Adventurous: New Year~New Moon

Here we go again. As we launch into 2014, may we be full of hope, faith and trust that we will keep bettering our individual lives, our beloved’s lives, and move our world forward toward greater health, happiness, abundance and justice for all, right? I concur.
It just so happens, the divine star alignments today~January 1 2014~are in agreement with these optimistic intentions. Or that’s how I choose to read this celestial news.
SO: What would constitute an adventurous life for you? Set intentions today on this first day of 2014 to participate in making that dream come true. For some of you, that might entail taking a baby step, for others it will mean you will need to take a terrifying leap, leaving behind all known security. Both actions are equally courageous. Baby steps~terrifying leaps~all the same in the eyes of our divine guidance guided by our life vitality.

This is very cool: today’s New Moon occurs between 4:13 am MST and 4:14 am MST. We are leaving 2013 and entering 2014 at the exact second the clock moves from the 13th minute to the 14th minute. I find that to be a mind-boggling coincidence. I savor the cosmic synchronicity and the magic. 2014 begins with numerical magic.
Today’s New Moon takes place in sidereal (true astronomical alignment) Sagittarius~sign of truth-telling, adventure, righteousness~and aligns exactly with Pluto. Pluto transits or events, like today’s, span the range of death and destruction, to recycling and resurrection. From an astronomical perspective, this is an EXTREMELY potent way to launch the New Year. It is also a Blue Moon (there is another New Moon at the end of this month) and also a Super Moon (the Moon is closet to our Earth, thus magnifying our emotional fields). And Mercury is also part of this conjunction which symbolize our minds are on fire with inspiration, optimism. As I write this post, I am watching the news coverage of the largest, flashiest display of fireworks ever attempted, exploding at the 2014 NewYear’s celebration in Dubai. Seems extravagant, exaggerated, awe-inspiring~but that’s part of today’s sky dynamic. A fitting metaphor.

This kind of extreme heat can either burn you up with anger and argument, or fire you up to get motivated in the right direction. It’s your choice today. The following aspect might help guide you in constructive directions: the Moon~what instinctually motivates you~aligns exactly with Venus~where your heart is guiding you. Lastly, there is an opposition building between Mercury in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Gemini, exact early tomorrow morning. Conversations are pointed, fiery, volatile. Use this opportunity to set in motion travel or educational plans for the coming year. This year can be about adventure, if you are willing to take the risk. Exploring a new career is entirely possible for you this year, if you are willing and ready.

Aquarius is always about breaking free of convention and following your authentic nature. Remember: you make your own rules.

I am happy to report about today’s annual Sun~Jupiter opposition. This aspect lends itself to optimism, overextending yourself with perhaps too much bravado (a cautionary note), and in general creates a more upbeat attitude about everything. Nice. A square is forming between Mercury in Sagittarius~your big ideas~to Vesta in Virgo~how on Earth can I make that happen. Squares mean you have to apply effort so make time today to create an outline of the plan to accomplish the dream. Baby steps, or terrifying leaps.

The idea of Epiphany is this: hopefully you took some part of your time during these past weeks to reflect, restore yourself to hope, meditate, ask for guidance.
