And our solar system’s largest planet Jupiter will square the Lunar Nodes on Friday. This aspect feels like rounding the bend of a river, presenting a whole new vista expanding before you. Be an explorer and scout out emerging opportunities with gusto and verve.
Mon June 23
This is a relatively calm day astrologically. However the opposition of an independent Aries Moon to responsible Saturn may create at least one earnest conversation or force you to buckle down and face some pressing responsibility you would rather ignore. In the evening hours, Moon moves into earthy sensual Taurus and forms a happy sextile to Jupiter in nurturing Cancer. Feels like family members are being loving and snuggly toward each other.

If you are blessed with a clear sky this morning, get up at first light to see the sliver of the waning Moon nestled next to Venus ~ love ~ and Juno ~ beloved soul relations of all kinds~ creating a bejeweled sky. Open yourself up to this portal of radiance and nurturing, bathing in cosmic love and support. On a more fiery action-oriented note, the explosive Mars/Uranus opposition is about to culminate tomorrow, but some of you might feel way amped up and agitated today. As I have mentioned before, some of you readers will experience these transits as they are ingressing (meaning coming into formation) while others will feel the effects days after. We are all uniquely designed and have our own divine timing. In this I trust. Consciously work with your breathe to keep things calm over the next 72 hours.

Both the planets Mars and Uranus are volatile, antsy, eruptive. So those may be some of the energies you encounter within and around you today as these two oppose one another for the final standoff/breakthrough. With Uranus in Pisces ~ feeling the grief in our world ~ and Mars in Virgo ~ feeling the desire to take actions that heal the underlying causes of our suffering ~ we can now take even stronger steps towards reforms that will better our world, especially in regards to protecting the rights of children, women and our food supplies. There is always more to do, but new standards of conduct have been set in motion in the past six months. As today is the last day of the old lunar cycle, rest, be gentle with yourself, book a massage, nurture each other with touch and tenderness. No need to take on more busyness, especially since Mercury is still in retrograde. Turn in early with your journal nearby (if you use a journal, or restart the practice tonight) as you may receive a message from somewhere/someone overnight as the Moon enters Gemini near midnight.

You may feel like you are in a flurry of completion today as the Moon, Mercury and the Sun are all conjunct in multitasking, curious, secretarial Gemini. This day holds the potential for over the top amounts of incoming information, either because you are obsessed in learning about something or everyone else is in a similar boat, wanting to connect. And with Pallas Athene ~ goddess of wisdom, creative intelligence, strategy and systems thinking ~in a easy trine to Pluto ~ power, will, resurrection ~ chances are many are organizing with others to launch new goals and strategies. We are all in entering this New Field of planetary awakening together, so let’s find ways to co-cooperate, not compete, for that truly is the way the Earth works.

Here’s a big day. It’s the New Moon which is always a lovely moment to begin anew. See yourself having the vitality and spunk of a budding plant just sprouting or a baby bird just hatching. Sun and Moon align early at 1:08 am MST in the sidereal sign of Gemini. That means this coming four week lunar cycle will be one of busyness, juggling many balls at once and actually liking it, travel, tons of communication, and hopefully boatloads of curiosity, one of Gemini’s greatest qualities. Gemini also rules youth and humor, so discover new ways to increase those qualities in your life. Read “The Biology of Belief” by Bruce Lipton, or “Ageless Body, Timeless Mind” by Deepak Chopra, key books on understanding the way we really can “grow younger toward death” as the poet David Whyte writes. And this New Moon is conjunct a star called Mirzam which rules networking and scouting out your next steps. In the coming weeks and months, have more fun, explore, try new things, make new friends, travel to and explore a whole new territory. We all survived one of the more rugged winters on record so this will feel really good!
Also today, a bit more intense aspect is also in play as the day progresses. This newly hatched Moon makes the every seven day aspect to the waning Grand Square of April. Thank goodness we are through that portal! This restless communicative Gemini Moon first opposes Pluto, making for conversations about power or willful coercion. Then in the later evening the Moon squares Mars and opposes Uranus which can lead to sudden emotional outbursts or getting a second wind. You might either stay of late or have an agitated sleep. Or, you might also be struck by the lightning of your mind’s eye manifesting as an epiphany. To be awakened is always Uranus’s gift.

What a completely lovely day is in store today. First off, there is a flowing joyful trine of Sun in Gemini to Neptune in Aquarius. These are Air signs in astrology, which govern our relationships, our social circles, our larger communities. There’s lots of supportive energy coming to you and lots of ways you can help others if you are open. Stay open and live presently ~ as in stay present in the present moment. A stellar conjunction between Venus ~ love and art ~ and Juno ~ committed partners ~ is occurring today. There will be many who find their beloveds today, be that pet, human or collaborative alliance. Be sure to get outside at sunset to witness Jupiter nestled near the cresecent Moon, always one of the most beautiful pairings in our solar system. Jupiter rules joy, faith, trust, vision, optimism. Think positive thoughts, send out hopeful intentions, thank the Universe in advance for bringing those gifts to you.

The romance continues. Today the Juno/Venus conjunction I spoke of yesterday makes an exact square to Neptune. Squares can manifest as both conflict but also the resolution of conflict providing folks are willing to do the work necessary to make peace. Note that Mercury is almost at a standstill, leaving it’s retrograde period and going direct July 1. At the end of a cycle like this one, you may feel particularly overloaded by too many details, so take the proverbial pause this Sunday and rest your overworked brain.
