This week is full of tidal turnings in our planetary field. Mercury returns to forward momentum, while both Saturn and Mars enter months of retrogradation. And of course the New Moon! A momentous week lies ahead.
On ongoing conjunction continues between Mars ~ confrontation, the need to take action ~ Vesta ~ focus and dedication ~ Ceres ~ astrological ruler of the environment, food issues, women and children ~ and the North Node ~ choosing a new destiny for planet Earth. Witness current eruptions in Ukraine, Venezuela, and the numerous environmental catastrophes happening in our own beloved United States of America. Catastrophe can mean a ‘sudden turning.’ May we all heed the call for rapid unprecedented change in healthier, more democratic directions. That is Earth’s loving directive. Get on board. Don’t be left behind because of your fears.

The highly creative, dreamy Sun/Neptune conjunction continues in influence as you absorb the awakenings from last weekend. Today two supportive sextiles grace our planetary field. Venus ~ guardian of your heart and true values ~ sextiles Saturn ~ ready to make a commitment. Self love, radical self-acceptance are at the core to this transit and this completing lunar cycle. The Moon makes a last positive sextile in regards to the Sun. Your inner needs and outer goals align in harmony and unity.

At our collective planetary level, today’s Jupiter/Uranus square launches the next wave of events that will lead to who-knows-what-kind of climax in late April 2014. We are all awash in these dynamic currents showering the Earth, and whether you watch the news or not, you are experiencing the same urgent need to shift and thus reinvent culture. The whole point of the revolutionary square of Pluto/Uranus/Jupiter/Mars is to reinvent culture. Not in a regressive way, but in a progressive way. In addition, today’s early morning trigger of Moon to this square ignites greater leaps of risk and certainly increases volatility to be used in all kinds of ways.

The serious and at times controlling Capricorn Moon makes a tense square to Mars in Libra. This aspect may manifest as some kind of stand off, yet with a hope for making peace in both your personal world and on the global stage. Venus moves to sidereal Capricorn for the coming weeks. Your tastes, values, desires become more directed, organized and desirous of perfection on some level. Go for the gold, your gold, that which has meaning, heart, exhilaration for you.

With today’s Moon/Mercury conjunction in sidereal Capricorn, deals are being struck, serious conversations are occurring, while some of you are focused on organizing closets, cupboards, desks. Order is trying to enter your life, so heed the call. Mercury is standing still, about to head back into forward motion tomorrow. Always a holy moment. What you discovered you have to or want to shift in the past three weeks, can now shift.

May you be able to find moments to celebrate and relax today as Mercury goes direct and we complete the last lunar cycle. We have this momentary portal of stillness and celebration. It’s Freeday/Friday! Enjoy yourself in whatever manner calls to you.

Okay now we enter new terrain. I hope you took advantage of yesterday’s outbreath of relaxation. Today’s breaking dawn is launched with a New Moon sandwiched between the Sun and Chiron ~ magical reality (yes there is a reality to magic ) and healing our wounds ~ aligned in Aquarius ~ sign of universal compassion, revolution, group endeavors. In counterpoint, Mars, planet of activism and living one’s inner truth, heads into retrograde till May 19 2014. Mars loves pushing forward relentlessly at times, but when Mars heads moves backward from Earth’s perspective every other year, we need to allow ourselves to be more introspective (reflect before you act) and honor the need for more rest. Pursue what I call the inner workout: yoga, qi gong, tai chi, sauntering. Or risk injury. You are forewarned. I will be posting a longer piece soon about this important cycle. Please stay tuned.

Now we enter the second key retrograde cycle this spring as Saturn heads backwards until July 20 2014. Saturn is the teacher of getting real about what’s really possible. But Saturn also pressures you to focus with new found dedication to push through any previous perceived obstacles. What new dream are you dreaming? In the coming months you can muscle through many diversions and distractions so you can truly manifest what is your calling. Saturn is the Inner Teacher. May you heed that oracle of your inner wisdom with new practices, rituals, activities that support your excellence and one-of-a-kindness. Also today, Mars and Venus square off. This can feel like a stand off between your feminine/masculine desires, male or female friends, or an inner conflict between a desire for harmony while also an urgent need to stand your ground.
