Overview
Our New SolLunar Cycle takes place in sidereal Aries, is also a solar eclipse, and might possibly, maybe, hopefully be some version of a resurrection given the creative square of the Sun, Moon, focused Vesta, optimistic Jupiter to Pluto, the planet of rebirth. Pluto brings its composting energy and catalytic releases at the beginning of a process but is also symbolized as the mythical Phoenix rising more glorious from the ashes of its former life at the end of a process. With this New Moon, we are collectively completing the global deconstruction period of 2020-2022, astrologically ruled by Pluto, and thus we can now experience the rise of the Phoenix uniquely within ourselves carrying us forward, reborn, and ready to feel more focused and energized. The tense aspect of the New Moon in square to Pluto doesn’t mean just chill and go with the flow, waiting around for things to happen, but instead pushes us to be motivated to make conscious decisions, take concrete actions that require effort, using our power wisely.
This New Moon is also a solar eclipse, not visible here in North America but felt nonetheless. Solar eclipses, briefly explained, occur when the Sun, Moon and one of the Lunar Nodes align. This eclipse aligns with the North Node which means it is launching us into our future selves and will strongly help us harmonize, integrate and step into our new life phases over the next six months. The fact this solar eclipse takes place in sidereal Aries, a sign of pioneering a new course of action, courage, independence, enlightenment, amplifies the fiery nature of this SolLunar Cycle, to boldly go where you have not gone before — thank you Star Trek. Epiphanies will be especially strong if you are listening to your intuition with your inner ears. Dramatically changing patterns, routines and relationships are part of this sky gift as well.
There are other main attractions this month which you can read about in my full post. Jupiter enters sidereal Aries on April 25 2023 – May 3 2024 — I’m very happy about that! Jupiter makes a one-time historically significant square to Pluto on May 17. Mercury in Aries turns retrograde the day after this New Moon on Fri April 21 – Thu May 14 and Pluto turns retrograde from Mon May 1 – October 10. Onward we move, dance, skip, engaged with the energy of this dynamic New Moon!

Sidereal Astrology Mentoring and Readings
My posts are based on the true astronomical alignments of the planets with the constellations, also referred to as the sidereal zodiac. I use the phases of the Moon as the scaffold for my posts because the Moon functions like an energetic portal mediating between the heavens and our wondrous Earth. My entries are based on the aspects occurring each week as they crescendo, crest and dissipate over the course of their influence. As you work with and within the natural flow of time and the supportive cosmic energies that each unique SolLunar Cycle brings, life can flow with more ease, grace and understanding.
I delight in mentoring students—individually, with families or groups, and via workshops and conferences—who want to learn more about how to use sidereal astrology as a helpful tool for insight and awakening. Consider booking a mini-reading with me for $44 or $88, the numbers of living your Mastery on Earth. In these short readings, I discuss key personal transits that are happening for you in 2022 and beyond. Send me an email if you are interested in those options, or a full Natal Map, Update, Relationship Map, Young Adult or Child’s Map. Thank you!

New SolLunar Cycle Solar Eclipse in sidereal Aries: Wed April 19 10:12 pm MT
Our New SolLunar Cycle takes place in sidereal Aries, is also a solar eclipse, and might possibly, maybe, hopefully be some version of a resurrection given the creative square of the Sun, Moon, focused Vesta, optimistic Jupiter to Pluto, the planet of rebirth. Pluto brings its composting energy and catalytic releases at the beginning of a process but is also symbolized as the mythical Phoenix rising more glorious from the ashes of its former life at the end of a process.
Mercury in Aries turns retrograde: Fri April 21 – Sun May 14
Now we enter the second Mercury retrograde period of 2023 which takes place entirely during this current SolLunar Cycle, which is not always the case. This bodes well for completing lingering details surrounding life events that go back even to previous years. This might have to do with endings or beginnings in personal or professional relationships, business dealings, making a move. Mercury in sidereal Aries will also be aligned with the North Node of our future destiny when it turns direct on Sun May 14, bringing dynamic energy, possibilities and opportunities coming your way. I’ve been so focused on other aspects happening I forgot to alert you to the shadow phase — the full range of time this transit is working with us — which began the first week of April and completes the last day of May.

Jupiter enters sidereal Aries: Tue April 25 2023 – May 3 2024
I’ve been awaiting this event all winter as Jupiter was completing its 2022 transit through sidereal Pisces bringing deep emotions, exhaustion, at times feeling overwhelmed and unmotivated. With this golden shift, fire takes the lead over water which we can experience as a fresh, vital energy filling our cells, restoring vitality and bringing more joy and enthusiasm to activities. This year-long transit also brings extraordinary creativity, courage and innovation to individuals to transform society as they wish it to be. The retrograde period for Jupiter will begin September 4 – December 30 which can be a time to more fully integrate the new directions you set in motion this spring and summer.

Pluto in Capricorn turns retrograde: Mon May 1 – Tue October 10
Tiny but mighty Pluto is the first of the outer planets to turn retrograde this year with Neptune and Uranus to follow suit later this summer. Pluto always goes to the depths of things and governs collective healing of past injustices, global transformations in all institutions. This is an especially challenging and radical time for the United States of America as we are experiencing the our first Pluto return — 2021-2024 — since we were born as a Nation. Pluto aids us as individuals to claim our power and know we are co-creators with the matrix of Creation versus being victims or mere spectators of life. Maybe it is time you take back your power in some way? Pay attention around this turning point of May 1 to the health of your own body/mind/spirit, perhaps initiating new habits or intentions. During this five-month cycle, think about clearing any clutter, discarding things you no longer need or giving things away to others in need.
