“Macrocosmic Merkabah Prism” drawing by Bekah Caetano
NOTE: This is a more abbreviated post as I honor my version of spring break.
I begin with a quick recap of the recent months regarding the exceptionally challenging Mars retrograde, now complete as of February 23. Because that transit accompanied us through the darker months of November/December/January, we were given opportunities to release and transfomr many aspects of our past, especially regarding family relationships. Globally it manifested as historic rifts and shifts in national and tribal relationships. From February through April as the Mars shadow period completes, it is a good time to contemplate new possibilities and modalities of being—how do you want to walk in this world? I am reminded of the words Grizzly Matriarch 399 gave me the day after her passing last September: Claim your gifts and share them further and farther.
As I lean into this New SolLunar Cycle in astronomical Aquarius, aware that both Venus and Mercury are entering their reflective retrogrades in inner-listening Pisces, it can be a month to get our BEARINGS, which has various meanings:
The manner in which one behaves or comports oneself
To succeed in becoming familiar with a new situation
A person’s way of standing or moving
Determining one’s position
As you spend time finding your balance in this chaotic time of change, deciding how you will comport yourself for your well-being and as an example to others, here is a simple contemplative exercise that will help you find your bearings and ground in your core and light.
Sit or stand and from wherever you are, face the direction of your original birth home. Take a couple deep I AM breaths. On the inbreath say I and on the outbreath say AM. Next repeat slowly with the inbreath/outbreath I AM HOME at least three times or as long as it feels right. This simple practice creates calm and centeredness throughout your entire being. Enjoy!
On a positive note this month, the historic sextile of Saturn in Aquarius to Uranus in Aries is forming. It is exact on April 4 and completes in January 2026. This aspect is a call to action for all of us and can bring rapid, revolutionary, surprising shifts. I’ll write more on this for the next Cycle. And Eclipse season begins! Time to release the past and embrace the future. The Full Moon on March 14 will be a Total Lunar Eclipse, visible in all of North America, and the New Moon of March 29 will be a Partial Solar Eclipse.
Blessed Spring Equinox to all on March 20 at 3:01 am MT.
Thank you, dear friend, Bekah Caetano, for the gift of your art for this month of Aquarius, the sign of unique and original artistry, reflected beautifully in your powerful, shamanic art.
NOTE: When reading my daily entries, remember that the influence of each aspect is like a wave—it crescendos a day or two, sometimes a week, before it happens, crests on the day it is exact, then dissipates over the following days. People experience the transits of planets at different times depending on their sensitivity and life events.
Sidereal Astrology Mentoring and Readings
MY POSTS: My posts are based on the true astronomical alignments of the planets with the constellations, also referred to as the sidereal zodiac. This zodiac is energetically in synch with the forces of the Universe beaming down on us and thus mirrors extraordinary accuracy in understanding how transits are working with us. My mentor and colleague, Nick Anthony Fiorenza—now in spirit—wrote his seminal book, Introduction to Astronomical Astrology which I can now share for free if you are interested in learning from a master teacher
I use the phases of the Moon as the scaffold for my posts because the Moon functions like an energetic portal mediating between the heavens and our wondrous Earth. My entries are based on the aspects occurring each week as they crescendo, crest and dissipate over the course of their influence. As you work with and within the natural flow of time and the supportive cosmic energies that each unique SolLunar Cycle brings, life can flow with more ease, grace and understanding.
MY SERVICES: I delight in mentoring students — individually, with families or groups, via workshops and conferences — who want to learn more about how to use sidereal astrology as a helpful tool for insight, evolution, creativity and well-being. I offer speaking engagements for your gatherings or groups to understand big picture astrology events affecting us all. Consider booking a reading with me, either a Full Natal Map, mini-readings for $44 or $88 or my other offerings like the Relationship Map, Child or AdolEssence Map for your children or the Business Map which helps your team succeed and thrive in. I offer SHE Sessions: Self Help Energywork in which I teach you tools to create greater health and balance for yourself. My poetry book, Out of the Flames/Blue Bison Press, is available on my website. Thank you!

New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Aquarius
At the New Moon, you are sprouting like a seed with new creative inspiration. Receive your unique insights by sitting in meditation or just be open to new possibilities arising within you from the sea of infinite creation.
New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Aquarius: Sun/Moon in Aquarius square Jupiter in Taurus: Thu February 27 5:44 pm MT
The creative and futuristic energy of Aquarius governs this SolLunar Cycle as both Sun—outer action—and Moon—inner conviction—align with the stars of Skat/Urn. These stars symbolize vessels—including us as vessels for good—that hold the waters of life and our shared commitment to the heart of humanity, ensuring all are cared for. As this New Moon makes an action-oriented square to expansive Jupiter in productive Taurus, you may feel inspired to take concrete next steps setting in motion projects and plans. However, as I wrote above both, Venus and Mercury enter retrogrades in reflective Pisces, making it a good month to go slowly and gain your BEARINGS, which has various meanings:
The manner in which one behaves or comports oneself
To succeed in becoming familiar with a new situation
A person’s way of standing or moving
Determining one’s position
As you make time for inner listening and meditating, you will strengthen your relationship to your wisdom vein and heart-line knowing—your intuition. Then as you enter April and beyond, you will feel confident that what you are creating is motivated by your heart’s true desires.
Venus in Pisces turns retrograde: Sat March 1 – Sat April 12
Venus turns retrograde every eighteen months. With this transit she is leaving her Eventing Star phase and will reemerge as the Morning Star in April, symbolizing and supporting new beginnings. Because Venus is transiting sidereal Pisces, our creative and spiritual interests can flourish if we make time for attuning to our inner wise core. If you are drawn to, prioritize slowing down as you move through your days, perhaps curbing the desire to be on-line to spend more time in nature or with others, in person. This is an excellent month to cultivate deeper stillness to counter-balance the busyness of daily living. Thank you for this pause, beloved Venus.
Mercury/Neptune conjunction in Pisces: Sun March 2
This melds our active mind with nebulous, dreamy, creative Neptune. It brings compassion to our way of thinking. Ideas float in but can quickly vanish so write down your inspiration in the moment.

Full Moon/Total Lunar Eclipse in sidereal Leo/Aquarius: Moon/South Node in Leo opposite Sun/NorthNode in Aquarius sextile Uranus in Aries: Fri March 14 12:54 am MT
This is the first Eclipse of 2025 and wow does it pack a punch! As it spans the cusp of sidereal Leo/Aquarius and Virgo/Pisces, this Total Lunar Eclipse symbolizes how humanity is moving beyond the suffering of the Age of Pisces while planting seeds for the coming joyful, compassionate Age of Aquarius—not here yet from the galactic perspective. But we are are the ones who are calling it in and laying the groundwork for the eventual formal beginning of the Aquarian Age. Quite the responsibility!
Eclipses form when both the Sun and Moon align with the Lunar Nodes. This one is particularly powerful as both Moon/South Node—energies that help us release the past—align exactly AND both Sun/North Node—energies that push us to step into the future—align in a conjunction, making this is an extraordinary portal to shift gears. May you find a way to use this supportive moment to align/realign you on your life path. This Eclipse is celebratory and full of surprises given the influence of Uranus so gather with others if you feel inspired to do so.
Mercury in Pisces turns retrograde: Fri March 14 – Sat March 15
During this Mercury retrograde period, pay attention to the brilliance of your inner world where creative urges and ideas are born arising from your inner clarity, a never-ending well of wisdom if you will listen. Breakdowns or repairs linked to water may occur.
