New SolLunar Cycle in Taurus
“The Many Colors of the Earth” photos by Lyn Dalebout
Rather than orient toward states or nation states, I have always felt more aligned with the natural realms and landscapes of Earth. Earth is my planetary home, the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is my forever heart-home, and for now, the Grand Canyon Ecosystem is my home base for much of the year. During this SolLunar Cycle in foundational sidereal Taurus, you might give some consideration as to where is/are your homes that ground you in supportive ways and bring stability to your life. Are you there now or do you need to move? And what about the home ground of your livelihood and your creative service in the world? Are you in the right place doing the right thing for you? Good questions to ponder while we transit the next four weeks of our life-giving Sun in Taurus.
The extremely volatile Mars square Uranus happens the same day as the New SolLunar Cycle, initiating a heightened level of earth shocks and political shifts and activation in your own personal sphere.
Lastly, the second supportive trine of Jupiter in sidereal Libra to Neptune in Aquarius on May 25 offers a sense of uplifting faith and trust that things are moving in the right direction despite current challenges.

MINI-READINGS: Consider a sidereal mini-reading with me for $44 (the number of living your Mastery on Earth). I will discuss where last year’s historic Total Solar Eclipse is still taking place in your chart, along with other personal transits for 2018. You will get a whole lot of information! Please send me an email if that is of interest to you. Thank you!
I post twice a month, on the New Moon (which includes the two weeks of New Moon and First Quarter Moon) and on the Full Moon (which includes the two weeks of Full Moon and Last Quarter Moon). As you work with and within the natural flow of time and supportive cosmic energies of each unique SolLunar Cycle, life will flow with more ease and grace. My interpretations and predictions are based on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. You can read about my unique way of interpreting astrology at this link: EarthWord SkyWord sidereal readings. Even NASA is onboard now with the sidereal zodiac!

New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Taurus
Here is a list of New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from LunarPlanner:
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, a new theme emerges, a new idea or concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen.”
Tue May 15 – Wed May 16
New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Taurus: Sun and Moon hook up in the last degree of sidereal Aries then the Moon quickly shifts to sidereal Taurus as does the Sun tomorrow. This New SolLunar Cycle aligns with the star of Algol, a storied and challenging place in the zodiac that can express as controlling fears but also offers us a chance to clear out the demons and fears that control us from within, not projecting them outward onto others. By choosing to do this kind of deep-digging healing work on yourself, you naturally make the world around you a less fear-based place and a more loving, compassionate and safe zone for all. This will be a potential theme for many in the next four weeks. In addition, Taurus rules where you choose to build your foundations, how you work with your money and other resources, self-worth and self-care. And of course, Taurus the Bull is stubborn, has great endurance, loves the Earth and participates joyfully in earthly delights. Those are just a few possibilities budding and bursting forth with this dynamic New Moon/New Sun.
Mars in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries: Today’s square marks the first time combative Mars will make a shock-filled square to break-free, volatile Uranus. Pay attention to the events of today and tomorrow as potential clues as to how this entire transit might manifest in your life (happening again on August 1, then the final square on September 18). With Mars transiting the sidereal Earth sign of Capricorn, and Uranus in Fire sign Aries, this planetary pairing is linked to sudden earth catastrophes like earthquakes, volcanoes and forest fires. We can expect continuing shocks about the latest public person caught red-handed in exposes and power plays (and maybe that’s happening around you in your personal life)! To have this aspect happen the same day as our New SolLunar Cycle strongly influences how the next four weeks are going to play out, pushing some out of the comfort zone that Taurus prefers to inhabit.
Juno in Pisces square Saturn in Sagittarius: This is another tense aspect that greets us with the today’s New Moon. Juno in Pisces seeks merging and harmony, sometimes to the point of denial, but the decisive square to serious Saturn helps everyone take a realistic look about what’s really going on in key relationships. It helps you decide who you enjoy being around and to create space and time for those relationships in your life.
Wed May 16
Moon in Taurus square Neptune in Aquarius sextile Ceres in Cancer: Reread yesterday’s forecast as all those heavy-duty aspects are still at work. This aspect is good for reaching out to a friend or family member to talk frankly about any fears about the future, and help each other move beyond those concerns. Rejoice in your power of your imagination (Neptune) and intention to create the force-field of love around you and your communities. Let the wise Universe/Multiverse know what you will and will not participate in.
Thu May 17
Venus/Pallas Athene/Moon conjunct in Gemini: This extremely talkative, excessively mental trio portends exceptional brilliance in creative endeavors today. Gemini can be scattered but is also able to entertain every option without prejudging anything. Brainstorm, be wide open so surprising solutions can appear. It is a day to choose multitasking as the preferred option. Flit from activity to activity, person to person, like a butterfly or bee, spreading joy and delight.
Fri May 18
Mercury in Aries square Lunar Nodes: Mercury rules the tone of our mental health as well as our ability to make decisions. Aries is spontaneous, courageous, willing to leap into the unknown with little hesitation. This catalyzing square to the Lunar Nodes means you can potentially move out of an old mind-set to a new one. What do you want that to be? How do you want to be?
Moon in Gemini opposite Saturn in Sagittarius square Juno in Pisces: The flexible, curious Moon in Gemini opposes focusing Saturn which help you choose one of many options. Or you might feel controlled by an outside authority figure or key partner (Juno) that seeks to curtail your freedom of thought and choice. There is a potential, too, to give clear voice to deep emotions and old grievances.
Sat May 19
Chiron in Pisces sextile Mars in Capricorn: This is the perfect aspect for community cleanup day. You might feel drawn to find new ways to help others or get involved in causes and actions that make our world a more abundant, nurturing world for all. Book some healing body work or spend reflective time in nature. If one is suffering or feeling vulnerable, support is there for you readily if you are open or asking.
Moon in Cancer sextile Sun in Taurus: If you need help around the home, the right helpers seem to show up. Purchase physical upgrades for your home without having to overthink options. Cook a sumptuous, comforting meal for yourself and others.
Sun May 20
Venus in Gemini quincunx Mars in Capricorn square Chiron in Pisces: You might experience confusion or challenge in relationships or within yourself with this complex aspect, not being able to figure out what will best serve a situation. Work toward living in the moment versus trying to control the moment. Honor each impulse as it arises, be that the need for busyness, for rest, for doing nothing.
Moon/Ceres/North Lunar Node in Cancer square Mercury in Aries: This aspect may manifest as short tempers or impatience with family members or while doing a task. You may need to lay down new rules going forward if recent disruptions created chaos in home.
First Quarter Moon
Here’s a list of the First Quarter Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza ~ www.lunarplanner.com
“The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Now is the time to drop all hesitation and take the steps to move forth on what you were inspired about…it is time to now participate in trust and knowing. Trust in the process. Demonstrate this trust in physical action and you will be supported. This time is stressful or traumatic only if action is ignored. Simply, this phase is a time to work.”
Mon May 21
First Quarter Moon: Moon in Leo square Sun in Taurus: Taurus likes to stick to a routine and Leo likes to play and break free of routines. This square could make it hard to return to work or school today but can also help you find ways to make your work environment more fun and enjoyable for yourself and others. Be a clown. Treat you colleagues to something nice. Find a way to keep a light heart even in the midst of your chores and daily routines.
Tue May 22
Mercury in Aries opposite Jupiter in sidereal Libra: Essential communications and messages that involve justice, fairness, lawsuits, civility are part of this transit. Important things may need to be said in relationships and this aspect is bold and gives you the courage to speak up.
Mercury in Aries sextile Neptune in Aquarius: This aspect can be highly imaginative and creative, as your mind teams up with Neptune’s blue mystery. Make time for a little day-dreaming today and gain big rewards in terms of clarity, intuition or breakthroughs involving a current project.
Moon in Leo opposite Neptune in Aquarius: The monthly Leo Moon brings out your child-like nature that knows the value of playing, celebrating, dancing, being spontaneous. The opposition to Imagination-Central, Neptune, amplifies those impulses and increases the chances for creative breakthroughs on projects, in relationships.
Wed May 23
Grand Trine in Earth signs: Sun in Taurus/Mars in Capricorn/Moon in Virgo: Feel a steady stream of energy and endurance in any task today with this grand trine in the productive, results-oriented, project-completing Earth signs. Lend a helping hand to others, spend longer hours in the garden, express gratitude about your financial reality while also discovering ways to create more stability. Good news can arrive about an offer, a project, or a financial concern.
Thu May 24
Grand Square in Mutable signs: Moon in Virgo/Venus in Gemini/Saturn in Sagittarius/Juno in Pisces: The four signs involved in today’s manifesting square are called ‘mutable’ astrological signs. This means it’s time to grow, evolve, shift, change. No more staying stuck or trying to stay the same. Squares mean a decision needs to consciously be made, or it might be made for you by external parties. This may involve your own self-work or concerns in your relationships. It’s also a great day to educate yourself about options, experiment with a new methodology or modality.
Fri May 25
Jupiter in Libra trine Neptune in Aquarius: This marks the second of three auspicious meetings of optimistic, truth-telling Jupiter to imaginative, compassionate, creative Neptune. This supportive, justice-seeking larger star-weather aspect is bathing Earth at an important time in our history when so much is being uncovered and revealed. Use this extremely beneficent energy in your personal life to wise advantage by keeping your thoughts and intentions clear, positive, and full of gratitude. You may finally understand, at a whole new level, your role and responsibility in creating the life you choose. The final time these two will align in a trine will be August 19, almost a year to the day since our historic, life shifting Total Solar Eclipse of August 21, 2017 . How far have you moved on since that sacred day last year? Celebrate your hard work and the courage it took to move forward.
Mercury in Aries trine Pluto in Sagittarius: This aspect is like the ‘mind on fire’ with inspiration, new ideas, declarative insights: THIS IS HOW I SEE IT. THIS IS HOW IT WILL BE. This trine lends endurance to mental activities today. Take your intellectual meetings to the trail today, walk and discuss vigorously, using the vitality of this aspect to it’s best advantage.
Moon in Virgo square Pluto in Sagittarius: Critical thinking or criticizing others is possible with this aspect.
Sat May 26
Venus in Gemini opposite Saturn in Sagittarius: When Venus and Saturn team up in any combo, discussions around love, money, values and being valued can take on a more serious tone or take a more committed turn. Take a road trip (Gemini/Sagittarius) and have some fun while diving deeper into getting to know someone. This aspect assists writers and artists to be more disciplined in their craft and is perfect for meeting a deadline.
Moon in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries: Uranus often shows up as the need to be spontaneous, make a sudden change so follow your intuition if plans suddenly need to change. It’s good for trying new activities or break free of the usual routine.
Sun May 27
Moon/Jupiter conjunction in Libra trine Neptune in Aquarius: This is a sublime planetary aspect. Spend exuberant time with others, engaged in uplifting, never-ending conversations. Co-inspire each another or broadcast uplifting intentions to our planetary Field with the exponential power of shared focus in community.
Mon May 28
Sun in Taurus quincunx Saturn in Sagittarius: Taurus is often security-oriented and grounded while Sagittarius is risk-taking and far-seeing. Today’s aspect is about grounding your vision or getting unstuck from being too stuck by choosing to see things from a more expansive viewpoint. The quincunx helps us make subtle adjustments that will shift everything in a better direction.
Moon in Scorpio opposite Mercury in Taurus: Practical-minded Mercury in Taurus is opposed to deep-feeling and skeptical Moon in Scorpio, creating either challenging or alluring conversations. Pay attention to the health of your financial life. Happy Full Moon tomorrow!
