This New Moon in sidereal Virgo is sharing the stage with Vesta, the asteroid of focus, dedication to a cause or purpose. Expect to stay on task with pinpoint accuracy and laser-focus for the coming four weeks. This will feel good after the recent life-changing Total Solar Eclipse which dismantled us energetically, on many unseen levels, and is still reprogramming us at the cellular level. This has not been easy for many, manifesting as a sense of being ungrounded, not put together right, completely lost. For others, it’s been a time of new beginnings as a radiant joy emerges from a new-found core of Being. In this SolLunar Cycle, we can see more clearly where life is taking us next, more sure of where to place our focus going forward. First Quarter Moon will be particularly dynamic and life-shifting as Pluto turns direct from it’s long retrograde and we are enveloped in the final Jupiter~Uranus opposition.

New SolLunar Cycle in sidereal Virgo: As our New Moon happens tonight just before midnight, much of today is best used in finishing up projects/commitments that you have been lax about completing or avoiding altogether. You might feel oddly exhausted yet extremely energetic, all at once. Our nervous systems are still adjusting to the life-changing cosmic shifts (this wasn’t just an earthly event) that occurred at Totality. Both Sun and Moon line up in boundary-setting, health-oriented Virgo, and are closely aligned with dedicated Vesta, allowing us to keep our eyes and intentions fiercely focused on where we want to go next. Vesta also symbolizes the hearth of a home where the nurturing fire keeps everyone warm and safe. Home and the dynamics of our home-lives will play a major role in the upcoming month. With Virgo, time to pay better attention on healthy habits and routines. You also have better discernment about what needs or wants to be shed.

Moon/Vesta conjunction in Virgo: Today our newly hatched Moon teams up with Vesta for a super-focused day, both emotionally and physically. This can lead to obsessiveness or being overly critical, which can be a good thing if you need to refine/design something. If you are a worrier, try not to let this dynamic amplify your worries, because it will. Instead, use the undaunted focus of Vesta to call forth faith and trust that you and your loved ones are safe and supported by the Universe.
Mercury in Leo trine Pallas Athene in Aries: If you are in the throes of redesigning your life (and almost everyone I know certainly is, which includes me!), this helpful aspect is great for getting mentally organized and sparks optimistic thinking.

Interesting, too, that on this Equinox, the Moon is in Libra, the sign of seeking balance, finding balance, making peace with all life has to offer.
Jupiter/Moon conjunction in Libra: Now that Jupiter has entered sidereal Libra, the over-arching focus for the upcoming year will be about relationships, the quality of those relationships, the need to redesign our relationships, the desire to be in relationship. First Quarter Moon: Moon/Juno in Sagittarius square Sun/Vesta in Virgo: Squares are productive and pressure us to choose the path we will take. This one might involve partnership in some way, given the square of Sun to Juno ~ asteroid ruler of all our key partners and colleagues. Moon/Juno in Sagittarius likes to take risks, but Sun in Virgo is more cautious and deliberate, so take note of and honor different approaches to solving a problem.
Jupiter/Uranus opposition completion: This is big astrological news! Expansive Jupiter makes the final of three oppositions (which began in December, 2016) to revolutionary, inventive Uranus. This aspect historically manifests as technological advances and breakthroughs, launches new social trends, encourages wild, unfettered originality. Some people have tried to stop this natural evolutionary advancement (I won’t name names), but it won’t work in the end, especially under the optimism of Jupiter and radical acceptance of Uranus. Sun/Vesta conjunction in Virgo: Today, you can experience a laser-like focus, steady energy and superb decision-making skills. If you haven’t started a Fall cleanse (especially linked to intestinal cleansing, Virgo’s domain), but sense it would be helpful for your health, today might be the day.
