From an astrological perspective, I see a trend of environmental catastrophes happening in our world linked to this alignment: there is a many months conjunction of Mars ~ confrontation, the need to take action ~ and Vesta ~ focused action ~ and Ceres ~ astrological ruler of the environment, food issues, women and children ~ and the North Node ~ choosing a new destiny. Catastrophe can mean a ‘sudden turning.’ May we heed the call for rapid unprecedented change.

Here’s what I wrote from last week about today’s key event, Sun square Saturn: Reality crashes in or you discover a deeper discipline and focus to help you succeed in new endeavors. As a celestial energy, Saturn commonly strikes a more serious or melancholic tone in our planetary Field in both our inner and outer worlds. Think Beethoven. There are moments when you truly close the door on your former home/life, and walk fresh into something radically new. One can feel insecure and even terrified in those moments. Still, the door beckons you. That’s today, and all week long. With the helpful trine of Gemini Moon ~ make a list ~ to Saturn, it’s a good day to sketch out a plan. The power of visualization is key right now. And as this is the last day the Sun is in sidereal Capricorn ~ good for planning, discipline, dedication ~ take some time today to imagine yourself doing your future activities, goals, relationships. Your future You is walking by your side.

The somewhat private Cancer Moon is in a square today to a number of planets in Libra ~ sharing openly with your beloveds or even making peace with a person that has been challenging for you. First the Moon squares Mars, which can initiate a confrontation or need for clarification. Then as the day progresses, the Moon squares Vesta ~ focusing on finding a solution ~ and then onto Ceres ~ caregiving and knowing what works or doesn’t work for you. These energies can manifest as a momentary fleeting hiccup in an otherwise good relationship, or may become glaringly obvious what changes need to be made. And, blessed be, our exuberant life-giving Sun enters sidereal Aquarius. This month long transit is always a time of visionary leaps, innovative alliances, and connecting with your Future Self. My sense is the totality of who we really are, in all our multi-dimensional wonder is taking hold of our daily life in dramatic exciting ways. I also refer to this frequently as the Light Body Upgrade. Allow dissolution of your old concept of Self in favor of a more alive vibrant creative you. Resolve to evolve. Retrograde Mercury ~ your mind/communications/technology ~ is in a creative trine toVesta ~ the asteroid that rules focus and dedication to a cause. Some of you may feel scattered, grabbing onto one conversation or idea after another. Or you could experience a more focused mind if you can hone in on one or two options. But remember with Mercury still in retrograde, it’s important to focus your mind inwardly more than outwardly. I keep getting called to meditate more frequently right now by my spiritual Team. It’s like the Angel of Inner Facebook keeps asking me to check my internal spiritual NewsFeed for important new awarenesses and insights. It’s a funny image I know, but helpful!

It’s the Full Moon! This promises to be a most delightful celebratory day. And it’s Valentine’s Day. We all have beloveds. Let them know how special they are to you today. A joyful trine between Sun in friendly Aquarius and Mars in relational Libra makes for passion, cooperation and harmony everywhere. And today’s Full Moon alignment takes place with the Sun in Aquarius and the Moon in playful Leo. This dynamic tends to make you want to be with friends, join in community celebrations, attend art openings. Make a playdate with your people.

Today Mercury crosses the face of the Sun in an exact conjunction. This always produces a type of genius for those who have this aspect in their natal astrological chart. Today you can witness your own intuitive brilliance and guidance shining forth. Again, remember with Mercury still in retrograde till February 28, honor the pull to more quiet reflective kinds of activities to glean the full benefit of this sacred moment. There is also an aspect today called a magic rectangle, symbolic of linking left and right brain creativity in stunning ways. The analytic and the intuitive aspects of yourself merge to create innovative solutions that make good sense and also feel right. The creative Leo Moon is in an excitation sextile to Jupiter and an opposition to magical Chiron, amplifying the urge to experiment.
