Venus turns Direct

As we close out this latest SolLunar cycle with this week’s Last Quarter Moon, the major event in this upcoming week is Venus turning direct on September 6 from it’s retrograde of July 25. Perhaps you’ve said fare thee well to even more special Elders, or experienced a sense of completion and clarity around lingering family issues. That’s because this retrograde took place mostly in sidereal Cancer, the sign of family, parents, home life. Now marks a time to reorient toward future family configurations, roles, perhaps finding a home that better suits you now.

Here is a description of the qualities of the Last Quarter Moon phase compliments of my friend and sidereal colleague Nick Anthony Fiorenza at lunarplanner:
“This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. A sense of completion comes forth with a recognition that the past scenario has served its purpose and it is time to leave what is antiquated behind. Essentially a lesser self is what we will be shedding. It is now time to plow under the crops so they may become the fertilizer for the next cycle. This is a transformational time, a time for personal change. Step forth from old facades, and free yourself from past ways of participating in life. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Not making the realized changes keeps ourselves bound in a circle of old patterns of growth; changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.

Last Quarter Square of Moon in Taurus to Sun in Leo: Time to turn some kind of corner in your life, perhaps releasing some old sense of security ~ Taurus’s influence ~ and embracing the uncertainty but joyful possibility of future creations ~ Leo’s influence.
Sun in Leo trine Pluto in Sagittarius: This annual aspect is wonderful for enhanced endurance for any physical expression today. Excellent for running a marathon for instance, which is exactly what’s happening here in my hometown of Jackson Wyoming. There are many kinds of marathons, so may you feel your own endurance and courage today.

Venus in Cancer turns direct: If you can, face east at first light and send out a prayer of gratitude to Venus rising, about to turn direct from it’s retrograde of July 25. This exceptionally positive energetic may bring a fortunate turn in your life today or in the upcoming days. When Venus turned retrograde in July, it was the evening star, symbolic of things that might be ‘setting’ in your life. Now as Venus turns direct as the morning star, envision what is ‘rising’ at the dawn of your next phase. If you have packed up, or are still packing up, your old life, excitement may bubble up as you prepare to embark upon a new journey. The attitude of gratitude is associated with the power of Venus. So give thanks to the past and also give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way. A wise mantra.
Moon in Gemini square Lunar Nodes: The conversational, curious Gemini Moon makes a turning point square to the Lunar Nodes that represent your past and future directions. Excellent day to make travel plans, explore multiple timeline possibilities in conversation with a friend or dialogue with yourself within the safe and private space of your journal.
Mercury in Virgo opposite Vesta in Pisces: Focused communications, conversations, brainstorming are all assured under this aspect. There’s also a nice banter going on between your feeling self ~ Pisces’s influence ~ and your rational reasoning side ~ Virgo’s influence. You could make good decisions based in finding the balance that lies between both head and heart.

Moon in Gemini square Mercury in Virgo: This dynamic mirrors and continues yesterday’s aspects so re-read that post. In addition, this aspect is excellent for in-depth analysis/research but it might manifest as a glitch/rerouting in your travel plans.

Sun in Leo square Pallas Athene in Scorpio: With this dynamic, you might find yourself strategizing about how to budget for an upcoming creative project or playful adventure you long to set in motion. The square aspect supports decision-making. It’s about being willing to sacrifice something in the short term so your dreams happen in the long run.
Mars in Cancer trine Uranus in Pisces: This aspect is great for clearing out the closets/storage in your home. You as anticipate the joys of more order and organization, this rare aspect shouts “out with the old, in with the new”!

Mercury in Virgo square Pluto in Sagittarius: Use this productive aspect to purge your emails, clear your desk, clean out your cupboards and refrigerator. If you are currently working on creating even greater health and vitality, examine what needs to change in your nutrition ~ Virgo ~ and your movement/exercise routine ~ Sagittarius.

Moon/Venus/Mars conjunction in Cancer: Early morning sky alert! Set your alarm to wake up at dawn’s first light so you can absorb and muse beneath this emotional and exquisite tri-planetary union. You will see bright Venus with red Mars nearby and the waning crescent of the Moon. You may feel an uprising of unexplained feeling, even grief as these planets are aligning in sidereal Cancer. Please know this is also an energetic portal linked to being able to communicate with your loved ones who have passed.
