Full Moon in Leo/Aquarius
“Storm over Phoenix, Arizona”
The storm pictured above actually happened over Phoenix, Arizona this past summer. What a fitting image for the increasing tension of the Mars/Saturn conjunction, building in our bodies and in our collective field, exact on August 24. We will be feeling this teeth-clenching, determined aspect building this week, along with another more upbeat conjunction of Mercury and Jupiter in sidereal Virgo. Read all about these events below.

Here is a brief synopsis of the Full Moon characteristics that hold true to every Full Moon from my from my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at Lunar Planner.
“The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration. The day just after the Full Moon is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, of what the activities of the first half of the lunar cycle, culminating into the enthusiasm of the Full Moon, are really about. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”
Note: I write my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. If you work with and within the natural flow of time and supportive cosmic energies, your life will flow with more ease and grace. My interpretations and predictions are based on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. Thu August 18
Full Moon: Sun in Leo and Moon/Pallas Athene in Aquarius: This particular Full Moon may be extra-celebratory with your friends and community members, as that is the nature of the Leo/Aquarius opposition. Because the Moon is also conjunct Pallas Athene (the ruler of strategy and creative wisdom) it’s an excellent time to brain-storm cutting edge ideas and collaborations, or help one another come up with a better life-plan going forward. Aquarius is all about the future, and also about caring for the whole of humanity.
Grand Trine in Air signs: As the day progresses, a lovely, communicative trine forms between the friendship Aquarian Moon, the partnership asteroid of Juno in peace-making Libra, and the focused and safety-oriented Vesta in Gemini. It’s a great night for a party where all feel supported.
Fri August 19
Moon/Neptune/South Lunar Node conjunction in Aquarius square Mars/Saturn in Scorpio: This aspect unfolds in various dimensions throughout the day. First off, it might lead to important, even visionary, early morning dreams. Then the Moon will trigger either the frustration or determination of the Mars/Saturn conjunction in dark Scorpio, leading to confrontations, truth-telling, or lending a helping hand to someone who is extremely challenged. As I write this, I am reflecting on our fellow humans left homeless by the extreme current fire and water crises. If we cannot be physically present to help, may we often pray for the safety and peace for those facing these unprecedented challenges.
Sat August 20
Sun in Leo opposite Pallas Athene in Aquarius: This annual alignment might bring good news about plans you have already set in motion, or might nudge you to make a plan and reach out to those who might be able to help you. It’s an excellent day to organizing your home, belongings, storage units, making preparations for upcoming journeys.
Moon/Chiron conjunction in Aquarius: Emotional vulnerability with others is part of this aspect, along with inadvertently saying something that might hurt someone’s feelings. But Chiron also brings about an ease of forgiveness if you are willing to be open and listen.
Sun August 21
Moon in Pisces trine Mars/Saturn conjunction: Today’s relaxed, go-with-the-flow Moon in Pisces brings a one-day welcomed softening of the Mars/Saturn jaw-gripping tension. Use the serious Mars/Saturn energy to seriously rest, relax, recoup, restore.
Mon August 22
Mercury/Jupiter conjunction in Virgo: We are now in the ‘shadow’ period of an upcoming Mercury retrograde cycle that will run from August 30-September 21 (more about that in future posts). In addition, today marks the first of three fusions of mental Mercury with optimistic, expansive Jupiter. This cycle can bring a feeling of hopefulness and possibility, if you are willing and able to keep your thoughts positive and focused on what you want. Use this wonderful alignment with exuberant Jupiter to commit to conscious daily practices like meditation and visualization. This entire cycle of creation be in play all through September, culminating on October 11.
Tue August 23
Mars/Saturn conjunction in Scorpio: Ouch, and GRRRR….., and yikes! Even though this aspect is exact tomorrow, we have been living it for sometime, and especially today. Mars and Saturn in old-time astrology are often called ‘malefic’, meaning they tend to show up as bringers of limitation, restriction, frustration, and fighting. As they are meeting up in delving, death-bringing, political, power-conscious Scorpio, conflicts come to a boiling head or conflagration. However, another side of this aspect, not so malefic, sparks extreme determination to accomplish great feats. It also marks a major turning point leading to a new ferocity of commitment, that actually began last February. All the things you have been saying you want to do, now you actually feel you can say ‘no’ to the old habits and ‘yes’ to the new. Everything I wrote about today will be even more amplified tomorrow.
