HorseWarriors/KINDNESS PROJECT ~ painting by Jesse Johnson
Overview
Our New SolLunar Cycle in the last degrees of astronomical Libra packs a punch just like the previous one in which we experienced two eclipses that brought massive shifts and challenges to Earth. The intensity continues as both Sun and Moon align with fiery, militaristic Mars and caregiving Ceres and oppose the catalyst-for-radical-shifts, Uranus. In spite of the unpredictable nature of this energy, one way to view this entire planetary signature is compassion-in-action. What that might mean is this: how do I plant the seeds of peace within myself and how do WE plant the seeds of peace in the world?
This is a hot and volatile period. Think volcanoes erupting as is currently a possibility in Iceland. Don’t be surprised if you encounter people who are edgy, angry, short-tempered. Steer clear for your peace of mind. When Mars and Ceres align, I feel it as Mother Grizzly energy which fiercely protects her cubs and territory and likes to be in control. This energy can create excessive heat/inflammation in the body and in our body politic. With Ceres in the planetary mix, you might feel the need to shift your diet and claim what nurtures you in all your relationships. Eat meals with green foods to cool the building heat like warm soups with plenty of greens, parsley, celery. You might find your digestion is touchy and irritable and requires less food so consider a liquid diet for a few days.
This dynamic also brings exuberance so perhaps you will welcome a wild new puppy into your home or foster a child or pet. It brings motivation, movement and momentum regarding goals, plans, or for just feeling better.
Also during this Cycle, the dynamism and independence of Aries, activated by the transits of Jupiter and Uranus, is currently bathing the Earth as a powerful force to help each of us claim the essence of our Self, to call ourselves home, so to speak, from places and ways of relating that we have moved beyond. Great gifts will come after this diligent, but at times, difficult work.
The fixed stars associated with this Cycle are Unukalhai and Zubenelgenubi. They signify the self-empowerment learned after mastering many challenges and they set in motion a new story and dharma for the future. They are stars of deep wisdom like what our Elders know, that war holds no purpose or place on Earth anymore having suffered through it for too many cycles of history. May there be a shift in a new direction as part of this SolLunar Cycle.
I want to share this poem I wrote on the eve of the first Gulf War in 1991. I was on a winter trip into Yellowstone, engaged in prayers like so many around the world at that time that war did not have to happen, and yet it did.
This poem is timely, once again.
Bear Paw by Lyn Dalebout
I scheduled five days
in the depth of winter
in the heart of Yellowstone
hoping to bring back gifts:
the overheard dreams of Bears.
These thrumming voices
were the disturbed paws of Bear
beating the ground
drumming the sound
older than war
into our hearts.
There is something
older than war
and we must remember.

Last, people experience the transits of planets at different times depending on their sensitivity and life events. When reading my daily entries, remember that the influence of each aspect is like a wave: it crescendos a day or two, sometimes a week, before it happens, crests on the day it is exact, then dissipates over the following days.
Thank you my dear friend, Priscilla Marden, and your students and interns for the use of these beautiful mandalas from the KINDNESS PROJECT which is currently hanging at Center for the Arts in Jackson Wyoming. Read more about Priscilla’s decades-long truly visionary educational organization, Horse Warriors, which created this project.
Sidereal Astrology Mentoring and Readings
My posts are based on the true astronomical alignments of the planets with the constellations, also referred to as the sidereal zodiac. I use the phases of the Moon as the scaffold for my posts because the Moon functions like an energetic portal mediating between the heavens and our wondrous Earth. My entries are based on the aspects occurring each week as they crescendo, crest and dissipate over the course of their influence. As you work with and within the natural flow of time and the supportive cosmic energies that each unique SolLunar Cycle brings, life can flow with more ease, grace and understanding.
I delight in mentoring students—individually, with families or groups, and via workshops and conferences—who want to learn more about how to use sidereal astrology as a helpful tool for insight and awakening. Consider booking a mini-reading with me for $44 or $88, the numbers of living your Mastery on Earth. In these short readings, I discuss key personal transits that are happening for you in 2023 and beyond. Send me an email if you are interested in those options, or a full Natal Map, Update, Relationship Map, Young Adult or Child’s Map. Thank you!
