New SolLunar Cycle in Taurus
“Cloud Birds” photo by Lyn Dalebout
The return of the cloud birds arrived yesterday. In my imagination, I see Vultures (Pluto’s bird of dismantling what we no longer serves us), Eagles and Hawks (messenger birds) and Phoenixes (Pluto’s bird of resurrection). This sky oracle is a fitting gift for this final stretch of the Mars retrograde in Scorpio that I’ve been writing about in recent weeks. Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio in astrology, and represents the love of power or the power of love. This challenging and deeply cleansing aspect has given each of us the opportunity to connect with our depths in more meaningful ways, while also ripping away what no longer serves us. My version of this process was dismantling and discarding forty years of personal journals last week. Good luck to all of you with your personal dismantling and resurrection. The ferocious energies will begin to ease now, a bit, but more shocking openings are possible till Mars turns direct on June 29. Muscle through.
This week, we are being birthed into a New SolLunar cycle, taking place in sidereal Taurus, aligned in a most intense Grand Square with optimistic Jupiter, realistic Saturn, and visionary Neptune. More about that in the June 4 post below.
Also, Venus will conjunct the Sun, marking it’s annual shift from the ‘morning star’ to become the ‘evening star’ in the months to come. Here’s a description, compliments SpaceWeather:
“SUPERIOR CONJUNCTION OF VENUS: Venus is about to pass directly behind the sun, an event astronomers call “superior conjunction.” On June 7th (UT), Venus will be at superior conjunction–a wonderful sight if only we could see it. Like the Moon, Venus has phases and on June 7th it will be gloriously full. The entire hemisphere facing Earth will be illuminated. Venus’s acid-laced clouds are terrific reflectors and a full Venus would surely be visible in broad daylight, an intense pinprick of light in the blue sky.Venus’s passage behind the sun marks an important transition. Earlier this year, Venus was a “morning star.” After it emerges from behind the sun, it will become a evening star later in June. Stay tuned for Venuslight.“
Lastly, I am now offering my Summer Solstice discounts on all my readings till the end of June, as well as mini-sessions to aid you in navigating this challenging Mars retrograde. Send me an email if you are interested. Thank you!

Here is a list of New Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza from LunarPlanner:
“Beginning the Sprouting Phase of the Lunar Cycle, a new theme emerges, a new idea or concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen.”
Note: I write my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. I encourage you to work with and within these natural flow of time and supportive cosmic energy, which ensures your life will flow with more ease and grace. I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. You can read about my unique way of interpreting astrology at this link: EarthWord SkyWord sidereal readings.

Here’s a photograph, compliments of Star Walk, of our New SolLunar cycle taking place in sidereal Taurus:
Sat June 4
New SolLunar Cycle: This is a particularly dynamic New Moon as the Sun/Moon/Venus conjunction becomes one of the four prongs of a Grand Square, astrology’s most tense, challenging and creative aspect. As intense as this New SolLunar cycle will be, it all feels very hopeful to me, given the challenges of the recent months. We are completing an historic T-square between Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune, that has seen great changes and shifts in the dreams and directions for our collective civilization. As this New Moon aligns in Taurus, conjunct the star of Rigel (the star of large-scale real estate projects), it will be a perfect month to initiate the next phase of building a stronger, more stable foundation for your life going forward. New beginnings are imminent, if not already in full-blown appearance.
Upon hearing the news of the passing of Mohammad Ali, I studied his chart. This New Moon perfectly activates his astrological signature in profound ways. Especially of note, Jupiter was crossing his North Lunar Node for the final time, signifying that what he had hoped to accomplish in this life, was fulfilled. It is surely a sign of ‘a good death’, recognizing he met his soul challenges, shared his gifts, and manifested greatly. Bless his being.
Sun June 5
Gemini Moon trine Juno in Libra: This talkative aspect takes place in the evening. If you exerted yourself in physical labor with the Taurus Moon, the Moon entering communicative Gemini finds you wanting to discuss, even ‘psychologize’ the day. Juno rules our marriages, key relationships, so this is an harmonious aspect that makes it easy to share your feelings and imagine possibilities.
Mon June 6
Sun/Venus superior conjunction: Venus crossing the face of the Sun creates a love portal of planetary proportions, bringing good energy and a desire for cooperation, while increasing self worth and a desire to create more beauty in your life. This also calls forth the need to follow the integrity of your heart’s directive. Those who are out of alignment with their higher heart directives, or not coming from a place of love and compassion, will suffer the consequences.
Moon in Gemini trine Neptune in Aquarius sextile Jupiter in Leo: Friendliness and supportive advice is the name of this game. Reach out and ask for help or naturally offer assistance to another. This aspect creates new friendships that will assist you in the coming months.
Tue June 7
Mercury in Aries: This is the last day Mercury is in sidereal Aries, so use this opportunity to look back and reflect on the bold new ideas and moves you have concocted over the course of the spring. Weed out those notions that are too far-fetched, and decide where you want to place your powerful mental attention in the coming weeks.
Wed June 8
Mercury enters Taurus: Time to ground an idea, be that in committing financial resources or physical effort.
Moon in Cancer trine Saturn in Scorpio: This aspect helps you organize your home, family business, budgets, home improvement projects.
Thu June 9
Mercury in Taurus opposite Mars in Scorpio: It can be a day of important activism as Mercury, ruler of communications, opposes Mars, ruler of taking actions. Both planets encourage and embolden us to speak our truth, often loudly, and sometimes in aggression or violence. It’s also a good day to address financial concerns. Time to communicate what you have been avoiding saying.
Fri June 10
Moon in Leo opposite Pallas Athene in Aquarius: Creativity abounds with this aspect. See how all the pieces of a puzzle might fit together. It’s a great day to redesign, rethink your strategy or next move.
Sat June 11
Moon/Jupiter conjunction in Leo trine Pluto in Sagittarius: This upbeat and exuberant aspect rules the day. Our emotive Moon makes it’s monthly alignment with optimistic Jupiter and the North Lunar Node, encouraging you to release old fears and risk trusting the unseen future again. Pluto’s influence, as I said at the beginning of this week’s post, is all about dying to the old so you will naturally, gracefully be reborn into the new.
