Autumnal Equinox
What a dynamic astrological week ahead ! This year, Fall Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, always an important and sacred turning point each year, will be Wednesday September 23, 2015 at 2:22 AM MST. Mighty Pluto will complete it’s retrograde from April 2015 and face forward again. In addition, the always intense, driven, frustrating and combative Mars/Saturn square takes hold of us. Lastly, as our igniting Sun makes an annual conjunction to Juno, the ruler of our core partnerships, you might be forge a dynamic new relationship this week.
At the end of this post, I have included a special personal note. This week, I will be receiving an award for my Dad, posthumously, for his induction into the Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame. Dad was the inventive genius behind the DaleBoot ski boot, other inventions, and changed the world of skiing forever. It will be a poignant honor to receive this award for him. I know he is very happy and satisfied this is finally happening.

Here’s a list of the First Quarter Moon characteristics compliments of my friend/sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza ~ www.lunarplanner.com
“The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Now is the time to drop all hesitation and take the steps to move forth on what you were inspired about. The inspiration is now gone, it is time to now participate in trust and knowing. Remember, the flower that is about to burst forth from the bud is not yet visible. Trust in the process. Demonstrate this trust in physical action and you will be supported. This time is stressful or traumatic only if action is ignored. What you are putting together now is the groundwork for the manifestation of the theme. Simply, this phase is a time to work.”

Please note: I make my posts according to the Lunar cycles, posting on the New, First Quarter, Full and Third Quarter Moons. I seek to support you in working with and within the natural flow of time and energy, which will help your life flow with more ease and grace. Also, I base my interpretations and predictions on the true sidereal astronomical alignments. Mon September 21
First Quarter Moon in Sagittarius square Sun in Virgo: This aspect usually launches some form of action in your life and helps you overcome procrastination. That is particularly true today as the Sun is in hard working Virgo and the Moon is in fired up, motivated, athletic Sagittarius. The square aspect can sometimes create a pit of fear, hesitation, doubt, but hopefully you won’t let that stop you on a day like today.
Moon in Virgo square Lunar Nodes/Juno: As today progresses the action oriented Moon makes a square first to the Lunar Nodes which triggers you leaving behind old patterns and stepping into new habits and goals. Secondly, as the Moon squares Juno tonight, a tense confrontation with your mate may ensure, or you may realize you are not happy about what’s going on with a professional colleague. You might have to be more direct about that tomorrow.
Tue September 22
Moon/Pluto in Sagittarius square Mercury retrograde in Virgo: As I hinted at in yesterday’s post, this aspect is about taking direct action on the communication front. The current Mercury retrograde has already had you pondering, brooding over your interactions of late, and today you might suddenly need to step forward a share your truth ~ that’s always the gift of Sagittarius ~ while honoring your own boundaries ~ the gift of Virgo.
Wed September 23
Autumnal Equinox at 2:22 AM MST: This day marks a sacred turning point in the terms of Light on Earth. The Sun is halfway to it’s southernmost destination that will occur on Winter Solstice. This is a day of heading into the harvest period of your 2015. What needs to get finished by the end of this year in terms of projects, relationships, inner shifts, outer goals? If you can make time today, create a ceremony of intention for the coming three month period. Decide first, then the doing is easy.
Venus in Cancer trine Uranus in Pisces: This lovely aspect brings heartfelt connections to you throughout today, especially in regards to those your consider to be family. Spontaneous displays of affection abound. Great day to spruce up your domestic scene with surprising new colors, fabrics, dining ware, bedding. That’s Uranus’s influence. Take a playful risk today.
Moon/Ceres conjunction in Capricorn: A great day to connect with a special elder in your life. And this once-monthly alignment is excellent for organizing details of your business or doing advance planning in terms of your kid’s schedule and schooling.
Thu September 24
Sun conjunct North Node in Virgo: Once a year our Sun aligns with the Lunar North Node, a place in the zodiac that is synonymous with stepping into your future destiny, sometimes with trepidation, sometimes with excitement, often with a feeling of ‘this is meant to be’. They are aligning in sidereal Virgo which encourages you to use your finest discernment in making an important choice, creating healthy boundaries, committing to a life of greater health and vitality.
Moon in Capricorn opposite Venus in Cancer: This aspect can create a tug of war between your work responsibilities and requirements on the home front. Or you may want to stay home, but you need to go to work. Venus rules desires and Moon governs our needs. Today they can be at odds. I am grateful I’ll be receiving Dad’s award today as this is also a lovely expression of recognition by society for something pursued personally.
Fri September 25
Pluto turns direct: Yipdedoo! Woot woot! I always like the day when the ‘cosmic backhoe’ (one of my definitions of Pluto) turns direct from it’s five month retrograde period. Chances are some part of your life was turned upside down last spring, simply meaning that each new year naturally brings things that need to come to completion so new creative shoots will eventually emerge. The composting process of Pluto is complete, at least for now. Time to anticipate the new life emerging or projects coming to fruition. There’s always a bit of caution when a mighty planet like Pluto is shifting directions. Best to move/drive with extra caution and care in the coming days ahead.
Mars in Leo square Saturn in Scorpio: Always profoundly challenging, this aspect means it’s time to push yourself to go beyond previous limitations get on with it. Out of your enormous frustration or procrastination, you may finally feel ready to stop avoiding the inevitable. It can also mean it’s time to stop doing something because it’s no longer in your best interests to keep doing the same old same old. And sometimes that ‘stopping’ action is brought on by someone stopping you, such as a police person giving you a speeding ticket, or an accident that slows you down for a bit. This is a great day to lift a whole new poundage of weights, if you are a weight lifter. You will be surprised by your own strength and will.
Sat September 26
Sun/Juno conjunction in Virgo: This once yearly aspect shines light on the nature of all your core relationships. Things can suddenly become clear about whether to stay or move onto beckoning pastures. This might include your relationship to a place, your home, your Self. Sometimes this is a day of transition for those ready to leave, perhaps seeking another dimension. Be super present today to the quality of how you relate to others, and perhaps discover ways to improve those relationships.
Moon/Neptune/Chiron conjunction in Aquarius: The friendly and eccentric Aquarian Moon makes a rendezvous with artistic, spiritual Neptune and magical, healing Chiron. Classes fill to the brim today. Take in the galleries, visit communal spaces of creativity, like a good bookstore, your library’s nooks, your favorite coffee shop cafe. You can make some really interesting, life-altering connections today.

SPECIAL NOTE: My father will be inducted into the Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame this week. Below are the words that will be on Dad’s plaque to be permanently housed and the Alf Engen Ski Museum near Park City, Utah. We are grateful to all who made this happen. Thank you.
MELVIN (MEL) W. DALEBOUT ~ INDUCTED 2015 (1927 – 2014)
Developing a comfortable, high-performance ski boot was the lifelong passion of Mel Dalebout. It was a passion that today still transcends thousands of devotees worldwide who will attest that his innovative DaleBoot is the holy grail of ski gear.
The holder of 14 patents, Dalebout revolutionized boot making by encasing customized, foam-fitted liners in shells, first made of magnesium and later of plastic. His invention became the standard for performance-enhancing boot making and was the cornerstone of the DaleBoot USA ski boot company he founded in 1969 in his hometown of Salt Lake City and sold in 2007.
Dalebout’s other inventive contributions to skiing include removable boot soles, the first-ever canted soles, a stiff-top racing boot and a unique ski pole design and basket.
A graduate of the University of Utah, he was a mentor to many, set ski race courses and won the first race he ever entered, the Snow Cup B and C Trials. His skiing talents led him to be a second alternate for the 1952 U.S. Olympic Ski Team.
A trained engineer, Dalebout designed a state-of-the-art home at the base of Mt. Olympus where he nurtured his deep love and devotion to his family.
The Mel Dalebout inventive genius left a big, indelible imprint on the world’s ski and snowboard slopes. It reads: DaleBoot USA.
