If you have been working really, really hard or faced important challenges for the past months, it’s time for a welcome break. Astrologically, it’s coming this week with Saturn leaving it’s retrograde of March 25 and turning direct on August 13. If you made it to August, you can now feel a great turning toward new possibilities and directions that you have envisioned and awaited. The steely determination and epic patience required by Saturn’s retrograde will finally pay off in real results.
Also this week, Earth will traverse the very visible starry-night extravaganza of the annual Perseids meteor shower, expected to be one of the best in decades, especially on August11-12. Here’s some information from SpaceWeather: “Every year in August, Earth passes through a stream of debris from Comet Swift-Tuttle, source of the annual Perseid meteor shower. This year’s display is going to be even better than usual. ‘Our models predict an outburst on Aug. 11-12 with peak rates greater than 200 meteors/hour under ideally dark skies. That’s about twice as many Perseids as usual.’ explains Bill Cooke of NASA’s Meteoroid Environment Office.”

Jupiter enters sidereal Virgo: Whenever giant, expansive Jupiter enters a new astrological sign, we embark on a year-long phase of societal shifts that create more opportunities for all. Starting today, for a year, Jupiter enters Virgo, which rules hard-work, non-profit service and volunteerism, health professions and healing, writing. Other qualities that will emerge over the coming months are being more judgmental, skillfully discerning, better able to set healthy boundaries. As Jupiter leaves creative Leo, where it lived for the past year, hopefully you discovered more of what brings you happiness and joy. Jupiter in Virgo will help you serve this dream, these desires, and make them a reality in the coming year.
Moon/Mars conjunction in Scorpio: It’s always a day of emotional intensity, even aggression, when Moon aligns with action-oriented Mars. You can use this energy constructively by staying focused and directing yourself in positive directions. It’s physically passionate so move the body. If you are out tonight, counting the shooting stars of the annual Perseid meteor shower, notice the growing Moon next to red Mars.

Jupiter in Virgo opposite Chiron in Pisces: This event can precipitate a healing crisis that seems to come out of the blue which may have been building for a while. Even if you are the picture of health, consider trying an alternative modality to support even greater health. The other gift of this rare alignment is linked to Chiron’s role of being the rainbow bridge, bringing miracles or a surprising solution to what seemed to be an insurmountable challenge. Check in with your local shaman to learn about parallel timelines or making shamanic shifts in your infinite quantum field.
Moon/Saturn/Mars in Scorpio square Venus/Neptune: This aspect is both ferocious, challenging and driven to succeed. My sense of this aspect is that it will mark a major turning point in many people’s lives. The intense releases and inner-diggings of the recent Mars retrograde cycle in Scorpio (re-read my past posts for insight) shook us to our cores, brought massive releases, eliminated all forms of BS from our live. Those frustrating times were absolutely necessary. Now begins a sense of resurrection and renewal, flowering and focusing on what you want to make happen next. Use today’s alignment with imaginative Neptune and heart-based Venus to set in motion your up-scaled life plan.
Moon in Scorpio square Mercury in Leo: Under this alignment your thoughts can be bright and sunny, while your emotions can be dark and deep. You may vacillate between those two dimensions of self today.

Saturn turns direct: This is long-awaited great astrological news. Saturn is a planet that brings form and structure to our world, as well as frustration and impatience due to how long it takes for things to manifest here on Earth. Since March 25, when Saturn went retrograde, you have been reworking your life plan, clearing out the old (I released forty years of my journals) in order to prepare for the emerging directions that have captured your attention. Even though Saturn is turning direct today, keep in mind Saturn moves slowly and so the benefit of this turning might still take a couple weeks to show up. Patience is still required. This fun note: Saturday is named for being Saturn’s Day. How cosmic it turns is direct today!
Venus in Leo square Saturn in Scorpio: When these two planets square off, you may have to pay closer attention to your finances, curb your spending, or confront a challenge in a relationship.

Venus in Leo opposite Neptune in Aquarius: Pick up the magic wand of your imagination and restart the envisioning process of how you want your life to unfold. You are the master creator, if you will believe that is true. This aspect is all about filling your world with beauty in the form of flowers, clothes, heart-felt conversations, gifting or receiving a special gift.

Venus/North Lunar Node conjunction in Leo: Feel a lilt in your heart, an exuberance in your stride as loving, creative Venus Leo makes an annual conjunction with the North Lunar Node, symbolic of your future self. Feel renewed faith and the confidence of possibilities with this fabulous alignment. Some may be embarking upon a new love journey as well.
Moon/Pluto in Sagittarius: This aspect can be emotionally aggressive (drive carefully today) and driven, so expect to get lots done today. Sagittarius is a sign of optimism and faith in the future, which is why is is associated with visionaries. Be one today.

Sun enters Leo trine Uranus in Aries: This upbeat aspect makes it easier to take a risk or break free of a rut.
Moon in Capricorn square Juno/Ceres: The super-responsible Capricorn Moon makes a day-long square to the asteroid of marriage/key colleagues, Juno, and parenting/nurturing, Ceres. This might mean you are super-busy with many caregiving responsibilities, or need to find a way to ask for some care yourself.
