Here is an excerpt from a poem, in honor of the coming New Moon in sidereal Virgo ~ the astrological sign of Service.
MASTERY IN SERVITUDE

Autumnal Equinox arrives tonight at 8:29 pm MDT. This day always marks a turning point, helping you gain understanding and perspective about the previous six months. What seeds were planted at Spring Equinox, then blossomed from Summer Solstice to now? This is a good time to appreciate all you have navigated with grace and tenacity, right? Today’s other huge event from the astrological news feed is Pluto is turning direct after a long retrograde period that started in early April 2014. This can manifest as sea-change turning points in terms of all themes Plutonian ~ uses/abuses of power, biological concerns, life and death transformations, recycling, cataclysmic events. You get the picture. The old is dying and the inevitable new vitality of the future is being born. But not without a struggle. And a whole lot of courage.
I want to re-post what I wrote about yesterday, September 21. Almost half a million humans showed up in New York City for the largest Climate Change march ever ~ http://350.org/ ~ which also coincided with the annual UN International Day of Peace ~ http://pathwaystopeace.org. Here’s what I wrote about this day last week: “It’s an intense day from the stellar perspective. Mars ~ passionate, standing your ground, speaking your truth ~ makes a creative, decisive square to spiritual, artistic Neptune. This will surely manifest as a turning point in collective choices as to where we stand spiritually, artistically, and in regards to what we will no longer tolerate in terms of the abuse of life. Heart-centered Leo Moon ~ what do you believe ~ triggers this aspect in a dynamic square. Don’t be a bystander, enter the fray. Time to act on behalf of what matters most to you.”

On the last day of a lunar cycle ~ today ~ you can go one of two ways. You may be very tired and just want to rest and reflect, or you may find yourself in a flurry of finishing up many tasks. If you are up at the literal crack of dawn, you can see the barest sliver of a waning Moon exactly conjunct Venus, both in sidereal Leo, a beautiful conjunction to behold. Make a wish upon these planets as you bask in their magic, that what you need and what you want find union within your being, for that is the cosmic meaning and manifestation of this alignment.

What a potent New Moon arrives today, hatching in the early morning hours. The birth of this SolLunar cycle takes place in sidereal Virgo, closely aligned with the star of Zaniah, which speaks of finding the pure Source of everything, our world, the purity of your soul essence, that one deep longing that forever resides and guides you throughout your life. Normally on the first day of a New Moon cycle, the wisdom would be to get your bearings, make no plans, all is new, don’t make a move yet. But not today. This New Moon makes an immediate sextile to passionate, and very driven Mars in Scorpio. Whatever you are feeling strongly about, you will want to find a way to make it happen. In addition, Pallas Athene ~ ruler of our creative intelligence, goddess of wisdom and strategy ~ crosses the North Node ~ your future destiny. New alliances are launched, and your bright ideas and life plans move suddenly forward.

This is a pivotal day. A rare trine occurs between Jupiter and Uranus, which will launch new and wonderful things that will manifest fully into form by next March 2015. This is perhaps my favorite planetary combo, sure to bring revolution, awakening, brilliant creativity to our planetary Field. Yesterday’s themes continue today as the Moon now crosses the North Node and aligns with Pallas Athene. Now you can get your whole emotional drive behind some new creative endeavor, goal, strategy. Venus enters sidereal Virgo for the coming weeks. This aspect is wonderful for being more discerning, discriminating, refining in all choices linked to love relationships, health, art, money. And Juno ~ key personal and professional partnerships ~ has now entered Cancer. This can manifest as mixing up your personal life with your professional life, or visa versa. It’s like projecting issues you had with your parents onto your boss or co-workers, or even on your children. Beware of this. Be the grown-up. In general this long range transit can usher in a tender time of healing within families, and a return to appreciation of shared family history.

Early in the day, the emotional Moon and mental Mercury conjunct and align in fair-minded, peacemaking Libra. If you are in any kind of negotiation today, it should go well. This is a great day to schedule a meeting for your business or make time for a special date with your beloved. Caution: over the next two days, Mars aligns with Antares, the red heart of Scorpio. If we tracked this alignment, which happens every two years, we would surely find these are the days marking a burst of warfare, violence, confrontation, nuclear meltdowns, major power negotiations. This is an extremely volatile pairing from the astrological perspective. This aspect will also spawn intense creative surges, passionate encounters of all kinds, a ferocity of willfulness. May you channel this energy with vitality, physical activity, and a new-found drive toward your current aspirations.

Two influences today insure you may need to set boundaries in your relationships or find ways to be more discerning in your choices. The Sun aligns with Zaniah, a star associated with being too perfectionistic, or desiring to find the perfect solution. Big difference. And the Libra Moon makes a monthly conjunction with both Ceres ~ a desire to be a caregiver ~ and Saturn ~ a desire to make sure relationships are reciprocal and balanced.

There’s a bit of heavenly discomfort today in the stars. The Sun in analytical Virgo makes a semi-tense quincunx to forgiving Neptune in Aquarius. It’s like one parent wants to ground a child for a transgression while the other one seeks to forgive and offer a second chance.You may feel this dynamic playing out in your own psyche. Will your punish or forgive yourself for perceived transgressions/failures/mistakes? Also the Moon moves into Scorpio and aligns with Vesta. This alignment can increase your focus, even obsession, in regards to sexual or financial matters.
