My apologies for missing a huge event that happened on August 30: Mercury turned retrograde. My only is excuse is this: the turning of Mercury can mess with our memory, our communications, our technology. Be prepared for mental challenges or mechanical breakdowns until September 21, when Mercury in Virgo turns direct again.This is also an excellent period to review decisions, clear out stuff that is cluttering your space, research options, set better boundaries. This is not a negative transit, but it encourages taking a cautious, discerning approach to things, as that is the gift of Virgo.
This week’s New Moon in sidereal Leo is a partial eclipse, because the Sun aligns with the North Lunar Node, an area in heavens that is pointing the way to your future expansive life. Eclipses tend to push you, either by challenge or choice, and this one is about being courageous, bold and brave, as is the nature of Leo. An opening awaits you and an exciting four weeks lie ahead!

New SolLunar cycle/Partial Eclipse in Leo: The astronomical reason this is a partial eclipse is because the Sun and Moon in sidereal Leo also team up with the North Lunar Node, an area in heavens that is pointing the way to your future expansive life. That indicates the upcoming four week’s will provide ample opportunities to dream big, follow your heart, re-imagine what is possible. However, because Mercury will be retrograde for the next three weeks, also take your time setting in motion huge changes, and be willing to be patient while researching your options.
Sun in Leo square Saturn in Scorpio: This hard-hitting square is always about facing reality, as some are dealt a challenging blow or a face a fierce awareness that a choice must be made. It brings enhanced discipline and commitment, too. It’s wondrous that this aspect occurs the same day as the above New SolLunar Eclipse, supporting a structural reformation of our lives going forward.

Mercury retrograde conjunct Jupiter: This important conjunction is the second time Mercury aligns with Jupiter. This three part dance started August 24 and will complete October 11. Bold ideas are being birthed, minds are opening, upgrades in your technology and communication systems are happening. This aspect can also lead to overly obsessive thinking which leads you to finally commit to some form of daily meditation.
Sun in Leo opposite Neptune in Aquarius: This annual opposition opens new creative doors of opportunity with unexpected friends or partners, encourages humanitarian collaborations and triggers a desire for a shared creative space with others, be that physical space, or shared heart’s secrets. Like Diana’s painting above, a magical portal or out-of-the-blue genius can arrive today.
Vesta in Gemini opposite Pluto in Sagittarius: Excellent uses of this aspect are to organize your workspace, clear out emails and correspondence, focus on writerly tasks, dive into a new study with passion and focus.
Moon/Mercury/Jupiter conjunction: This is an aspect of pruning: “To cut away dead or overgrown branches to increase fruitfulness and growth”. A fusion of mind and heart occurs when Mercury and Moon align, and Jupiter brings startling clarity about what needs pruning in your life.

Moon/Venus conjunction in Virgo: Use this monthly conjunction for further pruning and organizing your life. You are making space, clearing the field so there’s ample space for the new that is already on it’s way. Be willing to make the hard choices about what to keep, what to release.
Sun September 4
Sun/North Lunar Node conjunction in Leo: This annual conjunction always marks a turning point. The pressure is on to move on and not linger or mope about past successes or perceived failures. The future beckons you with bright possibilities as Leo’s sunshine can bring joy, trust, exuberance.
Moon in Virgo square Pluto opposite Uranus: A Virgo Moon on a weekend sometimes means you prefer to work on work, or clear and clean. The square to cosmic-backhoe Pluto and shocking Uranus can pare you down to rock-bottom, authentic truths that must be shared.

Moon/Juno conjunction in Libra: This monthly alignment signals important alliances and partnerships are forming, or being negotiated. It’s a perfect date night aspect, for those in need, or sharing your feelings with an important beloved.

Minor Grand Trine: This geometry in astrology is about cohesion, cooperation, natural creativity. Today’s MGT links the Sun in playful Leo, the Moon in peace-making, artistic Libra, and Pluto in futuristic, truth-telling Sagittarius. Creative breakthroughs and enhanced harmony in relationships are possible. You are in the ‘zone’ and ‘flow’ today.
