New SolLunar Cycle in Sagittarius

“Flood the world with Light. Flood the world with your Light.” Those are the words that came to me as I sought information about this week’s New Moon, leading the way into 2017. Fitting phrases, as Sun/Moon/Mercury make a rare exact conjunction in fiery and focused sidereal Sagittarius. May you take the coming four weeks of this New SolLunar cycle to set seeds of intentions of how you will shine your light brighter through these shadowed but extraordinary times.
Also, as the current Mercury retrograde is happening near Pluto, opportunity is given for many souls, including our beloved animals, to pass on, if they are ready to go. This aspect was also occurring last January. Blessings to your grieving heart, if this be the case.
There’s more! Its can be an unpredictable but exciting week anytime Uranus turns direct (December 29) along with the extra celebratory and extra spiritual Mars/Neptune conjunction on New Year’s Eve.

New SolLunar cycle: Sun/Moon/Mercury conjunction in Sagittarius: New Moon happens near midnight today, so this can be a busy day, full of last minute surprises, finishing tasks, resolving important communications. You can reread here about how the previous cycle was all about your core relationships, including the one you have with yourself. This new cycle promises to be all about our thought processes, stimulating brilliant ideas, and communications, given the alignment with mental Mercury. What an exceptionally potent beginning for the New SolLunar that takes us into the Gregorian calendar New Year of 2017.
Because Mercury is still in retrograde until January 8, the more interior nature of this aspect lends itself to listening to others and to your own deep heart longings. Continue to use this inspirational time over the HolyDays, till Epiphany on January 6, with intention and purpose, and you will discover how conscious focusing now makes the whole year ahead happen with more miracles and synchronicity. Apply the effort and be open to grace.
Uranus leaves retrograde: This might make for a restless night as you head to bed tonight. Uranus stations direct early tomorrow morning around 2:30 am MST. Uranus rules electricity, lighting systems and the nervous system and can lead to misfiring of your nerves or literally spark a fire or fire alarm suddenly screeching. Find ways to calm yourself before sleep, if you want to sleep. A hot lavender bath, some calming chamomile tea, deep breathing and meditation.

Uranus turns direct: It’s always an electrifying day when Uranus turns direct (from it’s retrograde from late July) and can lead to sudden or shocking turning points. Power or internet outages make occur. Make sure holiday lights aren’t overheating and be cautious around fire and while driving. And if you feel jittery, dizzy or headachy, know it’s all part of the current cosmic upgrade affecting our nervous systems. Uranus turning forward again is cosmic permission to BE YOURSELF in the most authentic ways. Celebrate being YOU!
Saturn in Scorpio square Chiron in Aquarius: This fairly rare alignment, occurring the same day as Uranus turns direct, could lead to severing of ties with people or situations, or just mark a major point of completion in your life. Also, odd things can happen in regards to time, like misreading the clock, or losing track of time altogether. Don’t be alarmed (pun intended).
Moon/Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius: Adding to the already fiery New Moon, this monthly aspect adds volatility or just intensity to what you are feeling. Feel the enthusiasm and try not to overdo the drama.
Venus enters Aquarius: The planet of love and beauty enters eccentric, trend-setting Aquarius. Reach beyond your comfort zone to communicate with someone you would normally overlook. There’s nothing normal about Aquarius, an astrological sign that’s all about dreaming of a new future and striving for the most original creativity still to be expressed by all our Aquarian rainbow human tribe.

Sun in Sagittarius sextile Neptune in Aquarius: This fun-loving aspect shines optimism and hope on our world as we close out 2016. It’s perfect for ceremonies/conversations about future goals and dreams, especially with a dear friend or in a supportive group.
Moon in Capricorn opposite Vesta in Cancer: Moon/Vesta alignments tend to bring a greater ability to focus on our feelings. This opposition involves the signs of family, parenting and caregiving and can lead to important conversations with a child or elder parent.

Mars/Neptune conjunction in Aquarius: Wow to this cosmic synchronicity! This New Year’s Eve, Mars (passion and forceful energy) makes a once- every-two-year conjunction with Neptune (big dreams, compassion AND big imbibing, so be careful!) in friendship Aquarius. This promises to be one celebratory night for many as we welcome in 2017. If need be, the helpful aspect of the Capricorn Moon translates to the responsible designated driver getting everyone home safely. Use some part of today and tomorrow, alone or with others, to set overall intentions for the upcoming year. This aspect quite literally is capable of creating magical portals to other dimensions and activates the wild imagination. Just like the Blue Portal image above, allow yourself to be carried safely, in the arms of your own true Beloved within, your wiser Inner Self, through the gateway of what has been, to the place of beginning anew, ever guided by your faith and trust that you are creating, reimagining your life.

Moon/Venus/Pallas Athene conjunction: This is another excellent aspect for invoking the power of intention, and is especially good for coming up with a strategic plan. My theory about the intention process comes from my years in improvisational dance: Have a general idea of where you are beginning and where you want to end up, and intuitively sense the time frame of how long it might take to get from here to there. Then, give yourself over to the Mystery of movement to see where you are guided and inspired to go. This way you are both in charge of the dance, while also opening to and honoring the many supportive forces in the Universe that are assisting you in manifesting your dreams. It really works! Your only job is to believe and trust.

Moon in Aquarius conjunct South Lunar Node: There can be a nostalgic feeling when the emotional Moon makes a monthly meet-up with the South Lunar Node, symbolic of the past. Aquarius’s influence can manifest as a helpful conversation with a good friend, or a parting of ways.
Moon/Mars/Neptune conjunction in Aquarius: Tonight, the Moon triggers the spiritual warrior aspect of Mars/Neptune conjunction which can lead to fierce conversations or just a temporary flaring of tempers if you have been keeping a lid on speaking your truth.

Mercury retrograde sextile Venus in Aquarius: Important information rises to the surface via sudden intuitions or through a key conversation with a friend. This aspect links one’s mind and one’s heart with stimulating compatibility.
Wed January 4
Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius square Moon in Pisces: This aspect precedes tomorrow’s more decisive First Quarter Moon. The nature of the intuitive, psychic Moon in Pisces manifests as insights rising surface, at the edge of your awareness, about what’s to come, leading to a day of premonitions.
