“The Ancient Ones Series” photograph by Tristan Greszko
Overview
Today is IMBOLC celebrated this year on February 1. It marks the halfway point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere of our sacred Earth. It is one of my most favorite days of the year and this year feels particularly important given we have just completed the darker dark months of November, December, January.
I am a bit late in posting this due to attuning to the momentous nature of this SolLunar Cycle, already starting off with shocks that show up in the celestial events, as well as attending to my personal clearings that are part of the ongoing Mars retrograde. Before I discuss this New Moon in astronomical Capricorn, I want to share three things that happened for me in January, a month of rapid intensification on all levels.
First, I had one of my cosmic dreams at the start of the month. In the dream as I picked up my mobile phone it started to disassemble and shatter in my hands. I tried to ‘keep it together’ holding the semi-connected pieces hanging by metallic threads and shards hoping I could keep using it. As it continued to fall apart it looked like a colorful kaleidoscope of many images of various timelines with no order to the photos, no discernible patterns, a cacophony of images and no way to communicate with others. I was very disturbed when I woke up and thinking about it now brings back some anxiety. As I journaled the dream, I quickly realized it was exact imagery for what was about to happen in our world. The question that came from the dream is how will I/we prepare for what was to come and how do I/we stay in the heart and connected with community?
Second, I launched an Astrology Study Pod for our community here in the Tetons of Wyoming with the inspiration and support of Brittany Belisle, the visionary owner of Home Yoga, a joyful sanctuary of community classes and events. As old structures and support systems dismantle we simply need to create new ones by reaching out to others, gather, organize, share our skills and talents to keep us all in a more elevated mood and remember our power as We the People.
Third, a surprising delight, I finally watched the spirited series, TED LASSO, who many watched during the years of viral shutdown. These uplifting, humorous, poignant stories cover the diversity of our rainbow tribe of humanity. It is Aquarian storytelling at its best with wildly unique characters, learning the lessons of teamwork, individual talent, healthy ego, compassion for all and true leadership. This series is an antidote and balm amidst our current turbulence and uncertainty. I think I will be rewatching it in February. I don’t know about you but everyone I know and relate to are loving and kind humans, working on themselves and making the world a better place for all. That’s my reality and I am sticking to it.
Our New SolLunar Cycle aligns in ambitious, productive Capricorn and is conjunct the Dolphin Star, Sualocin. Sualocin’s role is to ensure life, liberty, security, safety for all in the pursuit of our happiness. Dolphins live and travel in pods. The energy of Dolphin inspires us to improve our communication skills by listening with empathy, expressing ourselves with love and understanding. Dolphins literally guide people home when they are lost at sea. In the dance of their synchronized movements, Dolphin symbolizes unity and cooperation. May we connect with our pods in new ways in 2025.
This New Moon Cycle and the next one in March are in close proximity to the dwarf planet Ceres. Ceres brings caring and compassion especially relating to women, children, animals, food supplies and issues, caregivers. Ceres also rules our home situations so changes in that arena may occur. She carries the energy of blessed Mother Earth/Gaia who continues to teach us how to be better stewards for Earth, our only home.
Last, this month we are being catapulted by three major planets turning direct: Uranus on January 30, Jupiter on February 4, and Mars on February 23. More on those below. May we breathe deeply, drink more water, move with focus and strength and gather together in joy and creativity.
Thank you my friend, Tristan Greszko, for the use of your extraordinary night photographs of the Ancient Ones. Check out all of Tristan’s utterly unique talents here.
NOTE: When reading my daily entries, remember that the influence of each aspect is like a wave — it crescendos a day or two, sometimes a week, before it happens, crests on the day it is exact, then dissipates over the following days. People experience the transits of planets at different times depending on their sensitivity and life events.
Sidereal Astrology Mentoring and Readings
MY POSTS: My posts are based on the true astronomical alignments of the planets with the constellations, also referred to as the sidereal zodiac. This zodiac is energetically in synch with the forces of the Universe beaming down on us and thus mirrors extraordinary accuracy in understanding how transits are working with us. My mentor and colleague, Nick Anthony Fiorenza—now in spirit—wrote his seminal book, Introduction to Astronomical Astrology which I can now share for free if you are interested in learning from a master teacher
I use the phases of the Moon as the scaffold for my posts because the Moon functions like an energetic portal mediating between the heavens and our wondrous Earth. My entries are based on the aspects occurring each week as they crescendo, crest and dissipate over the course of their influence. As you work with and within the natural flow of time and the supportive cosmic energies that each unique SolLunar Cycle brings, life can flow with more ease, grace and understanding.
MY SERVICES: I delight in mentoring students — individually, with families or groups, via workshops and conferences — who want to learn more about how to use sidereal astrology as a helpful tool for insight, evolution, creativity and well-being. I offer speaking engagements for your gatherings or groups to understand big picture astrology events affecting us all. Consider booking a reading with me, either a Full Natal Map, mini-readings for $44 or $88 or my other offerings like the Relationship Map, Child or AdolEssence Map for your children or the Business Map which helps your team succeed and thrive in. I offer SHE Sessions: Self Help Energywork in which I teach you tools to create greater health and balance for yourself. My poetry book, Out of the Flames/Blue Bison Press, is available on my website. Thank you!
