Full Moon Penumbral Eclipse in Pisces/Virgo

It’s the week of a Full Moon Eclipse, taking place with the Sun in sidereal Pisces (ruler of the ocean’s mysteries) and the Moon in Virgo (health coach for our Earthly lives). It is called a Penumbral Eclipse because the Sun, Earth and Moon are not in a straight line alignment. You might feel wobbly physically and emotionally as you experience the effects of this revealing alignment reverberating throughout our planetary field.
This Full Moon is also aligned exactly with Mercury, bringing a clarity of thought to everyone, and also with the Dwarf Planet Makemake. Here is short excerpt from my friend and sidereal colleague, Nick Anthony Fiorenza, that describes the meaning this planetary body:
“Makemake, is the Polynesian name for the creator god of humanity in the mythology of the South Pacific island of Rapa Nui (Easter Island). Makemake was recently discovered on March 31, 2005. Makemake appears to bring attention to leadership issues regarding the administration of resources; and in areas involving economics, ecology and human survival. Makemake may also act to sort out those who are truly worthy of being in a leadership role from those who are not.”
That last sentence caught my attention in regards to our current election frenzy.
In addition, there are several more planetary crossings over the South Lunar Node, indicating we are all still deeply immersed in clearing out old debris or completing major phases of our lives. For some, this process might be deeply painful. Others may experience a of joyful enthusiasm as beckoning possibilities emerge. Either way, effort is required to stay positive about the future.
This past week, SeaWorld finally announced they will no longer breed Orcas in captivity, and they will end the circus show that has kept these magnificent Beings imprisoned for decades. Blessings and gratitude to Tilikum, who is nearing his final transition. The unimaginably sacrifices he and so many Animal Others have made so that we might awaken to a shared compassion with our Cetacean friends, is beyond comprehension.

Full Moon in Virgo opposite Sun/Mercury conjunction in Pisces: The real news about today’s Full Moon Eclipse is the exact conjunction of our Sun with messenger Mercury. It’s a great day to treat yourself to some kind or restorative massage or therapeutic joy of choice.
