New SolLunar Cycle in Gemini
“Organic Life” painting by Alissa Davies
It’s New Moon again, and this time, Sun, Moon, along with Mercury and Venus, begin anew in sidereal Gemini. Gemini is talkative and inquisitive, lives to travel, and functions as either a black/white judgmental judge, or seeks to accept the full range of humanity’s capacity for light and dark. Also this week, the superior Sun/Mercury conjunction on July 6, marks the happy finale of the spring-time-long Mercury retrograde, that encouraged us to clear up, clear out and complete everything that’s been cluttering our lives. There are many optimistic transits this week. Read on.
Thank you, Alissa, for allowing me to share your organic and evocative paintings for this entire SolLunar cycle. I will posting a new painting of Alissa’s, each week, for the coming month.

Here is a list of New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from LunarPlanner:
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, a new theme emerges, a new idea or concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen.”
Note: I write my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. If you to work with and within these natural flow of time and supportive cosmic energy, your life will flow with more ease and grace. My interpretations and predictions are based on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. In this photo from Star Walk, see how the Sun, Moon, Venus and Mercury all align in sidereal Gemini for our New Moon:
Mon July 4
New SolLunar cycle in Gemini: True to the travel-loving, exploratory nature this New Moon in sidereal Gemini, I’ve set in motion a long-desired return trip to Hawaii by the end of this year. New adventures beckon all of us, in our own ways. Where is your curiosity guiding you? With the prominent alignments of this New Moon with the leadership stars of Sirius and Canopus, we need to decide this: Do we offer wise, evolutionary guidance to others, or do we seek to dogmatically tell them we know what is in their best interests, both sides of dualistic Gemini. One method is effective, the other….not so much. This will be a theme for the coming month.
Moon/Venus conjunction in Gemini: With this monthly conjunction, what you want and what you need become one in the same. Yet Gemini can be somewhat indecisive. It’s a good time to just be open and explore all the good fun happening around you, assuming what you need and what you want are appearing right in front of you.
Tue July 5
Moon in Cancer square Uranus/Ceres conjunction in Aries: The homebody Cancer Moon makes a decisive square to the on-going breakthrough conjunction of Uranus/Ceres, liberating us to find new homes, new relationships, clearing the way for an entirely new life cycle beginning. The next step appears, or requires a decision needs to be made.
Wed July 6
Sun/Mercury conjunction in Gemini: I’ve been writing about the interior, challenging Mercury retrograde of May (you can re-read my previous posts). Today’s superior conjunction of mindful Mercury to the illuminating Sun liberates us all into a new clarity of thinking and focus. Taking place in Gemini, you can use this dynamism of curiosity to banish boredom and scout out emerging possibilities that will make your life interesting.
Venus in Gemini trine Mars in Libra: A delightful energetic, this cooperative aspect ensures you act upon your heart’s directives. Harmonious connection between the sexes is happening.
Thu July 7
Sun/Mercury in Gemini opposite Pluto in Sagittarius: Is your mind overly obsessing on something or bursting open with new ideas? Such is the nature of our annual Sun’s opposition to delving Pluto. If you are working on a creative project, especially you writers, today is the day to dive in, take risks, and rewrite your genre.
Fri July 8
Moon in Leo opposite Neptune in Aquarius square Saturn in Neptune: You can feel exceedingly hopeful or be doubting your dreams with this alignment. The on-going historic square of Saturn to Neptune has us all deconstructing, then reconstructing our dreams. This aspect brings confidence to follow your bliss and joy, the gift of a Leo Moon.
Sat July 9
Sun in Gemini sextile Jupiter/Moon in Leo: A hope-filled sign is this, the bright lights of both Sun and Jupiter meet up in an exciting, joyful sextile. It is full of confidence and push to try something new, anything, a new food, a new book, relocating, a new tactic or strategy.
Sun July 10
Mercury in Gemini trine Mars in Libra: This passionate, communicative and cooperative aspect ensures the brave activists in our world are even more successful in pressuring for needed change. And it makes us all want to stand up and be vocal in what we most care about. We can all be courageous leaders in this time of evolution.
Venus in Cancer square Ceres in Aries: Implement and integrate what you love and value into all the arenas that you nurture ~ home, work, organizations. Also, important conversations arise, if you are willing to face the truth.
Mercury enters Cancer square Uranus in Aries: This exact alignment happens after midnight, triggering moments of temporary mental breakdowns or breakthroughs that lead to insight and illumination. You might have an active dreamtime, or have a hard time sleeping. Use your relaxation tools before you head to bed.
