Thankfully, most thankfully, we are heading into the homestretch of the frustrating, exacerbating, injury-inducing, patience-cultvating, conflict-resolving Mars Retrograde cycle which began on March 1 and will complete on May 19. The actual lessons of this cycle encompass a longer time frame which began in January this year and will complete in July. I will write more specifically about what this might mean in the posts below, especially next week, but you should begin to feel turn-arounds or forward momentum in various aspects for you life.
Mon May 12
Mercury in Taurus is in a very productive trine to Mars in Virgo. This makes for high efficiency and great accomplishments today, especially in terms of managing the logistics and infrastructure aspects of your home and work environments. Mercury is conjunct the star of Aldebaran which is prominent in the charts of political leaders and key political turning points. Mars is in quincunx to Juno, which means your key partnerships are making subtle adjustments needed for greater cooperation and effectiveness. Lastly, the Moon makes a monthly alignment to the North Node, both in the sign of Libra. Supportive partners connect to help each other move forward.

Today’s cooperative relational Moon in Libra opposes Juno in independent, initiating Aries. Tensions may arise that lead to discussions involving “your needs versus my needs versus our needs”. Yet also, a not-that-common Grand Trine is flowering today into tomorrow between Jupiter ~ optimism, confidence ~ Chiron ~ healing, miracles ~ and Moon ~ sharing emotions. This all speaks to supporting and feeling super-supported by your various communities. You may find a new life-long friend today. Be aware that since the actual Full Moon occurs tomorrow around noon MST, tonight essentially carries the energetic of what Full Moon is all about ~ celebration, fruition, and sometimes out of control behavior. Bask in the Field of the full-belly Moon tonight. Allow your cells to be infiltrated with illumination, clarity, epiphanies, always part of the celestial gift each Full Moon is.

From the sidereal perspective (true galactic planetary alignments ~ you can read more on my website under Sidereal Astrology) today’s Full Moon takes place in the last degree of Sun in Aries and Moon in Libra. The 29th degree, the last degree of a sign, promises that things we have hoped for, longed for, worked for often manifest at the very last minute, or as a friend once reminded me: “God’s on time at 11:59”. Sidereal Aries is the sign of spiritual awakening, literally coming into your Mastery, and Sidereal Libra helps us discover how we share our individual gifts with others in healthy, harmonious partnerships.
It’s important to note that today’s Full Moon is activating and activated by the planetary Being called Sedna. Here’s a brief description of Sedna and relevant themes that might be in play, taken from Nick Anthony Fiorenza’s Lunar Planner (http://www.lunarplanner.com ): “Sedna articulates the ‘return of the exiled feminine principle’. Sedna’s message is that humanity must recognize the truth about the suppression, persecution, abduction and exploitation of the feminine force in the world (both of females and of the feminine principle); and the mentality perpetuating such must be addressed and changed. Although it is quite obvious of our need for this re-emergence and balanced reintegration with the overly dominant patriarchal world, there is still dire hesitancy for such participation of females due to the often awry, deceptive and exploitative use of creative power by the masculine force in the world. Sedna appears to motivate action from a mature social platform, from an open, honest and inclusive humanitarian focus, into an active focus in leadership in the world; to break trail along a new path of discovery by demonstrating that a more feminine humanitarian type of leadership can provide the answers to the challenges our world faces.”
And this good news, also from Nick: “Sedna enters the constellation of Taurus in 2014-2017, supporting a more physically active and prominent participation of females in world.”
Lastly, this intense sky dynamic is also happening today: Venus ~ principle of love, art, beauty ~ squares off with Pluto ~ ruler of power and control issues, death and rebirth. One can feel intensely obsessed or possessed, positively or negatively, with a creative project or relationship.

We are still strongly feeling the effects of yesterday’s Full Moon so re-read yesterday’s post for helpful clues as to what the heck is happening within and around you. In addition, this is wondrous event is happening: the annual Venus/Uranus conjunction. Any planetary aspect to Uranus indicates sudden breakthroughs, breakdowns or creative surges. Venus is the ruler of our physical heart, our heart’s longings and creative urges, and our personal money so expect surprising sudden shifts in any of those arenas. Late tonight and into tomorrow morning, the driven, delving, investigative Scorpio Moon opposes Mercury in Taurus. The classic conundrum of one partner wanting to explore the underlying issues while the other party wants to see things at face value may emerge. Or one person values thinking things through while the other wants to honor intuition and feelings. These are also the astrological financial signs, so keep in mind those discussions might revolve around money or resources.

When our glorious Sun conjuncts the star of Algol in early Taurus once a year, extreme fear can arise out of nowhere as Algol is associated with making the shift from fear-based mindsets and beliefs to love-based mindsets and beliefs. If fear does arrive today (False Evidence Appearing Real), try this nifty technique I learned decades ago when I was first exploring metaphysical teachings: send it back to the mighty Sun. Ask and intend that fears/unhealthy ties and habits be dissolved and released into the power of the Sun’s Light, forever dissolved. It really works, and does no harm to anyone. This lovely geometry is in play today as well: Mercury in Taurus is sextile Venus in Pisces and trine Vesta in Virgo. Much good can come through this sky portal including heart and mind functioning on the same page, extraordinary focus, a Field of love and compassion surrounding relationships. So as you can see, it is your choice today: fear or love. That’s always the choice.

Get ready for a weekend of important turning points or volatile outbursts as both Moon and Venus trigger the ongoing Jupiter/Uranus/Pluto square. Thankfully at this point in this larger completing cycle, we are entering the homestretch. Imagine or remember how it feels in the last mile of the 26.2 mile marathon. You are almost there. We are all almost there, wherever there is. Today’s inferno alignment of Moon/Pluto in Sagittarius can make you may feel quite opinionated. These two planets are in a tense to Mars in Virgo ~ helpful and healthy solutions. Practice being a helpful exuberant coach versus a critical dogmatic teacher.
Sun May 18
A heavenly creative tense square forms today between Moon in Sagittarius ~ emotional truth ~ and Jupiter in Gemini ~ exploring and integrating our light and shadow aspects ~ and Venus in Pisces ~ love and compassion for all, especially your self. Explore your inner conundrums…love that word so using it again…and appreciate your complexity, diversity, uniqueness. You are one of a kind on Earth. Try writing a love letter to yourself and value all, everything, about who you are. This simple practice can be profoundly liberating. Do it more than once, make it a weekly routine. Lastly, as Mars is virtually standing still (from Earth’s perspective) you may feel sluggish, tired, even unable to move. It’s all part of the energetic happening now, so why not just give in and give over to rest, napping, or just staring into space.
