Full Moon in Leo and Aquarius
“Purple Vortex” photograph by Karen Allison
This week, I’ll posting for the next two weeks, due to travel plans and a hopeful computer upgrade. Thanks for your understanding.
In the coming two weeks, as we navigate and complete this current SolLunar cycle, there is a rich complex mix of planetary weather involving Neptune (mystical openings, high imagination), Jupiter (expansiveness, optimism, joy) and Saturn (realism, pessimism, focus). Surprising opportunities abound and courage is needed: the courage to follow your heart and the unexplainable intuitions that are leading you forward.
I want to thank my dear friend, Marybeth Minter, her husband Jack, and wise dog Rudi, for the gift of staying in their beautiful home in Sedona, Arizona for much of this winter. It is a wondrous gift to celebrate the daily joys of life with a good friend, and to support and be supported in encouraging each other to reach their best potential. Eternal gratitude to you, Marybeth. Your gifts are many, especially the talent and heart you bring to the Animal Others as a caring, committed homeopathic veterinarian.
The above photograph was captured at the “Airport Vortex” in Sedona, Arizona. It’s quite amazing how Karen mysteriously photographed this purple ring emanating from the red rock’s surface.
And here’s my puppy god-dog, Rudi, barely over a year old, meditating at the Vortex, no kidding:

Here is a brief synopsis of Full Moon characteristics that hold true to every Full Moon from my from my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza ~ lunarplanner ~
“The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration. The day just after the Full Moon is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, of what the activities of the first half of the lunar cycle, culminating into the enthusiasm of the Full Moon, are really about. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”
And here is a description of the qualities of the Last Quarter Moon phase compliments of Nick Anthony Fiorenza at lunarplanner:
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. A sense of completion comes forth with a recognition that the past scenario has served its purpose and it is time to leave what is antiquated behind. Essentially a lesser self is what we will be shedding. Step forth from old facades, and free yourself from past ways of participating in life. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.”
Please note: I make my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. I seek to support you in working with and within the natural flow of time and energy, which will help your life flow with more ease and grace. Also, I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. Mon February 22
Full Moon: Sun in Aquarius opposite Moon in Leo: Leo rules our individual soul directives and the sign of Aquarius rules how we bring our creative gifts to our shared Earthly and human communities. On a Full Moon like this one, you might be further waking up, both internally and externally, to your blessed unique role on planet Earth. Some of you might feel ornery about what you’ve had to do in the past to conform to society’s or another’s dictates. That’s good news. Aquarius disdains conformity and loves wild individuality.
I like what my sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza writes about this Full Moon: “We can change our fundamental approach or path in life. On a greater scale, this can be in regard to changing allegiance of our energies from the outer world, self-sacrificing to diversionary forces or currents in the world around us, to the vertical integrity of our inner soul / source directive and truth. Much like sailing, changing winds require the application of personal will to change the boat’s tack to continue toward our longer-term destination. This requires the assessment of our current position and heading, and of the changing conditions around us—the weather, waves, winds and currents—to responsibly set a new tack along our journeys in life”.
This particular SolLunar cycle is teaching us how to be more trusting of our ability to navigate the quick-moving currents of change and wild emotional weather with more equanimity and grace.
Tue February 23
Jupiter in Leo opposite Chiron in Aquarius: This defining aspect of 2016 supports us to uncover and release patterns of woundedness and move toward the goal of wholeness. We are fundamentally perfect, just as we are, yet it can also be a good thing to release ruts and habits that keep creating stress in our lives. Chiron in Aquarius on the South Lunar Node might manifest as a friend that pushes your buttons, allowing you to see yourself more clearly. Thus you can move beyond a stance of victimhood to a stance of self-responsibility. Jupiter on the North Node (living a life based in our authentic joy) is hauling us forward at lightning speed to follow our heart’s desire for wholeness and happiness.
Moon/Jupiter/North Node conjunction in Leo: This aspect magnifies greatly the above aspect, triggering huge emotional outbursts, tears, manic behavior. If you do temporarily fall apart, see it as a good thing, a release of long-trapped, pent up energy that would create long-term health issues is not transmuted. Quakening is happening within you, and all around you. We are in this together, so let’s be witnesses and help one another.
Moon in Aquarius square Saturn in Scorpio: Today, face up to your limitations, willingly accept your true nature, and commit to following through on your emerging soul directives. For some, that means ending dying relationships so that more vital ones might emerge.
Wed-Thu February 24-25
Mercury in Capricorn sextile Saturn in Scorpio: This helpful alignment lights up your mind with clarity and focus, helping you get organized for projects, budgets, taxes. If you have had chaos and confusion visit you in recent days, this will help you order your world anew.
Moon in Virgo: The Moon signifies the daily, ever-changing emotional wave that enfolds our planet. Virgo loves to help others, clean, heal, feel orderly. Like the above aspect, a Virgo Moon can tidy up your emotional world from recent stresses. Just don’t go back to old patterns. Create healthier habits going forward.
Fri February 26
Mercury in Capricorn sextile Uranus in Pisces: With the continuing influence of the hard-working Moon in Virgo, this exciting sextile between Mercury (your ideas and thought habits) and Uranus (breakthroughs and flashes of insight) can help you feel a sudden surge of inspiration or take mental leaps of faith to follow that crazy dream for something better that is dreaming you.
Sat February 27
Venus/Pallas Athene conjunction in Capricorn: If this aspect existed in your natal astrology map, you would be considered an inventive genius, bringing in new systems of knowledge and archetypes. So today, tap into your own brilliance for creating a life based in love, beauty, harmony, art, compassion, nature. Your life, all aspects of it, after all, is a work of art.
Mercury in Capricorn inconjunct Jupiter in Leo: The inconjunct aspect manifests as the need to make subtle but smart adjustments in your momentary and long-range plans. Pay attention to subtle clues to guide you, coming from a Universe that entirely supports you at all times. And that’s a fact!
Moon in Libra trine Sun/Neptune conjunction in Aquarius: This lovely trine between the gracious Moon in Libra and the exquisite, almost exact, annual Sun/Neptune conjunction ensures that you have the helping hand of a partner as well as a whole community that supports you and that is supported by you.
Sun February 28
Sun/Neptune conjunction in Aquarius: This magnificent sky portal occurs once a year. Our illuminating Sun shines upon Neptune, our planetary ruler of imagination, art, universal spirituality. Today is not a day for mundane earthly tasks but dreaming larger and tapping into higher truths, communing with your angels. A cautionary note: Neptune also rules deception and being ungrounded, but if you listen to your more intuitive side whispering in your ear or heart, you can avoid those pitfalls.
Moon/Juno conjunction in Libra: Juno rules our core relationships, either professional, personal beloveds, professional colleagues, and even one’s so-called enemies that can potentially become allies. The alignment with the Moon ensures you will have to share your emotions with those near and dear. Spend time with those that bring out the best in you.
Mon February 29
Leap Day: Once every four years, we experience this day as the human timekeepers make a time correction in our Gregorian calendar so it matches up with our galactic calendar. Consider examining your own relationship to time. Does it trap you, bind you, support you? Do an inventory of what you are currently doing with your time. Then set intentions about where where you would prefer to be spend your time. You should be the boss of your time, not having time boss you around. If you want to examine that question more deeply in the coming months, check out my visionary friend DeeElle’s new course offering on TIME.
Moon/Mars conjunction in Scorpio: This fierce alignment provides the LEAP in Leap Day! Mars loves to move and take action and this monthly alignment of the emotional Moon to passionate Mars gives you the courage required to take that leap of faith.
Venus in Capricorn sextile Saturn in Scorpio: This fine alignment manifests as encouraging financial news or easy decision-making.
Tue March 1
Last Quarter Moon: Sun and Moon make a final waning square as we enter the completion quarter of the current SolLunar cycle. Time to tidy up loose ends from the completing cycle in anticipation of the coming New Moon Eclipse on March 8. This particular Last Quarter Moon is very intense as the Moon is in probing Scorpio and conjunct serious, time-to-face-reality Saturn. A temporary depression might arise. Remember to use the powerful tool of your breathe to release tensions as they arise. I am taking a deep breathe as I write that.
Mercury enters Aquarius: I imagine Mercury loves to transit Aquarius, the sign of future thinking and taking quantum leaps. Reimagine your own life and goals and quantum leaps in the coming weeks. There’s a world of new possibilities out there and within you just waiting to be explored.
Wed-Thu March 2-3
Sun/Ceres conjunction in Aquarius: This annual alignment pairs up Ceres (environmental and food issues, caregiving and nurturing) with the hot white light of our life-giving Sun. As Ceres is currently moving through sidereal Aquarius (astrological sign of futuristic ideas, global humanity), many people are finding ways to participate in community endeavors that are providing solutions to our current almost overwhelming problems. Today you may discover a greater enthusiasm to be part of the solution, not the problem. In addition, sometimes Ceres calls up our old grief or grievances. If you feel an up-welling of sadness today, be willing to go there and meet the healing waters of tearful release.
Fri March 4
Moon/Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius trine Jupiter in Leo: This aspect makes for a fierce, even ferocious Friday. At times the Moon brings up unconscious emotions and demons and this monthly alignment to deep-digging Pluto magnifies this need to purge. Time to cleanse old toxins on every level. Sagittarius’s influence encourages uplifting truth-telling or over-the-top dogmatism.
Mercury in Aquarius square Mars in Scorpio: This aspect, riding in tandem with the above one, adds a big ‘ditto’ to what I wrote above. Mercury square Mars can be sharp-tongued or hurtful, yet also encourages us to speak what is on our minds, and also take action. Activism abounds today.
Sat March 5
Pallas Athene in Capricorn square Juno in Libra: This very decisive alignment between Pallas Athene (strategy, creative intelligence) and Juno (key colleagues) marks a turning point in relationships. It’s great for planning and organizing in general, and also helps you move beyond fear about making uncomfortable but necessary changes in your relationships.
Sun March 6
Sun in Aquarius square Saturn in Scorpio: Whenever the Sun squares Saturn, things can feel challenging, restrictive, painful. Yet the same aspect encourages discipline and desire to focus in productive ways. With the Sun in friendship, community-minded Aquarius and Saturn in probing, transformational Scorpio, things might heat up in community discussions with power-plays being exposed for all to see. It is a day of transparency.
Sun in Aquarius sextile Pluto in Sagittarius: This helpful aspect creates a sense of rebirth and reinvention out of the deaths and releases of recent days.
Moon/Pallas Athene conjunction in Capricorn: Alliances continue to flourish and develop under this organized and dedicated alignment. You might be more drawn to work today rather than rest. Also, important conversations between family members are needed.
Mon March 7
Moon/Venus/Mercury conjunction in Aquarius: There is a fusion today of your needs, your wants and your thoughts as these three planets align in friendly, futuristic Aquarius. This aspect inspires an upgrade in our planetary Field of New Ideas that will benefit everyone. Awaken to insight streaming in from your Future Self today.
Balsamic Moon: Tomorrow we will enter a new SolLunar cycle, also marked by a Solar Eclipse which inspires a whole new series of life decisions coming your way. See you in the New Field!
And don’t forget to chill and meditate~
