compassionate sign of Pisces. The Moon ~ what you most need ~ and Venus ~ what you most desire and want ~ and Mars ~ the desire to take action ~ create a fusion of powerful feelings, even overwhelming emotion, yet also supports the ability to use the power of focusing your emotions in positive ways. A cautionary note: Pisces is also linked to spacing out, having inappropriate or no boundaries, habits of addiction. So all those qualities are also on steroids today and for a few more days.

Please re-read yesterday about today’s generally lovely conjunction of Venus and Mars taking place in sidereal Pisces. Pull out those poetry books, your favorite music, visit a body of water, all delights of Pisces. Venus is the ruler of our heart chakra and Mars governs the power center so there can be a blending of those two dimensions of self today. In addition the Pisces Moon makes an monthly alignment with shocking Uranus, and the South Node, symbolic of the history your have completed. Tears and grieving are always an occurrence under this aspect as well as truly creative breakthroughs. And since Uranus and Jupiter are coming into a rare, very innovative trine next week, now is the time to be bold, take risks, and feel more confident in doing so.

A budding positive sextile of the courageous, direct Aries Moon to Aquarius Sun can make for a delightful time to be adventurous with a friend, like exploring a new cuisine or restaurant, skiing a more challenging trail, or simply coaching a compatriot to take their own life leap of faith. The gift of a sky trine forms today between Juno and Saturn which tends to mean you are getting along with your mate. A note of caution: a more stern square of Sun to Saturn is building overnight, exact tomorrow.

Hopefully it helps you to know in advance that today you might engage with your more serious side, your critical self, your pessimistic streak (if you experience those traits occasionally) as the Sun makes a tense square to Saturn in Scorpio. You can also use this energy to get seriously focused on a project, cut and slash your manuscript down to the jewel it wants to become, offer or accept a constructive critique.
