First Quarter Moon

Thank you, gifted artist Victoria, for observing and capturing these adorable Chipmunks, chomping down their vitamin C from a wild Rose hip, as they prepare for their upcoming winter season. ‘Tis the season for all of us to be gathering that which is nurturing and sustaining going forward, be that food, supplements, supplies, relationships, thoughts. This week, we have two important conjunctions of fusion, one about the heart ~ Venus/Juno ~ and one about the mind ~ Mercury/Jupiter. And by the end of the week, a dynamic warrior Full Moon is taking shape for October 15. Hopefully this week’s Star Signposts will help your prepare!

Saturn square Lunar Nodes: This rare aspect always marks a major turning point and shift for all of society. Pay attention to what’s happening in the news to note how the tide is shifting in new directions. Saturn, the structural reformer of our lives, is saying goodbye to the Leo, the ‘me’ sign, and heading toward Aquarius, the ‘us’ sign, launching a decade of new events and trends. This isn’t a one-day event. It has been coming in for several weeks, and will continue for several weeks. We certainly see this influencing this erratic, disruptive election cycle.
First Quarter Moon: Moon in Sagittarius square Sun in Virgo: With our Sun currently transiting through sidereal Virgo (linked to health, harvest and hard work), making an activation square to the emotional Moon in athletic, direct Sagittarius, a powerful weekend of accomplishments and enthusiasm awaits you. Follow your passion, set in motion your own new initiatives, and move the body in revitalizing activities.
Moon/Mars/Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius: This aspect provides a constant and clean burning energy all weekend and can also pressure you to stand up for what you truly believe. What happens to you on Saturday might be a precursor to what will come on October 19, when Mars and Pluto make a once-every-two-year conjunction that can launch a dynamic two-year creative cycle of adventure and exploring new interests.
Mon October 10
Venus/Juno in Libra conjunction trine Chiron in Aquarius: This several-day exquisite portal of Love sparks new alliances, exceptional compatibility, cooperation, collaboration. If you are engaged in any legal contracts, you might have a harmonious resolution. You might reconnect with once-alienated friends, honoring that taking space was necessary, but you are ready to begin anew. Or you might at last let someone go in true unconditional Love.
Moon in Capricorn trine Jupiter/Mercury in Virgo: This productive aspect is excellent for organization and sorting through what needs to go and what you should most definitely keep.
Tue October 11
Jupiter/Mercury conjunction in Virgo: This marks the third and final conjunction of mental Mercury with expansive Jupiter. Remember how Mercury was retrograde much of September? Out of all the reflection, release, re-evaluation that took place during that period, all systems are go now! You might be filled with mental brilliance, endless energy, renewed optimism today and for the coming days. Be sure to keep a stability of mind, too, with simple sustaining meditation practices, be that sitting, walking the dog, reading with your children, cooking with consciousness.
Moon/Pallas Athene in Capricorn: This might bring a clarity in some new life-strategy you are setting in motion, and is excellent for organizing the details to make that happen. I just recently learned that anticipatory planning actually releases dopamine (the feel good neurotransmitter) in our brains (thank you, Julia Heemstra!). You can always dream of taking that eventual vacation, or starting a new career, or moving to a more suitable location, so hone those intentions today.

Moon/Neptune/South Lunar Node conjunction in Aquarius: The Moon meets up with imaginative, spacey Neptune, currently aligned with the South Lunar Node, which oversees the stubborn roots of the past. For some, this aspect might help bust through illusions about the past so as to see things with renewed clarity. Others might hook up with old friends or be inundated with strange dreams of historic, even past life events. The uncomfortable dream can actually free you from your past, so note it, and let it go. Then begin to create a new dreamscape of desire that will surely appear, in time. Lastly, make time for your grounding practices so your don’t float away or misplace objects.

Mercury in Virgo square Mars in Sagittarius: This aspect can create agitation in your mind and force a sharp tongue. It’s also great for focused research, activism, and speaking with an honesty that you didn’t know you had. It might mess with your travel plans, so practice patience.
Moon/Chiron conjunction in Aquarius: This monthly alignment is good for healing conversations. Seek out alternative healers to help you solve an issue that continues to puzzle mainstream medicine. Wild magic happens, too, under this sky portal of shaman’s time.
Venus enters Scorpio: As our planet of love, art, values, money, moves into the deep waters of Scorpio for several weeks, you can be come more exploratory, obsessed and driven to succeed in all of the above areas.

Moon in Pisces opposite Jupiter in Virgo: Today’s aspect opens the door to the wonder-filled Full Moon tomorrow. Pisces is imaginative, dream-like, and can long to escape this world, which can also lead to an unconscious denial of what is really going on or addictions that distract you. The discerning Sun in Virgo can help you cut to the core and examine and heal what’s really going on. Balance doing (Virgo) and non-doing, or Being (Pisces) for the next three days.
