“Emerald Moss Heart” by Lyn Dalebout
Here is another Earth Heart, this one made of emerald moss, delivered to me last week as I was contemplating new directions, appearing as an oracle and a blessing.
Mosses are called ‘carbon sinks’ on our planet, thus helping to take excess carbon out of our atmosphere. As the wise organisms they are, they help cool our heating planet. This week, Venus ~ our planetary beneficiary of all things loving and beautiful and creative ~ enters true sidereal Leo and aligns with the royal star of Regulus. Venus is also the ruler of vegetation, our holy Plant Kingdom. Venus in Leo is the exalted expression of the Earthly Empress, Gaia’s Queen, the arbiter of abundance, joy, beauty, heartfelt creativity, and most importantly, a healthy vibrant ecosystem. We will either be bountifully sustained by Earth’s nourishment due to our devotion and care for Gaia, or we may very well tragically witness our own demise, if we are negligent.

I always feel September 1 is psychologically the first day of autumn (in our Northern Hemisphere) even though the Fall Equinox is still 3 weeks away. Since tomorrow is the dynamic, tense First Quarter Square of Moon to Sun, relax today while also looking back over whatever the themes of 2014 have been for you. Now know and trust you are heading into the harvest cycle of what was seeded in the spring, flowered through the summer, is about to bear juicy nurturing fruit this autumn. That’s what I am doing today!

Since the focused, possessive and times controlling Scorpio Moon makes this Lunar cycle’s First Quarter Square to the freedom-loving playful Leo Sun, I want to share this analogy. I have been imagining my niece trying to bring order to her classroom on this first day back to school! It’s crucial to find a balance between order and freedom, and it would be a great day for her to teach her exuberant students that know they can experience both depth ~Scorpio~ and delight ~Leo~ in the midst of learning. Thankfully, this same deep Scorpio Moon which guides emotions today, is in a supportive trine to Jupiter in Cancer. This means we are seeking to create and experience positive relationships. So even if a child feels possessive of their ‘stuff” or space this first day, they will likely find a way to share and be inclusive, thus creating new friends. Perhaps we are all kids on our first day of school today! How can we feel confident in our ability to learn, grow, create, share? The planetary ruler of our minds, Mercury, is un-aspected for much of today. Your thoughts may journey in discombobulated wanderings, or obsessive thoughts might come out of nowhere, but they are obviously coming from somewhere. Call forth your higher trusting Universal Mind to simply witness the antics of your worrisome monkey mind.

Today promises to bring you unending supplies of energy as Sun and Pluto form a heavenly trine. You can feel driven dawn to dusk to accomplish much, in many dimensions as both planetary force fields rule physical vitality and will. The Moon is in Sagittarius, a fire sign, which means you can overcome fears of the past by being willing to be a courageous explorer, learn something new, speak your emotional truth (that aspect is especially potent tomorrow). Today’s Moon makes a square to Mercury in Virgo which greatly enhances your desire to study and pursue challenging intellectual interests if you will apply yourself ~ that’s what the square aspect in astrology demands…working hard. Lastly, the Moon is in a dynamic positive trine to Venus in Leo ~ this week’s highlighted planet ~ encouraging you to speak easily, directly, honestly with exuberance and love.

Venus aligns with the star of Regulus today and tomorrow. I always wax poetic about this star as it is predominant in my personal astrological chart, but more importantly, it holds the key to the Aquarian future beckoning us to become a better version of our human species: Humans 6.0 or the our LightBody Upgrade I write about often in this blog. We will only build a world of trust, compassion, awakening, evolution, tenderness, innovation and creativity for all, if each of us will live a life based on making daily individual choices based on following our heart and health, and choosing to bring LOVE into all our relations, including the most important relationship, the own we have with ourself. In my opinion, Regulus, plays a key role in governing and guiding the deepest aspirations and potential of our United States of America. Given the enormous privilege we have to be Americans, we must not be sheep and fall asleep, but wake up and help guide Planet Earth at this crucial juncture in time. Our future is in your hands. It truly is.

Also today, the fabulous Sun/Pluto trine of yesterday grows in intensity with the alignment of the fierce Moon/Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius, still in a supportive trine to the Sun. This might mean that the intensity of this aspect can truly be channeled in positive directions and drive, even overdrive. The Moon also makes an opposition to Juno in Gemini, ensuring you will speak up to your nearest and dearest partners, or encounter some major conflicts that need to be addressed out in the open. The square of Moon to Uranus in Pisces creates a conduit of compassion and innovation to enter the dialogue, but you must be experimental in your solutions. The old patterns and coping mechanisms will no longer work. And lastly, get ready, whoa, Mars enters Scorpio. More on that in tomorrow’s post.

Venus continues to advance the agenda of Regulus (read yesterday’s post). Be aware of how much love, connectivity, collaboration, cooperation, is surrounding every moment of every day, if you will choose to engage. And, as promised, here’s some insight about Mars entering true sidereal Scorpio till October 18. In military terms, this energetic is the ultimate alignment for the fiercest warrior strategists. Think of the honorable Navy SEALS. You have, at your beck and call, this kind of ferocity of intention, focus, drive, athleticism, activism activating you for the coming weeks. Use Mars in Scorpio wisely and for good purpose and to advance the call and pull of your own mission. Lastly, today’s Mercury in Virgo ~ the analytical mind ~ is in tweeking-your-plans quincunx to Neptune in Aquarius ~ higher ideals entering the mainstream. This will clearly be a day of new plans, strategies, evolving ideas entering and ultimately benefiting both local and communities.

For you astrologically minded, the ambitious, responsible Capricorn Moon is in a cooperative trine to both Mercury and Pallas Athene in Virgo ~ consummate attention to detail/organization ~ which also sextiles the confident optimistic Jupiter in Cancer ~ optimism in regards to family and our larger Earth community. This aspect will naturally, with delight, have you organizing your home, your work space, your community projects, your team, so all can function in a more refined, efficient, beautiful way.

The annual Sun in Leo opposite Chiron in Aquarius offers opportunities for truly magical events popping in from other dimensions, and also creates opportunities to advance all kinds of healing in our world. Chiron is considered to the Wounded Healer. Contemplate the fact that a gritty grain of your sand…i.e. your pain… has helped to create the pearl you have become. Fall in love with the totality of yourself if you truly want be happy. As the poet David Whyte says, “Gather all your flaws in celebration” (from his poem The Faces at Braga). This theme of healing in our core relations also shows up as a tense square of Juno in Gemini ~ what are the shadow, hidden issues affecting key relationships ~ to Uranus in Pisces ~ let’s open up the discussion with acceptance and forgiveness ~ with a helpful trine Chiron in Aquarius ~ finding a place new understanding and growth.
