Full Moon in Scorpio/Taurus
” Cosmic Connection” detail of painting by Adam Paol Seagram
Did you feel jittery or disturbed energetically last weekend? SpaceWeather reported that the solar wind was blowing around Earth faster than 600 km/s — more than twice as fast as usual, causing magnetic unrest. Magnetic unrest. That’s one way to describe what’s going on.
Yes, it’s another dynamic Full Moon, a perfect 10 on a scale of 10. 10, as is in new beginnings. But THE most important astrological moment this week comes on December 19, as Mercury turns retrograde exactly aligned with Pluto, a planet that seeks to grab power at all costs or face the brutally honest truth of a situation. It’s a cosmic miracle, perhaps an intervention, this is the day the Electoral College meets to certify, or not, the results of the election, conceivably reversing the course of the current Presidential catastrophe (def. of catastrophe: an event causing great and often sudden damage or suffering).
Retrograde Mercury implies that things will not progress as planned, that negotiations still need to be worked out until more information is gathered. It also implies people are turned inward, better able to analyze what’s going on based on their own inner guidance, not just historical or peer pressure. Mercury retrograde will encourage people to think for themselves, come up with their own conclusions. More disruption in an already disruptive election cycle is at hand. The dates to watch will be December 19, the day Mercury goes retrograde, then January 8, the day Mercury turns direct again, then January 29, the final conjunction of Mercury and Pluto.
Thank you, Adam Paol, for letting me post your inspiring painting on this Full Moon.

Here is a brief synopsis of the Full Moon characteristics that hold true to every Full Moon from my from my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at Lunar Planner.
“The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration. The day just after the Full Moon is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, of what the activities of the first half of the lunar cycle, culminating into the enthusiasm of the Full Moon, are really about. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”
Note: I write my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. If you work with and within the natural flow of time and supportive cosmic energies, your life will flow with more ease and grace. My interpretations and predictions are based on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. You can read about my unique way of interpreting astrology at this link: EarthWord SkyWord sidereal readings. Even NASA is onboard now with the sidereal zodiac! And you can always read about my star weather predictions from previous week’s at Star Signposts.

“Cosmic Connection” acrylic mixed media on stretched canvas by Adam Paol Seagram
Tue December 13
Full Moon: Sun in Scorpio opposite Moon in Taurus: As this marks the third and final SuperMoon this fall, this day can be full of drama, surprise, sudden awakening to new truths buried within. Due to the tense square to Chiron, the magical healer, grievances rise to surface as well as healing from old grief or dismays of the past. It’s time to start fresh with new focus, dedication and commitment, as both Sun and Moon are also squaring Saturn, the planetary teacher of giving birth to new conditions in our lives. You might experience a full range of emotional waves in the next few days. Be grateful you can feel so deeply about things.
Wed December 14
Mars/Pallas Athene conjunction in Aquarius: This is an aspect of master strategists and supports the activism of revolutionary, futuristic Aquarius. Past solutions will no longer work. It’s time to take a calculated risk.
Moon in Gemini trine Neptune in Aquarius: The gregarious, curious Gemini Moon makes a happy trine to compassionate, creative Neptune in Aquarius, excellent for giving and receiving wise advice from many sources, even while standing in line at the Post Office.
Moon in Gemini opposite Mercury in Sagittarius: The multi-tasking wonder of this portal ensures you can blast through those emails, and manage the many pressing details of life with enthusiasm and flow.
Thu December 15
Moon in Gemini triggers Pluto/Uranus/Jupiter: What happens today might hold clues as to how the upcoming Mercury retrograde of December 19 might manifest, both in your personal life and at the global level. Pay attention, take notes (Gemini is the secretary of the zodiac) and stay curious.
Sun enters Sagittarius: As the external and internal Light of our life-giving Sun enters firelit Sagittarius, a feeling of hope and vision can re-enter our world. With our warrioress/warrior Selves in tact, we regain a sense of faith to face what’s coming next, ready to serve truth, the truth of Love, Sagittarius’s gift.
Fri December 16
Moon/Vesta conjunction in Cancer: The pull to stay home is strong with this aspect. House-cleaning, organizing, entertaining at home, and connecting with family take the lead today.
Sat December 17
Grand trine in water signs: This aspect creates a sense of emotional harmony in our inner selves and/or in the relationships that sustain us. Moon in Cancer seeks to communicate with those you consider family. Saturn/Juno in Scorpio helps us appreciate the commitments we have with our deepest colleagues and compatriots. Uranus/Ceres/Eris in Pisces encourages us to create fresher alliances with those we want to call family going forward. Visit a nurturing water environment, such as lake, river, spa. Water is Life.
Sun December 18
Moon conjunct Regulus opposite Mars in Aquarius: Regulus is the regal star that insists we live from a place of our heart’s truth, the place of true integrity. This hopeful sky alignment with speak-your-truth Mars encourages people to vote their heart, make choices from what they know is true, in all situations.
Sun in Sagittarius sextile Pallas Athene in Aquarius: This highly strategic dynamic ensures people are deciding today what is in the best future for all humanity, the greater Good.
Moon/North Lunar Node conjunction in Leo opposite Neptune: This aspect allows people to see through illusions or activate the power of their imagination to shift things, or decide they will keep their rose-colored glasses on so as to avoid facing the harsh truth. It’s a party aspect, which can be both delightful or involve over-indulgence.
Mon December 19
Mercury retrograde/Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius: When Mercury appears to travel backward (retrograde) in our heavens for three weeks, three times a year, we are given moments to pause, rest, reflect, research, then move forward when Mercury turns direct again. It’s nice that this year, over our holidays, HolyDays, which is a natural time to rest and reflect, Mercury will be in retrograde until January 8, 2017. However….this cycle might pose challenges in our communications with family members and others, but also encourages an open mind, and a desire to view things from the perspective of ‘the big picture’, what Sagittarius is all about.
Mercury turns retrograde exactly aligned with Pluto, a planet that seeks to grab power at all costs or face the brutally honest truth of a situation. It’s a cosmic miracle, perhaps an intervention, this is the day the Electoral College meets to certify, or not, the results of the election, conceivably reversing the course of the current Presidential catastrophe (def. of catastrophe: an event causing great and often sudden damage or suffering). Retrograde Mercury implies things will not progress as planned, that negotiations still need to be worked out until more information is gathered. It also implies people are turned inward, better able to analyze what’s going on based on their own inner guidance, not just historical or peer pressure. It will also encourage people to think for themselves, come up with their own conclusions. More disruption in an already disruptive election cycle is at hand. The dates to watch are will be December 19, the day Mercury goes retrograde, then January 8, the day Mercury turns direct again, then January 29, the final conjunction of Mercury and Pluto.
Moon in Leo opposite Chiron in Aquarius square Saturn in Scorpio: As the Moon aligns with the later part of Leo, a place of diversionary tactics, hot air and big egos, the tense square to healing Chiron and status-quo Saturn can result in a standoff between the traditional or progressive camps in our body politic.
