New SolLunar cycle in Virgo
“Virgo’s New Moon” picture by StarWalk
The above picture depicts our latest New Moon in sidereal Virgo, also called a New SolLunar cycle, as both Sun and Moon are born anew every four weeks. Virgo is of Earth, earth tones, earthy foods, as well as seeking refinement and perfection in all ways. This will be a cycle to discover a deeper calm and grounded place inside yourself, if that is what you seek.
This week’s star weather is a bit subdued with one major exception: Mars square Jupiter on October 5. Mars rules our activist, warrior selves and Jupiter amplifies, even exaggerates, whatever it touches. This aspect can be a great confidence builder, but also can be highly combative and dogmatic.
If you are unfamiliar with working with the sidereal zodiac, the term simply means ‘real star time’ and honors the fact that our Solar System shifts it’s relationship to the backdrop of the constellation belt, moving about one degree every 70 years into the previous astrological sign. Even NASA is on board with alerting people about the astronomically correct sidereal zodiac! I have been a sidereal astrologer since 1991 as I believe it’s important to stay current with the living, breathing, always evolving heavens. It’s about living in the present moment.

Here is a list of New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from LunarPlanner:
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, a new theme emerges, a new idea or concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen.”
Note: I write my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. If you to work with and within these natural flow of time and supportive cosmic energy, your life will flow with more ease and grace. My interpretations and predictions are based on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. You can read about my unique way of interpreting astrology at this link: EarthWord SkyWord sidereal readings. Even NASA is onboard now with the sidereal zodiac!

Fri September 30
New SolLunar cycle: Sun/Moon/Jupiter in sidereal Virgo: Great news that this New Moon is tied to expansive, upbeat, confident Jupiter! This bodes well for a bounty of good things coming your way, while continuing the Virgo-work of sorting and sifting that which no longer serves you going forward. The upcoming four weeks can bring a rich harvest to you, based on all the hard shifts, deep-digging, bold-dreaming you’ve been engaged in throughout 2016. Virgo can call forth a healing crisis to get your attention, too, with the ultimate gift of getting healthier. Virgo is the World Server, desiring to help those who suffer or are in need. Consider where you are best designed to serve, want to serve, and let go of the rest.
Sat October 1
Moon in Virgo square Pluto opposite Uranus: The emotional intensity of the honest Virgo Moon opposing surprising Uranus and tensely squaring fiercely direct Pluto, can lead to important conversations with a potential sting, or surprising breakthrough. You might find yourself very focused on a task, then suddenly need a break (take it!) then suddenly ready to return for completion of said task. Follow your urges.
Venus in Libra trine Neptune in Aquarius: Unlike the above aspect, this one is much more gracious and kind in how you want to deliver a message or converse with another. Treat a friend to a special gift, and certainly make time to share time with a beloved.
Mercury in Leo opposite Chiron in Aquarius: This third aspect today also speaks to open-hearted conversations, possibly exposing a vulnerability or sensitivity about something. Speak up, and you will be heard and understood.
Sun October 2
Moon in Libra opposite Ceres in Aries sextile Mars in Sagittarius: This is an aspect of collaboration and activism, especially around environmental causes.
Sun in Virgo quincunx Neptune in Aquarius: The quincunx aspect suggests it would be good to make a subtle adjustment in regards to how you want to speak honestly to a friend. It’s about offering a helpful critique not searing criticism. Ask a friend or neighbor to help you with a challenging chore.
Mon October 3
Moon/Venus/Juno in Libra conjunction: Anyone engaged in calling in their ‘one’, their soulmate, a new pet? Today’s a day to feel a fusion of needs and desires, and if you use the power of your focus and imagination, you might have instantaneous success. Since Juno likes to partner, consider doing shared ceremony around goals and dreams. This is an extremely harmonious aspect and creates an ambiance of peace for all to partake in.
Tue October 4
Pallas Athene in Capricorn square Juno in Libra: This aspect is superb for planning or strategizing your next move, especially in terms of business ventures, family planning, co-designing something with another.
Wed October 5
Mars in Sagittarius square Jupiter in Virgo: As I wrote above, Mars rules our activist, warrior selves and Jupiter amplifies, even exaggerates, whatever it touches. This aspect can be a great confidence builder, but also can be highly combative and dogmatic. These two planets form a 90-degree square, which implies actions need to be taken, decisions need to me made, effort needs to be applied. Things heat up on the political scene, and explosions are possible.
Thu October 6
Moon/Saturn conjunction in Scorpio: This aspect happens overnight, and can influence your mood as you are greeting your day. It is both serious and determined, and might coincide with you having to do something a tad unpleasant, like going to the dentist or doctor, or face a financial issue head-on. Plow through jobs you don’t want to do, but have to do.
Fri October 7
Sun in Virgo square Pluto in Sagittarius: As this week comes to a close, this aspect keeps you hard at work all day, determined to clear the decks. It’s a strong alignment, too, for furthering your workout goals, your nutritional plan, and doing the grunt work that supports your bigger visions.
