A New Year begins
Today we begin a new SolLunar cycle which will encompass the celestial New Year, called Winter Solstice in our Northern Hemisphere, and the celebration of New Year marked by our Gregorian calendar. This week marks the beginning of 2016 which promises to be a very dynamic, creative year for all, very different in tone and circumstance of 2015. 2015 was a year in which we navigated many completions, releases, and the passing of a great many Elders. May they rest in peace in the completion and successes of their unique lives. Their vision and compassion are more expansive from where they now reside, beyond the many veils of illusion that cloak our world. Now, they are our wise Guides, ready to assist us here on Earth, if we ask.
Prepare for a good spurt of energy this week! The quarterly Sun/Jupiter square and many planets transiting visionary Sagittarius are sure to bring renewed optimism, vitality and joy to our world.

NEW SOLLUNAR CYCLE: Early this morning, the new SolLunar cycle begins in the depth and darkness of sidereal Scorpio. But things will quickly shift into sunnier, adventurous Sagittarius in short order. Our New Moon aligns with the galactic stars of RasAlhague and Sabik in the 13th constellation of Ophiuchus. Here’s a brief synopsis of the meaning of these stars from Nick’s LunarPlanner:
“This lunar cycle can stimulate unexpected flashes of illumination or bring revelations that can propel us on entirely new creative journeys or courses in our lives. It is up to us to draw upon the inner strength to relinquish a lesser mold of self and have the conviction to act upon any inspiration or opportunities it offers. This cycle impels us to stand empowered in the initiatory forces of life, to allow a transmutation that becomes possible by unconditionally embracing / feeling all emotion (e-motion is the crystallized resistance to the motion of experience). In a nutshell, by paying attention to our feelings, witnessing them, experiencing them, we have a new opportunity to move out of fear-based frozen patterns of living and return to the ever-infinite power we have for regeneration and re-creation. That is the gift, essence and teaching of the wise healer, Ophiuchus. We just have to remember who we truly are.
PALLAS ATHENE/PLUTO CONJUNCTION IN SAGITTARIUS: This relatively rare alignment makes for an undaunted focus to learn a new skill or concoct a new strategy/plan going forward. Time to let go of your old ways of organizing your life and be willing to completely reinvent yourself. Such is the gift of Pluto and 2016.
MOON SHIFTS TO SAGITTARIUS: By the end of today as the Moon departs Scorpio, your mood suddenly shifts and you decide to leave your recent insular state and venture forth on a Friday night for adventure and possibility.

When you give someone an experience, it will have lasting repercussions throughout their lives. Consider that option today.
VENUS IN LIBRA SEMI-SEXTILE SATURN IN SCORPIO: This fleeting aspect reminds us that beauty is a worthy thing to create and spend money on, everyday, be that having fresh bouquets of flowers, artfully dressing up, even at home, or preparing a meal that demands you bow and give thanks to the beautiful preparation before ingesting.

I will be joyfully packing up for my upcoming journey south for a good part of this winter, fulfilling my dream of being in warmer more colorful climes as part of my winter cycle.
