The above drawing of the mystical Phoenix, from my friend Sheri Gaynor’s journal, speaks to me of this week’s astrological cycle. We are giving birth to something. This image depicts some treasure we have been carrying under our wings, growing, gestating for a very long time. It suggests something is about to take flight, which will surely take us along for a wild ride. It is unendingly mysterious, this gestation process, of birthing something that in turn will birth us. Such, too, is the power of our art. It is always ahead of us, leading the way, ever the guide to our autonomous souls.
A seemingly sunny week lies ahead. It’s always nice to be able to report sunshine as we absorb the major shifts we made with last week’s Lunar Eclipse. Sometimes aspects I address in the current Star Signposts are building upon astrological currents carried over from the previous weeks. So remember you can always reread the past posts to review and understand how this divine puzzle is playing itself out in the wondrous unfoldment of your life.

I want to open this week with what happened yesterday in our heavenly Field, and as part of the theme of last week’s stellar Lunar Eclipse theme. Sometimes I sense in advance what an astrological transit might be about. Often, I get more insight as a transit is about to happen and I wish I would have addressed that for you readers last week! Maybe I will decide to start using Twitter to tweet out those insights. This past Saturday I had a deepening awareness of what yesterday’s conjunction of our illuminating Sun to the futuristic North Node in sidereal Virgo was about (you can read that in last week’s Star Signposts). Virgo is called the Virgin, but that what really means is being ‘unto oneself”. The blessed Virgin is about being centered in your knowningness, becoming aware of what is essential to your health and vitality, and symbolic of fertile creativity. Her teaching: it is up to you to give birth to new conditions in your life. Pure and simple. It is up to you. And, you can do it. Virgo guides us to take complete responsibility for where we are and where we want to go. It’s not that your relationships aren’t a central part of your life, but right now, the times demand we each give birth to (or take responsibility for) ourselves, no matter your relationship status.
Virgo shows us the gift of relating to the world with our most authentic self, with our full autonomy, which means having the freedom to be ourselves. We are particularly fortunate here in the USA to have more freedom than most of the rest of the world. As Americans, we are blessed to be pioneers co-creating a society based in autonomy, in celebrating our unique nature, living our joy and passion, sharing that Self openly with others. Now is a time to honor more deeply than ever before exactly what you need and want to fulfill your mission, your service, which is always what brings you joy and brings you to joy.
So be aware today of what dawned on you yesterday and absorb the gift. Today’s curious, trickster Gemini Moon is in a helpful trine to reflective retrograde Mercury in relational Libra, which ensures supportive conversations about the deeper meaning of our lives, our loves, our longings.

Today starts out lovey-dovey, warm and fuzzy, and then might be more emotionally tumultuous toward evening. A generous sextile forms between loving Venus and optimistic Jupiter. This bodes well for a mini financial windfall, good news in regards to your health (Venus is in Virgo) or a feeling you and your family members are momentarily inhabiting a cooperative zone (Jupiter is in Cancer). With the Moon in Gemini trine Neptune in Aquarius, a morning phone call with a sibling or friend brings helpful advice. Later in the day though, the ambivalent Gemini Moon opposes obsessive Pluto and squares erratic Uranus. You might feel taken over by a sudden mood swing or feel you have a split personality (we all do!). As you go to bed tonight, take a moment to attune and listen to your heart’s longings, your beloved by your side, or your creative goals. Set some intentions as Venus in Virgo aligns with the North Node of future destiny overnight. For those of you seeking a beloved companion, tonight’s a good night to call in that soul mate from your wildly autonomous Being. No more masks. No more disguises. Just YOU in all your beauty and authenticity, calling forth an equally enchanting being and perfect vibrational match for you. Today is the Last Quarter square in this Lunar cycle (which included that powerfully transforming Lunar Eclipse of Oct 8) which marks a turning point to both look back and forward simultaneously. These kinds of square days can pressure you to move beyond procrastination and muscle through, bringing things to completion. Also, the very helpful sextile that’s been building for a week between Sun and Mars finally comes to full bloom today. When these two active forceful planetary energies work in harmony as they are today, much can be accomplished, helpful activism takes a new foothold in our world, you are physically pushing through obstacles. Remember, too, the gift movement is. Our bodies love movement, love to move, so get a move on today! Sign up for a dance class, begin training for a race, be motivated in a new creative project.

There is a precision to today’s transits as two key conjunctions align exactly in our heavenly landscape….should I call that a skyscape? The keynote is Mercury still in retrograde reentering sidereal Virgo and making a conjunction with the Sun. Mercury is the ruler of our minds and so on a day like today our mental focus can become extremely pinpointed, obsessed, clear, brilliant. Today is a day of genius breakthroughs. But because Mercury is in retrograde, the realizations might take the shape of inner awakenings or intuitions about what’s really going on in a relationship. And the family loving Cancer Moon conjuncts Juno ~ our committed partners ~ which can manifest as marital bliss and connectivity, supportive family conversations that might include secrets being exposed.

Our beloved Sun switches signs today, departing Virgo the Virgin and entering time-to-relate Libra. This indicates the coming month will be a time we can practice our new-found autonomy with fellow humans, hopefully creating more authentic relationships in the end. Nice! And as internal reflective retrograde mental Mercury conjuncts heart-based Venus, it is easier to find the words to communicate what’s in your heart, even for the so-called inarticulate. And the monthly union of Moon and Jupiter always amplifies our emotional field big-time. This can be deeply nurturing or ridiculously moody as they align in sidereal Cancer.

Mars enters Sag Leo Moon minor grand trine Sun Venus leaves Virgo and enters LibrContinue to feel these hints of new beginnings mirrored in the transits of our local Solar System. Mars is done with Scorpio, for a couple of years. That feels good to me as Scorpio always drags us to the underworld, our underworlds, yet also uncovers the depth of our treasures within that are hard earned from all our hard knocks. Mars in Sagittarius will surely bring forth your own sword of truth, helping you cut through ties that bind, beliefs that still hinder you.
