My wild night dreams are back after a few months respite in which I asked the great Mystery, ‘please, no more nights shifts for a while’. I needed deeper sleep for my own restoration in this transformative year of great uncertainty. I am feeling more rested, ready for my next level attuning and creation.
Most nights, I sit outside under the stars for a while as I am thankful to live in dedicated ‘dark sky’ communities. I am taking full advantage of being in communion with the current Jupiter and Saturn conjunction, only visible every twenty years. Mysterious, wise Pluto hovers between these two brighter eye-orbs of planets like an invisible third eye. Rare Owls drop by to hoot and cry, as do Coyotes, and there are rumors of a young Mountain Lion roaming nearby. This past week, in the dreamtime, I saw the diamond sparkling star, Sirius, turning and opening, like a new portal of information about to flow out from its core, and winks of connection and insight from the sisters of the Pleiades. When you align with the astronomical, sidereal zodiac which links our Solar System energetically to the currents of information coming from the constellations in the greater Universe, you can receive direct knowledge and insights, then embody within your being the gifts you personally receive from the heavenly matrix.
Our newest New SolLunar Cycle begins with the first degree of astronomical Leo and closes out on the 29th degree of Leo. This is a rarity as most Cycles span two astrological signs. This seems important to me and I anticipate with wonder what might unfold.
Leo is wonderfully playful, naturally joyful. It brings forth unabashed creativity children have before they sometimes learn to suppress that wild freedom.
Leo is wonderfully playful, naturally joyful. It brings forth unabashed creativity children have before they sometimes learn to suppress that wild freedom. Use this time to free yourself, to remember your childhood longings, talents, creativity. Leo can also be overly-boastful, ego-maniacal, narcissistic, and exhibitionist so those traits can be amplified in some people during this period.
As the Sun, Moon, and Mercury all meet up in Leo, they are form a very supportive grand trine to Mars—connecting with your passions–and the South Lunar Node—your past. This triangle of enthusiasm indicates that in the next four weeks you can take all the wisdom you have gleaned from the past and link those life lessons and talents to emerging creative goals. Make time to play more now as things can get more serious again in phase three of 2020 which begins with the next SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Virgo.
This Cycle also carries some important Mars-related events. Mars squares Saturn on August 24—not fun but truthful. And mostly importantly Mars turns retrograde on September 9 – November 13. Please read about that major event in the post below. On August 26-27, we are blessed with two grand trines in fire signs, very auspicious. Full Moon in astronomical Aquarius/Leo is on September 1 and our Sun makes its annual opposition to mysterious Neptune on September 11.
Thank you my friend, Victoria Blumberg, for the gift of your exquisite water droplet photographs. Each reminds us of the magic always alive in the natural world which brings soul replenishment and life-sustaining joy and beauty.
Readings and Sidereal Mentoring
My posts are based on the sidereal astronomical alignments. When you align with the astronomical, sidereal zodiac which links our Solar System energetically to the currents of information coming from the constellations in the greater Universe, you can receive direct knowledge and insights, then embody within your being the gifts you personally receive from the heavenly matrix. Life will flow with more ease, grace and understanding.
Thanks for considering a sidereal mini-reading with me for $44 or a longer reading for $88, the numbers of living your Mastery on Earth. In these short readings, I discuss key personal transits that are happening for you in 2020 and beyond. I also offer mentoring of astronomical astrology to individuals or in families/groups/workshops for those who want to learn more about how to use sidereal astrology in their own chart or with their clients. Send me an email if you are interested in those options, or a full Natal Map, Update or Relationship Map. Thank you!

New SolLunar Cycle
Here is a brief synopsis of the New Moon characteristics from my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from his LunarPlanner:
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, a new theme emerges, a new idea or concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation to go within self and listen.”
Tue August 18
New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Leo: Sun/Moon/Mercury in Leo: This Cycle begins with the first degree of astronomical Leo and closes out on the 29th degree of Leo. This is a rarity as most Cycles span two astrological signs. This seems important to me and I can’t wait to see what unfolds. Both Sun and Moon align with Mercury at the beginning of this New Moon. That means the power of our minds, our creative thought matrix, and communications of every kind will be emphasized even exaggerated in the coming four weeks.
Leo is wonderfully playful, naturally joyful. It brings forth the unabashed creativity children have before they sometimes learn to suppress that wild freedom. Use this time to free yourself, to remember your childhood longings, talents, creativity. Leo can also be overly-boastful, ego-maniacal, narcissistic, and exhibitionist so those traits can be amplified in some people during this period.

Venus in Gemini sextile Uranus in Aries: Curiosity and courting risk manifests with positive results with this alignment. Expand your reading choices, your thought ruts, and move beyond your longtime preferences. Try something new, just one small thing.
Wed August 19
Mars enters sidereal Aries: We are soon to confront the challenging and motivating Mars retrograde cycle which takes place from September 9 – November 13. During this period, Mars meanders between astronomical Aries, will backtrack into sidereal Pisces on September 30, then charge back into Aries on Christmas Day. This will mostly likely be a tumultuous period, so appreciate and utilize this new-found fire of Mars in Aries to get back on track with projects and goals and manifest greatly in the next four weeks. Read more about Mars turning retrograde in my September 9 post below.
Moon in Leo trine Uranus in Aries: Feel energized, joyful, and ready to take a chance with this positive aspect. Break free of a rut, take a new route home, change one small habit in your life.
Thu August 20
Venus in Gemini opposite Pallas Athene in Sagittarius: This creative alignment helps you see all sides of a situation but can also polarize parties in a stand off, stymied about how to proceed.
Moon in Virgo trine Saturn in Capricorn: Problem-solving or chores are easy as you spend time with your family in constructive ways. This late evening aspect can lead to a cleaning binge or sudden work productivity.
Fri August 21
Grand square in mutable signs: The mutable signs in astrology are associated with being flexible and with the ability to adapt to change quickly. They are linked often to professions of travel, teaching and learning, politics, and communications. Today, all four signs are activated by a different planet. With the Moon in Virgo you are determined to succeed, very discriminating, able to clearly sort and sift to make the best choice going forward. With Venus in Gemini you love to travel and scout out the best route. With Chiron in Pisces, your intuition is strong and your magical abilities to shape shift are profound. And with Pallas Athene in Sagittarius you see the big picture, the larger overview, helping you achieve new heights of vision and success.
Sat August 22
Moon/Juno conjunction in Virgo opposite Mars in Aries: Take action to help someone in need. This might entail a rescue mission for some. Relationships can become inflamed, positively or negatively. Connect with someone and sharing healing vibes.
Sun August 23
Moon in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries: Be spontaneous in making plans, allow disruption in your usual way of doing business and you may experience a breakthrough that leads to experimental fun.
Mon August 24
Mars in Aries square Saturn in Capricorn: Ouch, with this tense square, you might be stung by a truth, face a harsh reality, be confronted by another’s stern judgment. Or you might do hurt and harm to someone in a careless moment. Be truthful, not mean or unkind, under this glaring paring.
Moon in Libra trine Neptune in Aquarius sextile Jupiter/Pluto conjunction: This aspect thankfully softens the potential hostility of the Mars/Saturn square with its desire to keep the peace as challenges are addressed and cooperative solutions are found.

First Quarter Moon
Here’s a brief synopsis of the First Quarter Moon characteristics from my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from his Lunar Planner:
“The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. This time is stressful or traumatic only if action is ignored. Simply, this phase is a time to work.”
Tue August 25
First Quarter Moon: Moon in Scorpio square Sun in Leo: Feel determined and focused as Sun and Moon square off in what are called the ‘fixed’ signs of Scorpio and Leo. Fixed signs are both stubborn and wildly productive. Given the possibilities for new creative options appearing, today might bring some news or help you set in motion the potential for future good news concerning your goals and relationships. Connect with your inner determination to succeed, which might mean you actually need to relax more. Life isn’t always about doing your best, it’s equally about simply being yourself.
Venus in Gemini opposite Jupiter in Sagittarius: The cosmic field of love feels expansive under this aspect but the opposition can temporarily widen chasms of misunderstanding. Feel the tensions of your own opposite desires and see if a third option appears as you honestly look into your heart.
Wed August 26 – Thu August 27
Two grand trines in fire signs: This is unusual. Today we have two grand triangles in sidereal fire signs. This is like seeing a double rainbow which always feels extra auspicious!
Mars in Aries trine South Lunar Node in Sagittarius trine Sun in Leo: Mars makes an exact supportive trine to the South Node—the past—and an exciting sextile to the North Node—the future. Courageously move forward with your plans. The addition of the lovely trine to the creative Leo Sun makes for a joyful mood, reminding us that play should be an active part of our lives so we will live our most successful lives.
Mercury in Leo trine Uranus in Aries trine Pallas Athene in Sagittarius: This fire trine activates our mental creativity with inspiration, gives us the courage to speak what’s on our minds, helps us organize with others in innovative ways, sparking strategies for greater success.
Fri August 28
Sun in Leo opposite Ceres in Aquarius: This annual opposition brings perspective and sometimes a rebalancing in our core relationships. Ceres symbolizes what most nourishes us, and that can be food, media choices, who we consider as family/tribe. It’s an excellent day or night for a potluck or celebrating in other ways.
Moon/Jupiter conjunction in Sagittarius: This exuberant pairing amplifies emotions on our planet, even with our pets and other animals. It makes some exceptionally joyful and want to play harder or it makes others extremely dogmatic and want to fight.
Sat August 29
Moon/Saturn/Pluto conjunction square Mars in Aries: This tense square can create heaviness, temper tantrums, aggression in some. It is also very determined to succeed and helps focuses our will power and athletic abilities to achieve goals.
Sun August 30
Venus in Gemini opposite Pluto in Sagittarius: This aspect makes us obsess on our relationships or on an artistic endeavor so dive in today! Be your own therapist or seek out another’s listening ear. Push through a creative block. Oppositions allow us to see two sides of a situation (or many points of view–Gemini) and can help us find our way through a temporary dark passage—Pluto’s terrain.
Mercury in Leo opposite Neptune in Aquarius: When Mercury and Neptune are in relationship, our minds become more creative and intuitive, or ungrounded and even unstable. Use the magic of this aspect for creative thinking and visualize clearly what you want to see happen. That is the secret to creating the life you want which is sometimes different than the one you are currently living which you created from your past choices. Be mutable. Remember change is the only constant in the universe.
Mon August 31
Moon in Capricorn trine Juno in Virgo: This positive and productive trine brings partners together to accomplish shared goals. Things go well with your clients and coworkers. Sign up for a personal trainer, health coach, or tutor to help you reach your goals.

Full Moon in sidereal Aquarius/Leo
Here is a brief synopsis of the Full Moon characteristics from my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from his Lunar Planner:
“The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration. The day just after the Full Moon is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, culminating in the enthusiasm of the Full Moon. Relax and allow this realization to occur.”
Tue September 1
Full Moon in sidereal Aquarius/Leo: Moon/Ceres in Aquarius and Sun in Leo: As I wrote in my introduction for this SolLunar Cycle, the sign of Leo is wonderfully playful, naturally joyful but can also be overly-boastful, ego-maniacal, narcissistic. This Full Moon can be full of high drama for some and recreational fun for others. Because the Moon—our needs—is linked to Ceres—that which is nourishing—and they align in friendship Aquarius, enjoy the company of others with celebratory Full Moon gatherings and dances.
Mercury in Leo trine Pluto in Sagittarius: Pluto can provide an extra push of energy or determination. Today Pluto is working with our mental health—Mercury—in a supportive trine. Meditate, plough through procrastination surrounding communications. Fix gadgets, computers or vehicles, also Mercury’s domain.
Wed September 2
Venus in Cancer opposite Saturn in Capricorn: This stern aspect makes us face the sometimes unpleasant responsibilities of our caregiving roles, like disciplining a child or transitioning an aging parent to a new living situation. Some might face limitations in their chosen relationships, or within themselves. Set healthier boundaries in a key relationships. Work on a budget and pay bills.
Sun in Leo trine Uranus in Aries: Make some time today for spontaneity. A sudden change in plans might bring a delightful surprise.
Thu September 3
Mercury in Virgo trine Saturn in Capricorn opposite Moon in Pisces: This lovely discerning aspect brings together our thinking left-brain skills and our right-brain emotional intelligence talents for better communication and problem-solving with cohorts and colleagues.
Fri September 4
Sun in Leo trine Pallas Athene in Sagittarius: Pallas Athene is the queen of strategy and creative design. This helpful trine to artistic Leo makes it a stellar day for artists, designers. It greatly assists parents who are home-schooling or teachers creating new ways to teach. Special blessings and support for all the parents and teachers who face challenges in this time of educational reinvention.
Venus in Cancer square Mars in Aries: Tensions may arise at home—Cancer—with this momentary square. You may have a deep desire for change but feel angry or frustrated that you can’t seem to make it happen yet. Ride out this temporary storm and embrace being in limbo. All will eventually shift.
Moon/Chiron conjunction in Pisces: This monthly pairing brings tenderness and gentleness in sharing our feelings with others. Help a hurting animal or soul.
Sat September 5
Moon/Mars conjunction in Aries: Today’s pairing of the emotional Moon with action-oriented Mars in I-want-it-now, Aries, can be accident-prone, emotionally reactive to others or manifest as impatient frustration with your self.
Juno in Libra trine North Lunar Node in Gemini: Positive shifts forward with partners and clients happen under this upbeat turning.
Sun September 6
Moon/Uranus conjunction in Aries: Breakthroughs or breakdowns are part of this shocking sky matrix today. Listen to your intuition so you can receive the gift of insight that surprising Uranus might bring to you.
Juno in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn: Important decisions need to be made with the turning-point square of Juno—key associates/partners—to Saturn–leading to new beginnings or completions, depending on where you are in your process.
Mon September 7
Grand trine in fire signs: Sun in Leo/Moon in Aries/Jupiter in Sagittarius: This optimistic and energizing trine activates courage– Moon in Leo–creative inspiration–Sun in Leo–and self-confidence– Jupiter in astronomical Sagittairus.
Tue September 8
Moon in Taurus sextile Venus in Cancer trine Mercury in Virgo: The stabilizing Moon in Taurus helps you give voice—Mercury–to the desires in your heart—Venus–and leads to concrete actions that support you and others.

Last Quarter Moon
Here is a brief synopsis of the Last Quarter Moon characteristics from my friend and sidereal colleague, Nick Anthony Fiorenza from his Lunar Planner:
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. Changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.”
Wed September 9
Last Quarter Moon: Moon in Taurus square Sun in Leo: When the Moon transits Taurus, hidden self-doubts or self-worth issues can arise. Sometimes we mask these fears by seeking safety and comfort via our addictions. This action-oriented square to courageous Leo can help you choose to work through those doubts by taking initiative, shifting patterns and habits in life-enhancing, revitalizing ways. Go for it!
Mars turns retrograde in astronomical Aries: This is huge and always fills me with caution and trepidation. Every other year when Mars turns retrograde, life changes in dramatic ways. The last time was the summer of 2018, not an easy period for many, This Mars retrograde cycle takes place from September 9 – November 13. During this period, Mars has briefly meandered into astronomical Aries since August 19, then will backtrack into sidereal Pisces on September 30, then charge back into Aries on Christmas Day. Use the current transit through early Aries to get back on track with projects and goals and manifest greatly in September. After that, things may become more laden with challenge again as we enter in Part Three of 2020.
Mars governs what we are passionate about and where we want to take action. In its highest expression, Mars is about speaking your truth, walking your talk, but not pressuring others to believe what you believe. Mars runs very hot in some people and manifests as sacred rage and political activism. Its expression runs cooler in others and expresses more as kindness-in-action or spiritual activism. Often under this retrograde, bizarre accidents increase, medical emergencies arise, conflicts come to a head in relationships, organizations, politics and global affairs. It is important to understand and accept that any challenges faced during this time are somehow necessary to ensure that the truth is being told and that which has been buried erupts into the daylight. In that healing light, we can live from the honesty, passion and joy or our red beating hearts.
Here are some wise words from my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from his Lunar Planner about the Mars retrograde: “The focus now turns toward fiery Mars and its retrograde in the watery depths of Pisces, like lava pouring into the sea. This Mars retrograde also conjoins Eris and creates a T-square with Pluto and Haumea. We may begin to see an intensification of societal unrest, aggressive reactive behavior, an eruptive volatile expression, and the awry use of power in the world at large. This is the lower-order resonances of Mars, which are based in fear of egoic survival and our fight-or-flight primal response.”
“For those who have been working with and embracing the powerful catalytic changes this entire year has brought, and who are focused upon inner growth, have been relinquishing old patterns of the past, and antiquated mentalities, while having the willingness to enter into new levels of conscious awareness and paths in life yet to be realized, this last few months of the year, although it may be intense, challenging, and impelling a downright feisty attitude, can yield tremendous rewards regarding our inner growth, self-empowerment, and how we express our creative initiative in life.”
I’ll be writing more about this important cycle in future Star Signposts.
Sun in Leo trine Jupiter in Sagittarius: Jupiter often brings a bout of good news or confidence in the game of life. A trine in astrology is an aspect of grace with good things flowing to us without any effort involved. May this sunny aspect brighten your day.
Thu September 10
Moon/North Lunar Node in Gemini: ‘Feel the fear but go for it anyway’ as the saying goes. Time to move forward with the next small step or giant leap concerning what you long to manifest. This can involve simple projects like bringing order to your work area or writing a note to a sibling you’ve been meaning to reach out to.
Mercury in Virgo opposite Chiron in Pisces: Link creative problem-solving (thinking-Virgo) with emotional intelligence (feeling-Pisces) which ensures successful communication and the best possible outcomes.
Fri September 11
Sun in Leo opposite Neptune in Aquarius: Dramatic and playful Sun in Leo makes its annual oppositiong to mysterious, intuitive, Neptune, which is currently transiting astronomical, futuristic, all-is-one, rainbow tribe, Aquarius. This makes for a celebratory Friday and also helps expose illusions or delusions. Some of you will dress up in costume and role-play with this theatrical mix or imbibe too much. May you enjoy the magic of this moment in ways that bring you joy.
Moon in Gemini square Mercury in Virgo: The nature of Gemini is to be infinitely curious and non-committal and the nature of Virgo is to be exact and dedicated. So the tensions today may involve parties trying to make their point with different communication styles. This aspect can be very productive as you handle many details and projects at once, possibly heading off a crisis.
Sat September 12
Jupiter in sidereal Sagittarius turns direct: It’s amusing and surprising to me that in the intensity and confusion of these times, I forgot to post when I first posted this SolLunar Cycle about a key astrological event I was awaiting all summer: Jupiter turning direct on September 12 from its retrograde of May 14! Consider what changes you were considering in May and reflect on how these past five months you may have cleared out the old in preparation for a leap forward. Jupiter is our largest local planet and exerts an expansive energetic quality to all endeavors. Things can move forward in positive ways with renewed confidence. This can also be a time of fortuitous transitions, which may include passing or completions for some. Jupiter also likes to overly-exaggerate or manifest as a greediness of personality where enough is never enough so some will try to seize power over others in their hubris. I am happy to report this is mostly good sky weather news, something we can all use.
Moon in Gemini opposite Jupiter/Pluto in Sagittarius: You may have noticed things are extremely polarized these days. Today’s astrological configuration can make it feel even more so given Gemini’s nature to see things as black and white, good and bad. But Gemini, in its other manifestation, is very curious and non-judgmental about others and can bring opposing views together, bridging divides. Either way, intensity is in the cosmic field today.
Sun September 13
Mars retrograde in Aries opposite Juno in Libra square Moon in Cancer: Strong Mars aspects make us more action-focused, passionate, quick to anger or feel frustrations. This polarizing aspect to Juno—key partners/clients—in Libra—relationships/finding balance—is good for seeking therapy or mediation to solve problems, doing something athletic with a beloved, and evaluating if a partnership is right for you.
Mon September 14
Sun in Leo trine Pluto in Sagittarius: Investigative Pluto uncovers hidden truths and creates steady focused energy all day long. It’s easier to let the past go today as Pluto is associated with purging and releasing debris and garbage we’ve been lugging around too long. Clear out the old and feel the vitality of the new, also Pluto’s domain.
Moon/Venus conjunction in Cancer: This beautiful team is viewable right before sunrise. The balsamic Moon of release teams up with Venus–the heart’s always evolving creative fountain–helping us navigate the immense changes required of each of us at this time with appreciation and gratitude.
Tue September 15
Moon in Leo trine Mars retrograde in Aries opposite Ceres in Aquarius: Speaking directly and honestly with love is part of this matrix. Help someone move things around or take that meeting outside to the trails or seashore and let the elements and the elementals revitalize your being.
Wed September 16
Sun/Moon in astronomical Leo: Miraculously both Sun and Moon meet up in the last degree of sidereal Leo, the same sign that began this SolLunar Cycle. But now you’ve lived through the past four extraordinary weeks and much has shifted. Take time to reflect on those changes, perhaps making it a play day versus work day.
Blessed New Moon tomorrow!
