Full Moon in sidereal Leo/Aquarius
“360 Sunset at Totality ~ Cottonwood Creek” photo by Lyn Dalebout
This Full Moon in sidereal Leo/Aquarius is manifesting as major fire (Leo) and water (Aquarius) catastrophes, all part of the quickening and awakening of the our recent Total Solar Eclipse. It is also conjunct Neptune (ruler of the oceans, imagination, compassion) and reverberates back to the February 26 Partial Solar Eclipse which began our preparation for Totality.
Here is an excerpt from my past post: “A very auspicious Solar Eclipse portal arrives this week with the New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Aquarius. Aquarian New Moons always portend future events or trends and launch greater community involvement and action. My sidereal colleague and friend, Nick Anthony Fiorenza, writes this: “Our New Moon eclipse in Aquarius conjoins the stars forming the Urn of Aquarius. The stars of the Urn articulate natural resources and the flow of those resources to humanity. They all impel an altruistic and humanitarian expression….also called the Angel Point of the Zodiak.” Indeed, Angels are around and amongst us at all times. This post’s photograph of this water web, an Earth Oracle, appeared on a desert dawn walk last week, the same day I dreamt about Indra’s Net. Indra’s Net is a perfect metaphor for the sign of Aquarius as it speaks to the interconnectedness of the universe, and how every Being is a unique jewel in the web of Life that also mirrors and reflects every other jewel in the universe.”
There are many aspects during this next two week period that support friends helping friends helping neighbors helping beloveds helping others helping a stranger helping community members helping an animal…and on and on it goes. Indra’s net is deeply at work strengthening our bonds of compassion for all Beings.
Here in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, earthquakes continue to swarm and shake up our region. Check out the data here from a long-time family friend, University of Utah professor and Greater Yellowstone earthquake guru, Bob Smith .
Thank you, dear friend, Gregory Perna, for the gift of posting your channeled original symbols for this entire historic SolLunar Cycle. They are a meditative blessing to our world. Gregory’s Artist Statement is at the end of this post.

Here is a brief synopsis of the Full Moon characteristics that hold true to every Full Moon from my from my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at Lunar Planner.
“The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration. The day just after the Full Moon is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, of what the activities of the first half of the lunar cycle, culminating into the enthusiasm of the Full Moon, are really about. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”

Full Moon: Sun in Leo opposite Moon/Neptune in Aquarius: When a Full Moon takes place in conjunction with Neptune, expect anything from mystical experiences, magical events, over-indulging in addictive behaviors, feeling ungrounded or spacey, feeling overwhelmed with compassion for the suffering in our world. Today’s Full Moon brings to fruition what was seeded in you during the February 26 Partial Solar Eclipse .
Here is an excerpt from my post back then: “A very auspicious Solar Eclipse portal arrives this week with the New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Aquarius. As this is the Full Moon following the Total Solar Eclipse of August 21, claim the unique jewel you are in our world, and find ways to share more and more of your unique Light, love, joy, wisdom, wonder, humor, compassion, depth.
Mercury turns direct: Mercury turns direct the same day as a Full Moon! Good news, triggering a desire to follow through on dreams that you have set in motion. This Mercury cycle is extra-dynamic as it has been transiting back and forth across Regulus, the same star that governed and guided the meaning behind the recent Great American Eclipse. Mercury is also in a helpful trine to inventive Uranus, called the Great Awakener, possibly bringing an important clue, insight, communication. Something that has vanished may reappear today.
Wed September 6
Sun in Leo trine Pallas Athene in Aries: This lovely aspect brings a natural organizational flow to your life and activities and helps you redesign anything. It also activates inner courage to move forward, calls forth your intuitive gifts.
Moon in Aquarius opposite Vesta in Leo: Call in a friend, or help a friend, to get focused and organized, coaching each other in uplifting ways. It’s also excellent for teams of people to work together in a focused way.
Thu September 7
Moon/Chiron conjunction in Pisces: Emotions flow easily with this monthly alignment, releasing pent-up grief, sorrow, feelings of compassion for yourself or what you are witnessing around you. Reach out to someone in need or ask for the help you need.
Venus in Cancer semi-sextile Sun in Leo: The semi-sextile aspect in astrology is one of stimulation and excitation. This one supports sharing your joy with those you consider to be your family, your tribe. Practice setting intentions for those you love, and receive their good intentions for you in return.
Fri September 8
Sun in Leo trine Pluto in Sagittarius quincunx Moon in Pisces: Steady energy and artistic surges accompany the trine of Sun to powerhouse Pluto. Yet the quincunx to the emotional Pisces Moon tempers the fire of DOING with the necessary balance of listening and BEING.
Venus in Cancer quincunx Pluto in Sagittarius: Use the fiery drive of Pluto in Sagittarius to do some house-cleaning, literally or figuratively.
Sat September 9
Moon/Uranus conjunction in Aries trine Mars in Leo: This exuberant combo makes for an energized Saturn’s day and evening. Saturn likes to focus and get stuff done and the trine of Moon to Mars in Leo is excellent for accomplishing recreational or creative goals.
Sun September 10
Mars in Leo trine Juno in Sagittarius: This playful aspect is about actively helping a beloved or colleague with a task, or create something new together. It’s a perfect day for non-stop recreation and the reclaiming the child-like wonder of play.
Mon September 11
Moon in Taurus square Mercury/Mars in Leo: It’s back to business with the practical Taurus Moon in a tense but productive square to thinking Mercury and doing Mars. Our nervous systems are still massively overstimulated by the energies that were downloaded to Earth at the Total Solar Eclipse, along with giant erupting sunspots and deep space transmissions. Our minds are super-energized and over-active right now, so today’s calming Taurus Moon can help us slow down, meditate and ground ourselves daily, or better yet, settle yourself several times a day.
Vesta in Virgo opposite Chiron in Pisces: This aspect mirrors the life-giving supplies and assistance being given to those who are suffering through the loss of everything they owned in flood and fire. Healing solutions can be found today in various therapeutic environments.
Tue September 12
Venus in Cancer trine Saturn in Scorpio: Venus rules our personal finances and today’s helpful trine to Saturn encourages you to make practical purchases for your home or family members. It’s also great for organizing your space and clearing your clutter.

Last Quarter Moon
“Sentient” by Gregory Perna
Here is a description of the qualities of the Last Quarter Moon phase compliments of my friend and sidereal colleague, Nick Anthony Fiorenza at Lunar Planner:
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. A sense of completion comes forth with a recognition that the past scenario has served its purpose and it is time to leave what is antiquated behind. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.”
Wed September 13
Last Quarter Moon: Sun in Leo square Moon in Taurus square Saturn in Scorpio: The hard-edged square of this Last Quarter Moon to Saturn brings a severity, seriousness, momentary dropping down into your depths. You might confront or be confronted by your limitations. This can allow you to see more clearly what is inhibiting you from living the life you desire. Saturn both closes doors and opens new ones. Be honest but steer clear of harsh judgments about yourself or others. Honor all the hard work you’ve done to arrive where you are now. If you feel exhausted, then rest.
Mercury in Leo trine Juno in Sagittarius: Partners communicate with ease today and work colleagues seek harmony, taking the optimistic view.
Moon in Gemini opposite Juno in Sagittarius: Sagittarius thinks big and Gemini seeks to bring those ideas down to earth by handling all the details. With today’s opposition of the emotional Moon to partnership Juno, book that dream trip you and your beloveds have been envisioning. Voracious reading is also a good option, even finding new streams of information that serve your emerging interests.
Thu September 14
Venus/North Lunar Node conjunction in sidereal Cancer: Say goodbye to an old home/relationship (Venus in Cancer) as you say hello to a new way of inhabiting your world. Transits to the North Lunar Node mark moments where we are stepping into our future lives with more confidence and conviction. Let love lead the way, Venus’s advice.
Moon in Gemini opposite Pluto in Sagittarius: This aspect is similar to yesterday’s, so I repeat this: Sagittarius thinks big and Gemini seeks to bring those ideas down to earth. Voracious reading might take hold of you, even finding new streams of information that serve your emerging interests. For you runners, this is the perfect day for a successful run or training session.
Fri September 15
Moon/Ceres conjunction in Cancer: This aspect is all about comfort: comfort food, staying cozy in bed longer, curling up in a good reading chair, or comforting your children or elders with a nurturing meal or time spent conversing. It’s also great for putting your garden to bed for the coming depth of winter when roots pull inward, downward for rest and replenishment. Take a one day retreat, if you are in need.
Sat September 16
Mercury/Mars conjunction in Leo: This final conjunction of mental Mercury to action-oriented Mars concludes the recent dynamic Mercury retrograde that was intertwined with the Total Solar Eclipse. Out of your inner reflections, you are ready and equipped for action. It will be a dynamic day of activism on our planet.
Moon in Cancer: Spend time at home or in the lands you love with this nurtured-by-earth, Cancer Moon.
Jupiter enters sidereal Libra: This is big news. Jupiter completes it’s year-long transit through Virgo the Virgin, a time in which we came to greater clarity about our boundaries, what is healthy for us, and what no longer serves us. Expansive Jupiter now enters relational, harmonizing Libra and we enter a year-long cycle of reaching out in partnerships of all kinds, sure to spark new relationships and alliances that support who we have become.
Sun September 17
Venus in Leo trine Uranus in Aries: Break free of ruts and routines in your relationship and be willing to experiment with the help of freedom-loving Uranus. Purchase something that speaks to your uniqueness, dye your hair a new color, reach beyond your comfort zone.
Moon/North Lunar Node conjunction in Cancer: Transits to the North Lunar Node mark moments where we are stepping into our future lives with more confidence and conviction. The Moon is about living our emotional truth, no matter where it might lead. Feel that emotional courage today.
Mon September 18
Moon/Mercury/Mars conjunction in Leo: Today concludes the planetary-shifting Total Solar Eclipse SolLunar Cycle (WOW!) and it ends in fireworks with this dynamic trio of emotions, mind, body. They unite with a combined focus in Leo, the astrological sign of joy, creativity, living your heart’s truth. Take time to celebrate your life in some way today, welcoming the New Moon tomorrow.
