“Ascension” painting by Jordan Potter
Here it comes, November 9. This is the day Jupiter exits astronomical, sidereal Scorpio and enters its exalted home of Sagittarius for the coming year. This is sure to be a profound and positive energetic shift for us. After Jupiter’s year-long challenging deep dive through Scorpio, the sign of transformation, death and rebirth, we bring to a close this once-every-twelve-year portal of the profound inner examination of all we hold dear. I am sharing this good news now as it gives me a whole lot of joy and faith that this phase is nearing completion and the next uplifting transit of Jupiter through sidereal Sagittarius begins. I will write more about this in next month’s Star Signposts.
During this SolLunar Cycle, Pluto will turn direct on October 2 from its retrograde of April 24. A stunning event will be this month’s Full Moon on October 13 exactly squaring cathartic Pluto. Then fiery Mars makes a rare square to the Lunar Nodes the same day as the Last Quarter Moon on October 21. Another dynamic, shocking and transformational month lies ahead.
Thank you, beloved Jordan Potter, for the use of your exciting art for this post. Please view more of the Jordan’s many artistic expressions and transformational art at Jordan Potter Art.
Readings and Sidereal Mentoring
Thanks for considering a sidereal mini-reading with me for $44 or a bit longer reading for $88, the numbers of living your Mastery on Earth. In these short readings, I discuss key personal transits that are happening for you in 2019 and beyond. I am excited to be mentoring students individually or in groups/workshops who want to learn more about how to work with sidereal astrology in their own chart or with their clients. Send me an email if you are interested in those options, or a full Natal Map or Update. Thank you!
My interpretations and predictions are based on the sidereal astronomical alignments. As you work with and within the natural flow of time and the supportive cosmic energies that each unique SolLunar Cycle brings, life flows with more ease, grace and understanding.
I highly encourage serious sidereal students to subscribe to Nick Anthony Fiorenza’s monthly Lunar Planner. Nick is the expert and his website is a treasure trove of historical and current information and insights.

New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Virgo
Here is a brief synopsis of the New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from his LunarPlanner:
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, a new theme emerges, a new idea or concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen.”
Sat September 28
New SolLunar Cycle in astronomical sidereal Virgo: Our New Moon takes place in discerning, health-seeking, research and service-oriented Virgo, important themes for the upcoming month. Both Sun and Moon align with Zaniah, a star which seeks a refined perfection in all things including purity of body/mind/spirit. From the seat of a clear, unclouded physical and spiritual consciousness, one can become more aware in the right use of will, knowing which actions to take based on the perspective of the noble wise Self rather than from the more insecure ego-based identity. This period is the perfect time for an annual cleanse, meditation retreat or to integrate healthy habits into your daily routine. Some of you will create healthier boundaries in out-of-balance relationships. Some might feel a big shift relating to habits you’ve been wanting to change. Become more discerning in your daily purchases, supporting the products and businesses whose values you respect, as that is an essential way we change the world.
Sun September 29
Moon/Venus/Mercury conjunct in Virgo: This lovely planetary fusion is socially gracious, kind-hearted and seeks focused conversation.
Mon September 30 – Tue October 1
Mars in Virgo trine Vesta in Taurus: This helpful trine in grounding earth signs has great endurance and focus and helps you plough through tasks or perform physical feats. It is service-oriented and can bring good financial news.
Venus in Virgo square Pluto in Sagittarius: Venus is linked to love, money, creativity. The tense square to transformational Pluto can bring hidden information to the surface, can manifest as obsessive/compulsive behavior, or help you let go and surrender to what is happening. It is what it is.
Wed October 2
Pluto in Sagittarius turns direct: All day long, transformational, death-to-the-old-birth-to-the-new, Pluto, is coming to a halt, leaving its retrograde from April 24 and heading forward again, sure to bring new momentum to our lives. I call Pluto the cosmic backhoe, or the great composter because Pluto transits help us release the things that we no longer need in order to keep evolving and growing. This is a very slow turning and will show us how it means business over the coming weeks. Feel your power and vitality surge in bold new ways as this fine aspect bathes our planetary field.
Thu October 3
Moon/Ceres/Jupiter conjunction in Scorpio: This abundance alignment creates nurturing gatherings where people are willing to share more deeply their process or current life challenges. It can be super-possessive, too, which can lead to feelings of jealousy or envy in some.
Fri October 4
Moon in Sagittarius square Mars in Virgo: Tempers can flare or people get right to the point as they tell you their opinion without apology. It can increase inflammation in the body leading to temporary uncomfortable symptoms. Eat green food, chill between activities.
First Quarter Moon
Here’s a brief synopsis of the First Quarter Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from his Lunar Planner:
“The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Now is the time to drop all hesitation and take the steps. Trust in the process. This time is stressful or traumatic only if action is ignored. Simply, this phase is a time to work.”
Sat October 5
First Quarter Moon: Moon/Saturn in Sagittarius square Sun in Virgo: Given the theme of this SolLunar Cycle of purifying our bodies, intentions and actions, use today’s action-oriented Moon in Sagittarius to get fired up and motivated to set in motion new plans and practices and feel a sense of joyful self-empowerment. Sagittarius is happiest when it’s learning something new, taking a trip, or teaching something to someone. A very dynamic First Quarter Moon!
Sun October 6
Sun in Virgo square Lunar Nodes: You might feel wobbly or doubtful in your sense of purpose of direction. It’s only temporary so don’t feed the fear, ride it out. You can use this aspect to take decisive steps toward your future direction (North Node) including clearing out old stuff thereby creating empty space for the new treats and gifts to arrive.
Moon/Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius: This monthly alignment can make you feel obsessive, unable to stop thoughts or emotional loops. Take a long run or hike and allow your thoughts run their course, to arise and pass away, as the Buddhists say.
Mon October 7
Sun in Virgo square Saturn in Sagittarius: This serious aspect highlights our responsibilities, our sense of feeling limited in some way and encourages activities like sticking to a budget or commiting to your plan or recovery.
Pallas Athene in Libra trine Neptune in Aquarius: This rare aspect is good for long-range planning on creative community projects or relationship goals. Therapists are busy helping many feel a sense of positive progress and new-found hope.
Mercury in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries: Your mind can be struck by the lightning of awareness or you might experience a breakthrough or insight in a key conversation.
Tue October 8
Moon in Capricorn trine Sun in Virgo: Feel super organized and productive under this daylong lovely trine.
Mars in Virgo opposite Chiron in Pisces: Both Pisces and Virgo can bring healing releases, even crises, if something has been building and needs to be expressed. This can be a day of physical/mental/emotional purging which ultimately brings great health once the challenging event is over. Visit healing hot springs or book with favorite energy/body worker. Volunteer your time toward a cause that has meaning for you.
Ceres in Scorpio square Neptune in Aquarius: This long-range aspect can create a necessary severing in some relationships or launch new commitments in emerging partnerships. There is a tension between wanting to control others or seeking to create more freedom in intimate relationships.
Wed October 9
Sun in Virgo sextile Ceres in Scorpio: With this helpful, stimulating aspect, work flows well with some exciting developments taking shape.
Moon in Aquarius trine Venus in Libra: Great day for a social lunch with friends or colleagues, including new acquaintances.
Thu October 10
Moon/Neptune conjunction in sidereal Aquarius: The good vibes continue from yesterday with this upbeat social alignment. There’s a willingness to give people the benefit of the doubt. Neptune also reveals deception, so some finally admit what they’ve been unwilling to acknowledge about what someone is REALLY up to.
Fri October 11
Moon/Chiron conjunction in Pisces: This emotional aspect builds around midnight tonight and carries into tomorrow morning. Take a relaxing bath before bed. You might have important dreams of water as you unconsciously process your deeper emotions.
Sat October 12
Venus in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries: Breakdowns or breakthroughs in relationships often occur with this opposition. A sudden buyer may appear or an exciting opportunity arrives.
Mars in Virgo quincunx Uranus in Aries: Balancing the need to be helpful to others while honoring your own inner calling can create some tension within you. The key for harmony and successful relationships is always honest communication, right?
Full Moon in sidereal Pisces/Virgo
Here is a brief synopsis of the Full Moon characteristics from my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from his Lunar Planner:
“The Full Moon marks the point of coition in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement, a time of celebration. The day just after the Full Moon is a time for the realization of the theme to emerge, culminating in the enthusiasm of the Full Moon. Relax and allow this realization to occur. There is no need to force it as it surfaces on its own.”
Sun October 13
Full Moon: Sun in sidereal Virgo opposite Moon in Pisces square Pluto in Sagittarius: The natural intensity of every Full Moon is amplified today by the square to transformational, growth-propelling (and also power-grabbing) Pluto. This is an excellent Full Moon to create your own zone of constructive chaos, like tearing down an old moldy wall so you can replace it with fresh new studs and drywall. It a day to tread carefully while also releasing the dream of safety so you are more open to radical change that will help you grow in positive ways. Virgo and Pisces love to serve. Serve your vision of a more expansive life with new-found vigor and courage.
Mon October 14 – Tue October 15
Moon/Uranus conjunction in Aries opposite Venus in Libra: This aspect makes for an electric day in our relationships. This might manifest as being shocked by something someone says or be instantly catalyzed by a chance encounter.
Mercury in Libra trine Neptune in Aquarius: This open-minded aspect bring a cooperative spirit to gatherings and leads to equitable, positive settlements in lawsuits or sales.
Wed October 16 – Thu October 17
Moon/Vesta conjunction in Taurus trine Mars in Virgo: Focus on finances or on physical tasks like moving heavy objects or lifting weights. Taurus energy can be stubborn so some might dig in their heels and remain immovable on an issue.
Fri October 18
Moon in Taurus opposite Ceres/Jupiter in Scorpio: As money, home and abundance-consciousness are highlighted by this pairing, you might purchase a new piece of equipment or furniture or host a fancier-than-usual dinner party. Review and practice the principles of manifestation so you are imagining and calling in the abundance you desire in the ways you deserve at this time of your life.
Sat October 19 – Sun October 20
Moon/North Node in Gemini opposite Saturn/South Node/Pluto in Sagittarius: With this two-day portal of intensity, you might be given a choice that must be made or close the door on opportunities that no longer feel right to you. Gemini and Sagittarius seek travel and gobble up non-stop information. Book some trips, peruse many books or articles They rule education and political institutions so big decisions are pending regarding those arenas.
Last Quarter Moon
Here is a brief synopsis of the Last Quarter Moon characteristics compliments of my friend and sidereal colleague, Nick Anthony Fiorenza from his Lunar Planner:
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.”
Mon October 21 – Tue October 22
Last Quarter Moon: Moon in Cancer square Sun in Libra: When the Moon transits through Cancer each month, the tendency is to want to nest at home, cook, hang with the family so perhaps the circumstances of life will make that happen in an unplanned way. Choose to work from home. Bring a nurturing treat to your colleagues or counsel someone through a challenge they might be facing.
Mars in Virgo square Lunar Nodes: This is a very important activation. Mars pressures us to speak our truth and to take actions based on our passions and values. This rare aspect helps to sever ties from our past and forge bonds with our emerging future selves. For some change comes with anger or a blow-out, for others outrage and passion rise from within, launching new actions. Speak your truth, take a stand, feel the vitality your inner sacred strength.
Wed October 23
Mercury in Libra opposite Vesta in Aries: This aspect creates sharp mental focus and concise conversations. Justice is served with this alignment
Thu October 24
Moon in Leo trine Saturn/South Node in Sagittarius: Feel more creative or energized with a Leo Moon and use this helpful trine to Saturn to focus that kid-play energy in productive ways.
Fri October 25
Jupiter/Ceres conjunction in sidereal Scorpio: This rare conjunction unites enthusiastic, abundant Jupiter with caregiving, nurturing Ceres in super-wealthy or super-controlling Scorpio. This marks a new beginning, like moving into a new home or a more abundant way of living, or seeking relationships that nurture your current needs and desires. On the global scene, the big reveal is on and truth is rising to the surface for all to see. The transit of Jupiter in Scorpio is almost done with its investigation of all that lies beneath the surface. Thank you, Jupiter and Ceres.
Moon/Juno conjunction in Virgo: This monthly pairing can bring us closer to our partners. The influence of Virgo supports us to be honest, offering helpful advice. Virgo also shows up as being critical and judgmental so buttons might get pushed for some.
Sat October 26
Moon/Mars conjunction in Virgo: Clean up your act with this tough-minded, fierce alignment. No more whining! Do something, make the change you know you want or need to make. That’s one way to use this energy. It’s excellent for deep cleaning and organizing, too. Beware tonight that sleep may be off and on or disturbed as tomorrow’s dynamic New Moon is exactly opposite electrical Uranus. Practice your best sleep hygiene before falling into bed. A lavender bath, an early disconnect from the grid, mediation and gratitude practices for the extraordinary month you just walked through.
Peaceful New Moon tomorrow!
