Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Cancer/Capricorn
“Teton Sanctuary” photograph by Julia Rose Heemstra
In keeping with last week’s Capricorn photo theme of ‘Earth is Church’, I am grateful to post this winter image by my beloved friend, Julia Heemstra, one of the athletic high priestesses of the Grand Tetons and Wind River Mountains. During this month of interior winter (in the Northern Hemisphere) when we are dreaming a new dream, it’s good to visit your holy places often, as sacred pilgrimages that offer up inspiration and blessings.
I just returned from my morning ceremony with today’s Total Lunar Eclipse. I wanted to experience this dynamic portal of shift before posting today. Here’s a mysterious photo, post-Totality, in the breaking desert dawn:
Perhaps it seems I often bring warning, unsettling news of the next celestial intensity coming your way. It can be exhausting to know, I know! Hopefully my posts also provide a broader context in understanding the expansive, evolutionary influences affecting our Earth, pressuring the masses to awaken at an accelerated rate. This particular Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, taking place in sidereal Cancer/Capricorn is strongly linked to our past and future chosen affiliations. Many are awakening from the slumber of ancient, tribal hatred, linked to negative Cancer. Many are at last seeing how the imbalance of power that exists at every level of society is creating great harm and suffering to many, linked to the over-reaching of Capricorn. Increasing numbers of people are awakening to the animal cruelty, environmental degradation, social injustice and diseases that are created by the commercial dairy, meat, and fish industries (a personal and educational focus for me as a vegan), all associations of Ceres, also tied to this Lunar Eclipse. During this entire SolLunar Cycle of sidereal Capricorn, the motivation and dedication to change or make a difference is strong and you can literally move mountains with your intention, focus, and determination. We are all being called to live in greater integrity (the gift of the Total Solar Eclipse of August 21, 2017 ) by making sure our values are demonstrated by our actions.

WELCOME THE NEW YEAR MINI-READINGS: Due to the demand for my recent Total Solar Eclipse mini-readings for $44 (a number associated with living your Mastery on Earth), I will continue to offer this shorter reading in which I discuss where the historic Total Solar Eclipse is taking place in your chart, along with other personal transits for 2018. You get a whole lot of information! Please send me an email if that is of interest to you. Thank you!
I post twice a month, on the New Moon (which includes the two weeks of New Moon and First Quarter Moon) and on the Full Moon (which includes the two weeks of Full Moon and Last Quarter Moon). As you work with and within the natural flow of time and supportive cosmic energies of each unique SolLunar Cycle, life will flow with more ease and grace. My interpretations and predictions are based on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. Full Moon in sidereal Cancer/Capricorn
“Towering Temple” photograph by Lyn Dalebout
Here is a brief synopsis of the Full Moon characteristics that hold true for every Full Moon from my from my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at Lunar Planner.
“The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration. The day just after the Full Moon is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, of what the activities of the first half of the lunar cycle, culminating into the enthusiasm of the Full Moon, are really about. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”

Full Moon Eclipse in sidereal Cancer/Capricorn ~ Moon/Ceres in Cancer opposite Sun in Capricorn: What makes a Full Moon a Lunar Eclipse? It’s because both Sun and Moon are lined up with the South and North Lunar Nodes, astrological points that symbolize past focuses and future directions. Eclipses provide a cosmic portal to be energetically released from a past life, and, with choice and grace, enter a new life cycle. Though some energies and humans are working hard to take away our ability to choose, it’s crucial to remember Earth is a planet of Free Will, always and forever. As citizens of this holy planet, claim that birthright. Own your power, the essence of Capricorn.
In today’s extraordinary alignment, it’s of cosmic importance that the Cancer Moon, the astrological sign of history, where we came from, is aligned with the North Node, the place of our future. And the Sun in Capricorn, symbolic of our authority and what knowledge we each bring to the table, is linked to the South Lunar Node, possibly bringing back old skills and desires into our present day creations. Equally important is that the Moon is conjunct Ceres in Cancer, a dwarf planet which governs our caregiving roles, the environment, who and how you want to help others, what causes you wish to embody and support. This alignment might bring an old friend or colleague back into your life and you may be reforming family relationships more in alignment with who you have become. This extraordinary event isn’t just a one day wonder, but will manifest in a cascading series of events in your personal life and in our collective experience over the coming months. Take time to listen to your own inner wisdom so you will fully own your power and mastery going forward. These demanding times demand bold actions. No more excuses, that’s what my Guides told me.
Thu February 1
Moon in Leo square Mars in Scorpio: This dynamic pairing triggers reactivity and exposes secrets brought out by yesterday’s triggering Lunar Eclipse. A Leo Moon is direct and heart-based in its expression or full of ego and false bluster. The tense square to deep-delving Mars in Scorpio however keeps a ‘poker-face’ so as not to show what is really going beneath the surface. Battles of the will or challenging standoffs are possible.
Fri February 2
Imbolc/Groundhog Day: Ah, Imbolc is here! Today marks the the point where the Sun is located halfway between its Winter Solstice turnaround and the upcoming Spring Equinox crossing. This day offers insights about those first seeds of spring sprouting in your soul, offering clues where life might be leading you in 2018. Messages abound and come in all kinds of ways if you are paying attention.
Moon in Leo opposite Neptune in Aquarius: How lovely to have this celestial influence concurrent with Imbolc. The ‘let’s play’ Leo Moon makes a amplifying opposition to imaginative, dream-bigger, Neptune in community-based, friendship Aquarius. Do something fun and creative with friends or playmates that nurtures your inner child and creative self.
Sat February 3
Sun/South Lunar Node conjunction in Capricorn: Keep in mind the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is still unfolding with great consequence and influence in our world. This annual alignment brings completions or a grand finale in regards to institutions, professional environments, our elders, all areas governed by Capricorn. As new beginnings always accompany endings, today also brings a clarity of focus, will and determination to move forward.
Venus/Juno conjunction in Capricorn square Jupiter in Libra: This love portal is large, expansive, exciting as it calls forth new partnerships that are aligned with our heart’s desires, intentions, goals. For some, the square to Jupiter in Libra forms a tension between which alliance you want to pursue. A decision is at hand.
Mercury in Capricorn sextile Mars in Scorpio: This fine aspect supports mental focus, clarity, research, plowing through tasks with your mighty mind.
Sun February 4
Moon in Virgo trine Mercury/Sun in Capricorn: This productive, work focused aspect helps bring organization and order to your home/office. It is great for learning a new skill or helping to teach others.

Last Quarter Moon
“Shadow and Light” photograph by Lyn Dalebout
Here is a description of the qualities of the Last Quarter Moon phase compliments of my friend and sidereal colleague, Nick Anthony Fiorenza at Lunar Planner:
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.”
Wed February 7
Last Quarter Moon: Moon/Jupiter in Libra square Sun in Capricorn: This turning point of completion and looking ahead involves astrological signs linked to our relationships and responsibilities in those relationships. Decisions need to be made, choices are being presented. In addition, when Moon/Jupiter make their monthly rendezvous, emotions are greatly amplified, with some people becoming maniac or creating an out-of-proportion, exaggerated response to a situation. This aspect is also exuberant and joyful, and when they line up in Libra, people tend to want to shower their beloveds with compliments and abundant gifts.
Thu February 8
Moon/Mars conjunction in Scorpio: This hard-driving aspect gets stronger as the day progresses and can lead to a super passionate evening or bring out possessiveness and the perceived need to control a situation. Scorpio digs out deeply hidden secrets so watch the headlines for a new wave of truth-seeking, truth-telling on our national stage.
Fri February 9
Mercury/South Lunar Node conjunction in Capricorn: As Mercury, the communicator, crosses the South Lunar Node (revelations about the past), important messages emerge, possibly delivered in shocking Trickster style. Documents are handed over, business deals are completed, contracts signed.
Sat February 10
Sun in Capricorn square Jupiter in Libra: Once a year, the Sun makes a waxing, tense, first quarter square to expansive, confident Jupiter. This aspect can call up doubts about current creations, but if you work through fear, this aspect will boost your opportunity for success by adopting a more positive attitude. Start with the attitude of gratitude, giving thanks for current blessings, then give thanks for what is still to come, as if it has already happened, a good way to use the creative blessing this aspect brings.
Mars in Scorpio trine Ceres in Cancer: The supportive nature of this aspect might show up as someone helping you with a physical task, positive financial news, or spark an urgency to care-give someone near and dear to you. There’s a fierce, protective Mother Bear quality to this aspect.
Moon in Sagittarius sextile Venus in Aquarius: This sunny aspect brings uplifting support from another. A great day for a walk with a friend to share and make plans for future events, while also celebrating the wonder of how perfectly things are unfolding now.
Sun February 11
Moon/Saturn conjunction in Sagittarius: When the emotional Moon is harnessed to serious, authoritative, focused Saturn, you might want to break free of someone’s control over you, confronting them with your emotional truth. No bullying allowed! This aspect supports great athletic achievement, or, conversely, halts the body via an injury, forcing rest and self-reflection.
Mon February 12
Moon/Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius: If you have been ignoring or hiding from an uncomfortable awareness or feeling, Pluto’s purging energy can bring it to the surface for release. Politeness goes by the wayside with the laser-like directness of this pairing. One can have super-human energy on a day like today, charging through activities with an endurance that astounds.
Tue February 13
Sun enters sidereal Aquarius: Today marks our illuminating Sun’s entrance into futuristic, avant-garde, community-minded, eccentric Aquarius. Today, it is closely aligned with Juno, the asteroid that symbolizes our core relationships. The next SolLunar Cycle (beginning on February 15) will be about new partnerships coming our way that are futuristic, community-minded, authentic. Today might set the stage in some way for the arrival of those new alliances.
Vesta in Scorpio square Neptune in Aquarius: This can bring up financial discussions or sorting through the details of the budget for a shared project. Tensions can arise between the need for security or the desire for more freedom within relationships.
Wed February 14
Sun/Juno conjunction in Aquarius: For you celebrants of Love Day, how cosmic is this?! The Sun aligns exactly with Juno, the asteroid of marriage, partnerships, and deep soul friendships. This alignment can bring surprising reconnections with an old friend or push you to expand your options in how you are desiring to partner with others. Be willing to experiment and try a new flavor.
Moon/South Lunar Node conjunction in Capricorn: To have this pairing happen on the last day of a completing SolLunar Cycle is auspicious and timely. The South Lunar Node symbolizes that which is passing away, and the Moon is often tied to old memories, habits, identities. We have lost many elders (Capricorn) in recent months, and today is a day to further honor their memory or await a message from their Spirit Selves.
Blessed New Moon tomorrow~
