This coming New Moon aligns in the midnight blue mysterious sign of Scorpio. Scorpio’s wisest of wise energies can bring depth, stillness, a stilling of disturbances, a cleansing of buried wounds, an unearthing of buried treasure. It can produce a disquieting awareness that forces you to sort out what lies beneath this holding pattern that you seemingly cannot break. Scorpio stays on us until the work it finally is done. Then we finally let go. I love the passionate tenacity of Scorpio, as in the end, this same willfulness will take us in new directions, if we survive the death and dying process.
This is also the final Moon of 2014 before be launch 2015 with the Winter Solstice Moon on December 21. So take time, make time for going underground, spend more time waking up, go to be earlier but light candles and write in your journal or meditate, savor (which means you are slowing down) everything.

A focused and ferocious day lies ahead. The exact annual Sun/Saturn conjunction takes place, ensuring you will have to face up to the reality of your current life choices. In a fairly rare astrological moment, Mars ~ vitality, passion, agression, activism ~ makes a square to the Lunar Nodes. This aspect indicates the need to take direct action to make something you want to happen, to actually happen. Or a mini crisis or meltdown might abruptly erupt which finally gets your attention. Venus square Neptune can make us feel our desires in love are contradictory, are at odds somehow, such as we are puzzled as to who we love and why. You might undergo a re-evaluation of your values or what has value to you, or figure out what to believe now and why it’s time to change your old belief system. With this aspect, people resolve to walk their talk, like actually helping thy neighbor in daily ways. Of they can continue to stay stuck in denial and fantasy about some relationship. We always have many options as humans as to how we will work with the never-ending cosmic guidance. Free will, thankfully.

This is the last day of the completing lunar cycle and it packs a punch! Mercury and Mars form a stimulating sextile, which makes for animated dynamic conversations that might lead to passionate encounters later. This aspect is great for activation of all activist causes that arise out of collaborative efforts. The waning Moon in Libra aligns with Mercury, further stimulating those stimulating conversations. As today comes to a close, the Moon will align with Saturn, prompting a sharing of deep secrets, revisiting past challenging situations, facing a reality you have been avoiding. You might already be asleep when this takes place so be aware and pay attention to the information coming to you through your dreams. And know you can let go of the past, it can be composted in your consciousness to create a healthier life going forward. Such is the gift of Saturn.

This New Moon is taking place in the early degrees of sidereal Scorpio, a sign that calls forth our depth, our hidden shadows, our ability to die to our former selves so we may be perpetually reborn anew. Embrace and allow for that natural transformation that defines this season each year to occur. Don’t try and stop it. You can’t anyway. Appreciate what you are harvesting and be grateful for what you can gently release and complete by the coming Winter Solstice on December 21. This year, miraculously, the next New Moon will occur on Solstice, launching 2015. Right after today’s New Moon, which occurs in the morning hours, the Scorpio Moon will align with both Venus and Ceres. This is a giant portal of deep feminine wisdom bathing our Earthly paradise. If we will do our very best to care for Earth, we will continue to fed by Earth and all her animating presences. Though some of you may be tired at years’ end, with the help of today’s Scorpio influence, you can dig deeper and discover new reserves of will and desire to keep you from giving up. Exciting times ahead. Rest, release, anticipate the resurrection energies of 2015.

There’s a fabulous sky triangle of watery energy today which can make for amped up emotion, cooperation, sharing deeper feelings, crying happy tears. The investigative Scorpio Moon trines family oriented Jupiter in Cancer and trines South Lunar Node which honors the history we came from. This would be a great day to dig out the family photo albums and share stories, and share it all, both the light and shadow that comes with each lineage.

You may wake up trying to obsessively pry some confession out of your beloved or just want to discuss something deeper. That’s because Mercury is now entering the terrain of Scorpio. Overnight, the emotional Moon aligned with focused Vesta, so you perhaps you couldn’t get some thought/feeling out of your mind, going over and over the same useless line of thinking. Now that you are awake, use these same energies to consciously redirect your thinking in a more positive direction.
