New SolLunar Cycle in Scorpio
“Crimson leaves” photo by Lyn Dalebout
I am posting late due to my travel plans last week. I am thankfully back in the land of red, both the red rock and this still vibrant fresh autumn foliage. Our New SolLunar as already begun, and involves both Juno, asteroid of core and covenant partnerships, and Saturn, the wise Teacher.
A teaching from Saturn came to me in the early morning hours of November 30, at the exact Moon/Saturn conjunction. There is often a depth or heaviness associated with the monthly alignment, and to have it fall so closely the day after a New Moon could have been challenging for many. To me, the voice of Saturn sounds like a wise, loving Elder, offering helpful knowledge about what is real, what actually works, in regards to this dimension we inhabit. Saturn reminded me that radiant vitality is always arising in our daily choices, and in the day-li-ness of our lives; that our future self is constantly and continually being cultivated, literally being created out of today’s actions. Saturn is associated with Time but this teaching is all about the ever-present Now, where all is born. Even though this seems obvious, many people miss this stunning point of personal power, and so remain stuck in musty, out-dated beliefs about Self, or the world, not engaging with the possibility for reinvention.
A nautical analogy is helpful: When you make one tiny shift in your choices, your viewpoints, your desires, it is like the rudder on a boat that will literally set you on a different course, and so, timeline. It’s hard to see how important subtle daily choices and shifts are, but if you envision five or thirty years into your future, you can imagine how a certain choice today will create an entirely different life trajectory and thus, an entirely different you. So if you want to age in one way (disease-free, getting younger toward death) versus another way (encumbered physically, mentally or emotionally, unhappy), much of that choice is in your hands today, right now, in this moment. That’s what Saturn REALLY wanted me to understand during this month of December that closes out 2016. This spiritual truth can either feel like a huge burden to seek to live so consciously, or it can be intensely liberating to know the spiritual gifts we all have to create lives of health and happiness, both for self and our communities. Saturn wants us to be the boss of our lives, living our true authority, so we can’t be controlled or manipulated by others. This teaching of Saturn is guiding the current political events on every level, inspiring each person to take a stand on what they believe. We are, day by day, moment by moment, constructing a future that will surely be sustainable and healthy for the next generations. And most importantly, everyone has a role to play.
In addition this week, action-oriented Mars makes positive aspects to socially-connected Saturn and Jupiter.

Here is a list of New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from LunarPlanner:
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, a new theme emerges, a new idea or concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen.”
Note: I write my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. If you to work with and within these natural flow of time and supportive cosmic energy, your life will flow with more ease and grace. My interpretations and predictions are based on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. You can read about my unique way of interpreting astrology at this link: EarthWord SkyWord sidereal readings. Even NASA is onboard now with the sidereal zodiac!

Here’s a Star Walk picture of our current New Moon in sidereal Scorpio.
Tue November 29~Wed November 30
Reposting from last week: New SolLunar cycle in sidereal Scorpio square Lunar Nodes/conjunct Juno: That’s a mouthful, to say the least! This promises to be an exciting, potentially life-changing New SolLunar cycle. That’s because the seeding of this New Moon/New Sun decisively squares the South Node (the past you are done with) and the North Node (the future you are embracing). In addition, both Sun and Moon are exactly aligned with the asteroid of Juno, ruler of our soul-level colleagues, marriage partners, people who will become very significant in our lives. It seems this next four-week period is all about our relationships, or creating the relationships we desire, in our lives.
Thu December 1
Mars in Capricorn trine Jupiter in Virgo: This marvelously productive aspect matches the confidence of Jupiter with the passion and activism of Mars, in results-oriented Earth signs of excellence-oriented Capricorn and beautifying Virgo. This energy is with us for the next few days. Power through with renewed certainty and be willing to spend more on achieving a higher quality product or service.
Sun in Scorpio square Neptune in Aquarius: This aspect encourages you to delve more deeply into a creative project or an imaginable (even unimaginable) goal that is calling to you. The square aspect often feels like fear or doubt, and also calls forth decisive action. For some, a stand-off with creative partners may initially ensue, but you can work through the differences to achieve an even better solution.
Fri December 2
Moon/Pluto conjunction square Jupiter in Virgo and Uranus/Ceres in Pisces: I reflect on all the participants at Standing Rock~No DAPL as I write about this aspect. The historic and several months-long conjunction of revolutionary, ground-breaking Uranus, with Mother Earth Ceres, and cosmically disrupting Eris ensures that protests of all sorts will not dissipate, but will only get stronger, with the ever-present threat of violence. Today’s aspect makes standing ground, holding ground, even more impassioned, by all sides. There are tide-turning moments, and today might be one. In addition, this aspect is full of drive, non-stop energy, and renewed confidence.
Moon/Venus conjunction in Capricorn: Be sure to view this stunning alignment live in the night sky around sunset, both tonight and tomorrow night. I often use this inspiring portal to send out my heart’s prayers to the ever-supportive Divine Intelligence, Mystery and Love that radiates from the Cosmos and envelopes our Earth. The wisdom of the Moon and Venus coming together ensures that both your needs and your desires are resonant and aligned. In the sign of Capricorn, clarification can come around professional or parental goals. Or you might have to be the ‘grown-up’ in the room in regards to making a decision.
Sat December 3
Mars in Capricorn sextile Saturn in Scorpio: This stimulating aspect supports a sustained energy output all day, making it easy to pay attention to the practical details of your life (like paying bills) along with making decisions, including financial ones, about business ventures.
Juno in Scorpio square Neptune in Aquarius: This can lead to conversations that uncover cloudy issues, even deceptions, between core partnerships. You may feel momentarily disillusioned in a relationship. Face it honestly, don’t run, or try to escape through old addictive habits. Then you can be assured you will live another day to create a more authentic relationship based on what is really going on.
Pallas Athene enters Aquarius: Our asteroid goddess of creative wisdom enters futuristic, visionary, humanity-minded Aquarius. Your artistic projects take a surprising leap in new directions. It will be a great time to collaborate with others in the coming days on shared visions for a better world.
Sun December 4
Moon/Mars conjunction in Capricorn: This combative and truth-telling aspect takes hold around sundown and into the night, leading to direct conversations. If you can’t fall asleep, drink calming tea, or, forego that and decide to stay up late to prepare for tomorrow’s activities.
Mon December 5
Moon/Pallas Athene conjunction in Aquarius: A perfect aspect for Monday morning meetings and brain-storming sessions, geared toward coming up with a more innovative strategy or way to see a situation. Share lunch with a friend, or ask a new acquaintance to share some get-to-know-you time.
Tue December 6
Moon/South Lunar Node/Neptune conjunction square Juno in Scorpio: Planets on the South Lunar Node (which governs what we are bringing to closure in our life) help us shed the past more readily, realizing it’s time to let go. Today’s influence of the emotional Moon and imaginative Neptune might magically demonstrate to you the inexplicable Mystery that is intuitively guiding you at all moments. At the very least, you will be shown your next step, which may be the only thing you know. Rely on your faith today.
Mercury in Sagittarius quincunx Vesta in Cancer: Adjustments need to be made in terms of being stuck in the past (Cancer) or moving forward into the future (Sagittarius). Find a way to make your visionary ideas safe enough for others to get on board and trust your lead.
